@Mummyme87 @suz2285 I’m also going away at 37 weeks - but same as you Suz, my mum was a midwife and so I know I’ll be in good hands. Coming back 37+5 so just pray all goes smoothly, I debated for the first 6 months of pregnancy whether to go over Christmas but I’ll be over 38 weeks then which feels toooo risky especially when family will have been drinking etc should anything happen.

I’m going to do some Vinted selling this week too! Also @Hummusanddipdip the majority of movement for me is under my belly button, have never felt anything in the ribs although I get the odd foot slightly above belly button. At last appt he was head down but I’m not convinced he’s stayed that way, I feel so much stretching and pushing out I feel like he could be transverse

scrunchie2 · 13/11/2023 10:56

Oh I've just seen this, can I join? I'm due the 3rd Jan 😊🤞🏻

sashastuck · 13/11/2023 11:00

@scrunchie2 of course, congratulations! How has it been going for you?

suz2285 · 13/11/2023 11:04

@sashastuck when my boy was transverse the movement seemed to be all below the belly! And on both sides! He was head down at the last scan and I think still, there's little 'tickly' movements down really low and more rolly movements near my belly button (think that's his butt) and then I'm not being kicked in the ribs either which I assumed was up at the top ribs! But his legs are folded and I sometimes feel a kick right around my side so I'm thinking it's more being kicked in the side ribs which I wasn't expecting! Feels like so far round to the side 😂😂

Welcome @scrunchie2

Bought my pram just now from Baby & Co, based in Bristol. They have a big sale on and money off first purchases. Exciting!! If anyone wants to buy anything from there, they’ve given me a referral code… not sure how it works but here it is LUCY24753. Think you get £10 off and I get a percentage of your total spend.

Mummyme87 · 13/11/2023 14:00

@TunnocksTCake ive been posting stuff since Wednesday on Vinted, if all comes good I will have made £120 so far with a few bits on there to sell. If it doesn’t go then will add it to the charity bag collection.

TunnocksTCake · 13/11/2023 14:29

@Mummyme87 hope it sells well :) I need to make a decision on how long to keep it before I send to charity, I can see the piles getting huge before long once the baby is here!! Love it though I have barely spent any money on baby's clothes just selling DDs and buying for DS with the proceeds!

Gremlin84 · 14/11/2023 11:22

This morning I hit the "gained 10kg" mark XD - it was only a couple of weeks ago that I was at 7kg, baby is really ramping up the growing!

buckingmad · 14/11/2023 13:07

DD had the biggest tantrum about being in the trolley at Sainsburys today. I really couldn’t care less about judgey looks as I had stuff I needed to get and I wasn’t not going to get it just cause she was screaming.

2 lovely ladies asked how I was and said I was doing great ❤️ everyone else (mainly women over 60 and their husbands), can fuck off 😂

This all stems from my in laws letting DD walk when they take her to the supermarket. Does my head in, they completely pander to her tantrums. MIL said it took her 3 hours to persuade DD to get dressed. Sadly I don’t ever have the luxury of 3 hours so I end up battling with her the other 6 days of the week. All I’m asking for is consistency 😭 it’s not fair on DD either as she doesn’t know which way is up. But DH says we can’t possibly say anything to them as they do us a favour having her one day a week for free. He forgets they begged us for it though!

Mummyme87 · 14/11/2023 14:33

Urgh @buckingmad thats annoying re MIL. Stick to your guns. And well done for managing to do the shopping with a tantrumming child. They set to try us!!

buckingmad · 14/11/2023 14:41

@Mummyme87 they really do! I’m hoping in the next 2 months she has an emotional rebalance and goes back to my lovely little girl not the toddler devil she’s become 😂

Just had my midwife appointment and I am once again measuring even smaller on my chart so off for another growth scan. I don’t feel too anxious this time though as she’s a regular mover, heartbeat was good and obviously last time I was measuring small but scan was bang on 50th centile.

I did have a bit of a cry about my mental well-being and she got me to fill in a form and I’ve been referred to mental health services and the perinatal midwives.

suz2285 · 14/11/2023 14:58

@buckingmad wow that sounds stressful. We (me and DH) went to the supermarket on Sunday, it was so busy and i was so irritated. Getting uncomfy and a bit fed up, so i can't imagine doing that with a toddler!

I'm already worrying about the different ways MIL/my mum/Us will want to parent baby when he is here, so totally get that, grandparents have the relaxed approach because they have time for it like you say! Hope your little girl manages to chill a bit before baby comes!

buckingmad · 14/11/2023 15:05

@suz2285 honestly set your boundaries from the get go and don’t be afraid to be firm! At the end of the day they are your baby. I will be setting even more with this baby 😂 and if my ILs don’t like it they can stuff it. DH goes away for 6 months in September just as my mat leave ends so I really do not have the time to be unravelling habits set by my in laws and so I’ve signed DD up for an extra day of nursery rather than go to my ILs.

As for emotionally unstable toddlers in public I’ve found the best thing is to just ignore them and everyone around you 😂 I always think to myself yes it’s awful for other people to listen to but they get to go home! This noise is following me (and it did…the whole drive home 🫠).

suz2285 · 14/11/2023 15:17

@buckingmad that's the plan! I know my Mum will discipline and be great, MIL is quite relaxed and our niece and nephew have no boundaries so I will be trying to make sure that our kids have them! We'll be mixing up the childcare 1/3rd MIL/Mum and Nursery, so hopefully won't be too confusing! Gotta do what works right?! Anyway i've got a while to worry about that, another year before they would be with anyone else for care

Goodness, right!? I do plan on wearing my noise reducing ear plugs a fair bit as I get irritated easily by noise! I'm so used to it being quiet when DH isn't in! And i use the quiet to recharge.... 😂

Just had a big fall on paving slabs, went flying. On the train back out of London to the hospital with bleeding hands and legs. I kind of rolled over the bump, as tried to flip my body out of the way. Really really hoping the baby is okay

Luhou · 14/11/2023 17:42

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 oh no what a shock for you! Hope all okay, best to get checked out but sure baby is okay.

@buckingmad we've all been there regarding a melt down in Sainsburys. My DD who was potty trained has regressed the last few days and also started a baby voice. Worried it's all to do with change around the baby. Not really sure what I can do about it.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 14/11/2023 18:04

@Luhou thank you. Just waiting in triage. Feel such an idiot

@buckingmad absolutely, have all been there. I feel like I'm your in laws sometimes, my partner was furious I just gave in and let him eat a chocolate finger last time, to stop the screaming and just let me shop in peace

Hummusanddipdip · 14/11/2023 18:16

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 please don't feel like an idiot! These things happen. I got punched in the stomach by a child yesterday (totally by accident, misjudged running hug while I was looking the other way) you're in the best place to be checked over and I'm sure baby is absolutely fine in there, they've got lots of cushioning. But take care of you!! Your poor hands and legs!!

Ohhh I don't miss the shopping tantrums! Thankfully ( I think) dh come shopping too now(won't let me lift or carry any bags) and he takes ds on treasure hunts while I'm getting the shopping. It's a great game for them... means unplanned off the list buying for me 🫣

With family childcare, absolutely set the boundaries, there are still things now that both my parents and inlaws do when they have ds that make me go "noooo we'll be paying for that later" but there are also things they do that dh and I say "did they do that with us a children? It's brilliant!!" And times that they challenge what we're doing too, its funny having my mum go "but why...?"

WitcheryDivine · 14/11/2023 18:21

@buckingmad I hope the referral helps, it's taken a while to make a difference but I feel better than I did.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 hope all goes well at the hospital, when I fell over the midwives said it happens literally all the time especially at this time of year and the babies barely know it's occurred.

buckingmad · 14/11/2023 18:33

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 hope you and baby are ok. I fell holding DD on a patch of ice when she was less than 6 months old and I still don’t know how I managed not falling on her but I did. I cried from the shock, it’s a horrible feeling.

And it’s ok if you cave and give in to toddler, it’s just no one else is 😂 I think it’s just extra annoying when someone else gives in cause they don’t have to deal with it daily!

@Luhou im not convinced DD has any idea what is about to happen, think I’ve just unfortunately hit the terrible twos at an inconvenient time 😂 have you got any friends or relatives with children a similar age gap you can chat to?

LittleAlien24 · 14/11/2023 18:39

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 hope everything is ok with the baby and you

I had my ob appointment today. Baby is across in my belly 😁 covering his face with hands, knees and trying to cover even with toes 😂 cervix is still doing ok so im delighted with that. As much as she could measure everything was ok and he's about 1800g.
Talked with her again about me being in recovery without my baby for minimum of 2h and she said unfortunately she can't do anything about it 😞

WitcheryDivine · 14/11/2023 18:43

Has anyone else been prescribed omeprazole during pregnancy?

Luhou · 14/11/2023 18:56

@buckingmad I feel like the uncertainty is perhaps making it worse for DD as she knows change is coming but unsure what. I think she is struggling with time frames. Keeps asking if he's here yet.

Good idea to speak to friends and family.

Mummyme87 · 14/11/2023 21:19

@WitcheryDivine not me personally but women often do, particularly if suffering from hyperemesis or reflux

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 15/11/2023 06:48

Thanks so much. They checked my placenta and said it looked okay. But also told me I'm silly to be commuting into London and they see a lot of falls from that what with the busyness, tubes, trains, etc. I can't work from home til I'm eight months so not much I can do about that 🤷‍♀️

@buckingmad that must have been so so scary.

@Hummusanddipdip I love the idea of that game- maybe I need to steal that idea! How is your horse now?

@LittleAlien24 I'm sorry they won't budge. If it helps, I was separated from my first baby in NICU and it was end of Covid so we couldn't stay all the time. Breastfeeding was okay still, and I fed him for over a year. Think we were more upset than he was.
