I've woken up with awful stomach pains this morning - hoping its something I ate and nothing worse, or maybe baby has moved around. Feel so stretched out and achey down the centre of my bump!

Has anyone else had movements that feel like vibrations? Really strange its like hes shaking in there!

@Kalodin mine got worse afterwards as well but I cant remember how long it all lasted. I had forgotten about all that swelling. I am already struggling to fit in half my shoes so feel it may be worse this time.

Kalodin · 07/11/2023 09:16

Ah that's a telling point maybe @TunnocksTCake As I had gone up a shoe size in pregnancy and had to take all my rings off too this time around.

Hope you get more comfortable as the day goes on, does sound like maybe baby has got into a funky position. Perhaps with a bit of movement as day goes on it will feel better 🤞

buckingmad · 07/11/2023 09:33

@TunnocksTCake yes I get the vibrations! Had it with DD as well. I wondered if it was like when you have a really good stretch and kinda shake? I've never been very good at telling different movements, can just about make out hiccoughs sometimes.

TunnocksTCake · 07/11/2023 13:10

@buckingmad glad it's not just me! Such a weird feeling!
@Kalodin yeah I had to take my rings off ages ago 😱

This pain is not getting any better, at work so sadly having to sit down all day and even that is uncomfortable! Hurts to take a deep breath too 😩

Gremlin84 · 07/11/2023 13:13

Today is a difficult day. Trying to sort out a relatively big revamp of our bedroom before baby arrives so we have a nice little cozy space. I had hoped to find someone who would just do the whole thing: fitted wardrobes, decoration, carpets but it hasn't worked out like that. Will need to be coordination between different trades. I don't mind that and I'm not particularly stressed, but OH is just being a stroppy grump about the whole thing, keeps saying he "doesn't care" and just wants to move anyway so what's the point. It's taking a lot of patience to not just go "FFS, buck up - I'm dealing with growing a human being, the least you can do is not make this harder by being a petulant child". The cognitive burden of working out what needs doing in what order and where to move all our clothes to in various stages is exhausting and he's just decided to be no help at all and huffs about every time I try to have a grown up logistics conversation, which I know is a boring and tedious conversation, but it still needs to happen.

Mummyme87 · 07/11/2023 14:32

Sorry your struggling with OH, I refused to talk to my OH at the weekend because he thought sitting on his arse for an hour playing on his phone was really helpful when we don’t have a lot of time left to sort things. I just don’t think they get it sometimes.

got my parking permit for work now so that’s a relief, and having my heart stuff all chased aswell so I don’t get lost in the system.

Dannic2018 · 07/11/2023 15:43

The to do list seems to be never ending now that the clock is ticking
Really pushed myself after work to paint a bit but I’m absolutely freezing and aching all over and just feel pretty rubbish so think I’ve got a bug coming. We’ve got friends coming at the weekend from down south so really don’t have time to be poorly and with a demanding 3 year old it’s feeling pretty shit today

WitcheryDivine · 07/11/2023 16:34

I don't think they always get the incredible pressure of knowing that you contain a baby that could literally be born any time, and you need somewhere to put it!

That and the feeling that every day/week things get more exhausting, body is getting more painful (well mine is), walking becomes harder to do so things like "let's do all the shopping on X day" become physically impossible.

Ringing a bell with anyone else?

Hummusanddipdip · 07/11/2023 16:55

Yes definitely to the walking @WitcheryDivine!!!

It's the first time in about 4 weeks that I've walked to dh work from mine. Only a 45 minute walk, but oh my word, I felt like EVERYTHING was going to fall out down there!! I'm not sure I can do that walk again, I'm now sat in the car waiting for him to finish work, I might fall asleep, I'm so tired!!

I realised last week I've still not had my MATB1 form from my midwife 🤦‍♀️ I saw her at half term and we both forgot about it, I called and left a message with my gp practice for her to request it at the start of last week, but not had it. I am right to think it's 28 days notice I need to give work? So it's not the end of the world I haven't got it yet?

Mushroo · 07/11/2023 17:19

@Hummusanddipdip i thought you had to tell work 15 weeks before your due date.

TBH though my work weren’t really that bothered about seeing the Mat1b, I just emailed it over as soon as I got it, but worth double checking.

WitcheryDivine · 07/11/2023 17:25

HI @Hummusanddipdip sorry you're feeling like that too!

Re: MatB1 it'll depend on your work's policy. Mine needed to be with them weeks ago (around 25 weeks preg) but I suspect you've got that 28 days idea from somewhere.

Hummusanddipdip · 07/11/2023 17:26

@Mushroo I believe that legally you have to tell them you're pregnant 15 weeks before due date, but date of leaving I think it's only 28 days notice.

I could be wrong. But no-one has asked me for it yet, but I don't plan to start leave until beginning of January. I've already discussed my leaving date with our personnel manager, so I guess, they have that in mind, so they aren't too fussed?

HopeAndStrength · 07/11/2023 17:30

My work needed notification of intended maternity leave by week 25, but said my MAT B1 form could follow whenever I got it.

LittleAlien24 · 07/11/2023 19:23

@Kalodin unfortunately im in spain and not sure can you get anything like that in uk. I will attach a picture of the one im using, maybe it's available somehow.

Sorry to hear about yer DH's. Im not sure how mine would behave because he's not here until Christmas but when i was in Ireland he did drove me around everywhere i wanted to go to get stuff for the baby.
He's worried about our sleeping arrangements now because im having csection and we have lot of steps (3 sections of stairs) to get upstairs to our bedroom. I think i should be fine. Just can't go upstairs during the day, have to order him and daughters around when need something lol
Got a bit of shopping done today for the baby but still feel I've loads to get. Got warm cute babygrow as well as his first outfit after he's born.

Dannic2018 · 07/11/2023 20:36

Sorry to ask, not feeling well today, cold, achy etc but my braxton hicks have intensified late afternoon and still on and off now. Don’t know if it’s because I’m not well so it’s more uncomfortable but they are not nice

Luhou · 07/11/2023 20:52

I'm also struggling with Braxton Hicks today. I think they're just more common at this later stage. How quick have people had their 28week bloods and gestational diabeties tests back? Had both mine done last week ar 29weeks.

Luhou · 07/11/2023 20:54

I'd imagine it's muscular but I've got this really uncomfortable achey pulling sensation right in my core, like the middle of my stomach. Anybody else experiencing simillar?

MrsJ6921 · 07/11/2023 21:01

@LittleAlien24 my Spanish is very very limited however I believe this could be similar to Ace laundry bleach which is fab for getting stains out of whites! It’s normally a couple of pounds from B&M/Home Bargains but have also seen it in Asda.

FirstT1meMum · 07/11/2023 21:07

@Luhou I rang up the Dr's 2 days after my GTT test for my results as that's what they said. My 28 week bloods were discussed at my following midwife appointment. Also feeling quite achey across my tummy at times, especially if she's been lying and pushing out or I've bent in a funny way!

Onedayatatime24 · 07/11/2023 21:10

@Luhou mine took 2 days to show up on badger notes, hope you get it back soon!

I'm the same with walking, went Christmas shopping on Saturday and could only do about 2 hours before I was exhausted and didn't want to do any more. Was also in pain and achey alllll evening afterwards so definitely understand the panic of feeling like there's not enough time to do everything! Such a busy time of year anyway too. Think I'll have to do everything else online.

LittleAlien24 · 07/11/2023 21:18

@MrsJ6921 im not sure. I know we have the ace bleach for clothes as well but i never tried it

Gremlin84 · 08/11/2023 09:07

Bit of a scare last night that led to a call to triage. Got up for standard 3am wee but found (sorry for tmi) bright red blood on the tissue on wiping mixed with usual discharge. Like first day of period. No active bleeding beyond that (I.e once wiped away no new blood replaced it). No pain, and baby still having a little dance party. Because of that triage said to check again in a couple of hours and if no change they weren’t concerned. Just one of those things, baby probably punched cervix or something. Luckily there was no more bleeding (they told me to wear a pad to check), no pain and baby still wiggling about, but it was too scary for 3-5am! Exhausted getting train to work now.

Marple03 · 08/11/2023 09:10

@TunnocksTCake i have got little vibrations too, like a shuddering! Sometimes i feel like if I'm lying too much on my bump, i get kicked more too! Maybe it's my position or maybe they're annoyed?!

Got 28 week blood results back to say I'm marginally below on haemoglobin, i think it was 11.7 and shd be 12 to 16. Bit annoyed with myself as not taking multivit only vit d and folic acid so on galfer one a day now too. Feeling tired sometimes but was putting that down to bad sleep.

RG9895 · 08/11/2023 09:16

@Gremlin84 hope you are okay! If it's any reassurance I had this a few weeks ago and sure does make you panic! I think I overdone it and potentially what caused it so try and take a step back if you can ☺️ my friend had it when she done too much in her 30 weeks too!

As for blood tests from 28 weeks I haven't heard a thing but I have my 31 week appointment tomorrow so I will ask then!

Totally get the men not getting it too 🤣 tbf my Husband has been amazing but when I say my back hurts can you do this and he says yeah my back hurts too...ok but you aren't growing a human so get up! lol if men had to have the babies I think humans would be a dying breed!

Vikki7 · 08/11/2023 09:16

I've also had regular shuddering/vibrations, not sure what's going on in there when I feel this, movements feels way too fast for hiccups!

I had my midwife appointment yesterday at 32+1 and it turns out baby's position has gone from cephalon to ROL (right occiput lateral) am I right in thinking he's gone sideways?! I've had the most strong and sharp movement in my right hip.

I'm planning a home birth and not sure if this would be ok to continue with if he stays in that position? Do I need to look up spinning babies and positioning?
