@Inmydreams88 when im shopping with my teenagers i usually squat down or lean on something when they taking their time to look at something lol
My exercise is walking up on our stairs. Less than half way up and im taking a break, out of breath and struggling but somehow my eldest finds it always funny.
@Salamander91 yes have this pain for quite few weeks now 😣 probably because he's head down in a good position for birth

My poor baby hates this loud machine (chiseling) noise. Every time it's starts he starts kicking me 😔 and i can't do anything because i have to be here for the workers, to keep an eye on them

Kalodin · 09/11/2023 07:45

@WitcheryDivine She's not doing great tbh, feels like she's getting worse everyday. She had a pulmonary haemorrhage yesterday. Doctors aren't concerned yet and haven't had that awful DNR chat yet like we did with our son so I know she is doing okay in comparison to her brother. And she is stable this morning.

I hope everyone's NCT and Antenatal classes go well. I found that's when it really sinks in how real it all is!

buckingmad · 09/11/2023 08:40

@Kalodin can't imagine how you're all feeling at the moment. Will be thinking of you all xx

Luhou · 09/11/2023 08:40

Thanks @Ttcdcno1 I am also thinking it could be a waste of time this group session. Also fallen really awkward time in terms of working day.

@Mummyme87. Was the group session useful?

@lilluce95 once baby is heree and you're desperately trying to get them to sleep you'll be desperate to take them for a walk in the pram, so dogs are in luck on the walking front!

WitcheryDivine · 09/11/2023 09:18

Oh @Kalodin what a time for you all. I’ll be thinking of your little girl and praying she turns a corner really soon xx

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 09/11/2023 10:06

@Kalodin I'm so sorry, thinking of you, and hoping she gets a lot better soon xxx

Mummyme87 · 09/11/2023 10:11

@Luhou I didn’t do a group session, mine is 1 to 1, but it will be fairly generic, won’t be pointless but probably a good starting point.

@Kalodin sorry to Amherst Aria isn’t doing so well, but as you know it’s good days and bad days in NNU, hopefully some good days are coming her way

Matildahoney · 09/11/2023 10:27

So sorry to hear it @Kalodin thoughts and love are with you all.

Luhou · 09/11/2023 10:35

@Kalodin thinking of you. What a difficult time for you all ❤️

Mushroo · 09/11/2023 10:38

Thinking of you @Kalodin ❤️

Has anyone used or planning to try raspberry leaf tea? I’m tempted as I figure if it does nothing, all I’ve done is drink some tea so not really lost anything.

Any experiences or downsides I’ve not thought of? Planning to start at 33 weeks

suz2285 · 09/11/2023 11:52

@Mushroo it's on my list to get some, and dates too! no issues eating dates as i love them! But says not to start dates until 36 weeks? The tea i'm going to start anytime now I think! probably taste rubbish like most other fruit teas!

Mushroo · 09/11/2023 11:59

@suz2285 yeh I’m willing to try all the old wives tales! The reviews for the tea were that it tastes ‘ok’ so here’s hoping!

My plan once I finish for mat leave is basically dates, tea, yoga, walks, nipple stimulation, sex, spicy food, bouncing on my ball and fairy lights 😂

Really want to try and avoid an induction!

Bims2019 · 09/11/2023 12:09

@Kalodin so sorry you're going through this, sending lots of love and will be thinking of you ♥️

@lilluce95 we start Bump and Baby classes on Saturday, looking forward to it 😊

lilluce95 · 09/11/2023 13:00

@FirstT1meMum oh that's good to know!! 😆

@Luhou hahaha this is very true, I never thought of it like that! 😂

@Bims2019 ooh are they similar to NCT classes? They sound way less formal haha.

@Kalodin so sorry to hear this, at least you're all in the best place for her. Sending lots of love 💕

sashastuck · 09/11/2023 13:02

@Mushroo I’m starting 1 cup a day from this week. Will up it in a few weeks + dates. X

@Kalodin hoping she has plenty of good days coming her way xx

suz2285 · 09/11/2023 13:09

@Mushroo sounds like a good plan! very similar to mine, tbh looking forward to having sex without worrying about my water breaking or whatever, though i'm so uncomfortable now that maybe I won't be that bothered by then! I also want to last until after Christmas so I can have a nice time with the family! 😂

Also in the wanting to avoid any induction club!

Mummyme87 · 09/11/2023 13:46

@Mushroo yes raspberry leaf tea from 32weeks, start with one cup a day and up it after a few weeks, but capsules are supposedly just as effective. And dates I will try from 36weeks. They do different things hence why different start times. The raspberry leaf tea is for toning the uterus making it more effective etc

Mushroo · 09/11/2023 13:53

Great will get some tea ordered!

@suz2285 absolutely - sex is at the very bottom of the list of things to try 😂

Onedayatatime24 · 09/11/2023 14:35

We're just going to the NHS antenatal classes in a couple fo weeks. We've been offered two face to face classes which are a couple hours each. Would anyone recommend doing NCT or Bump and Baby on top of those or are they likely to be a similar sort of thing?

Also do I need a birth ball? I've been having pain in my hips in bed so wondering if it's worth investing but don't want to waste money if I'll only use it for a month or two! Are they useful to have around for labour?

Mushroo · 09/11/2023 14:48

We’ve done bump and baby and it’s been good, but in terms of information nothing I wouldn’t have learnt from the baby academy online. The main benefit has been meeting local mums to be. However, round here we had to book when I was about 12 weeks pregnant to get a place, so you might struggle.

100% recommended a birth ball. I love mine, I use it to sit on when I’m working to break up sitting in my office chair, and any time I get any pain I sit on it and it really seems to help. There’s loads of YouTube videos as well which explain how you can use it to prepare for birth.

suz2285 · 09/11/2023 15:05

@Onedayatatime24 i bought my ball months ago but it's really only been useful recently! I'm also sitting on mine when WFH it's much comfier, also doing some exercises/hip opening things on you tube and other platforms for general comfort and good positions for birth etc!

Our antenatal classes are still online here! So no meeting anyone, which sucks, i've been told i'll get the details but nothing through yet! I've signed up for a half day hypnobirthing class for me and husband just so we have some in real life interaction and some contacts, as well as there's a section specifically about how the birth partners can assist which i think will be way more useful in a real life setting

Mixed reviews about NCT classes round here so i've decided not to bother with that!

Bims2019 · 09/11/2023 15:24

@lilluce95 I think it's pretty similar to NCT, we went with it because the classes were closer to us and a bit cheaper 😄

Same as @Mushroo I had to book a while back to guarantee a space! But you never know, might be worth a look. Again I agree that most things I could probably learn online, but the chance to meet other new parents in the area swayed us.

I haven't looked into raspberry leaf tea or a birth ball, you're all very organised! Is the main benefit of the tea to encourage labour sooner?

The nursery is finally underway in our house, very much thanks to DH's parents. Feels like things are finally coming together as we've ordered the pram and car seat as well. I still feel all over the place though 😅 next on my list, hospital bag and birth plan!

Bims2019 · 09/11/2023 15:25

I also haven't heard anything back from my gestational diabetes test after nearly a week, so hoping that no news is good news!

Salamander91 · 09/11/2023 16:19

Baby is head down at the scan today so guess that's why I've had such an increase in pelvic pressure. He is also chunking up as expected 😅 they're estimating 2200g. Since my scan two weeks ago his HC and Femur have only increased by about a week but his AC has grown by 4 weeks 🙈 I have another appointment in two weeks and I'll hopefully get my section date then.

Salamander91 · 09/11/2023 16:31

@Kalodin thinking of you all. Hopefully she has some better days soon ❤️
