@Kalodin How stressful for you, Im glad you are able to stay close to her and she is doing well so far. Lovely pictures on Facebook.
We should have the nursery all ready to go at the end of next weekend, we bought all the paint on Saturday and DH was shifting furniture around yesterday in preparation. Almost got all the wallpaper paste off the wall - such a chore - and my beautiful dressing room will soon be gone!! 😭😂
DD (3) being very clingy and difficult at the moment, didnt want to do anything without me at the weekend when she would usually jump at the chance to go out with Dad on her own. Says she misses me and just wants her mummy all the time. Bless her. Sure its baby related. Any advice on making it easier let me know!! Feeling incredibly guilty that we are increasing her days at nursery from 2 to 3 in December but honestly she must be so bored with me on our wednesdays together, I just cant do all the games she wants me to do (being a horsey/ dog/ cat/ Elsa/ Ana/ witch/ lion!)

after much stupidity and messing around, estates have my parking permit ready for me to collect.

have been sat on the sofa more or less since the school run, must go and do a food shop now otherwise will have nothing in! Did shed a few more tears this morning, wondering how I will get through the next few weeks when I already feel absolutely done. I keep telling myself to stay positive and enjoy it as I won’t be doing it again unfortunately.

WitcheryDivine · 06/11/2023 12:42

I get what you mean re: telling yourself to enjoy it. Not easy for many of us though for different reasons.

I am going to try and shift to more online supermarket shops as feel like we hardly have anything in now I'm not able to carry much home! Pretty silly.

Glad they got the permit sorted.

I'm due to have a tour of the delivery ward and birth plan meeting this week. Anyone had one before and could tell me how it worked/whether they found it helpful?

Mummyme87 · 06/11/2023 14:38

@WitcheryDivine definitely not always easy to try and enjoy pregnancy, I’m definitely trying though!!

anyone who has washed baby clothes from previous babies that had milk stains…. Have you been able to get them out? I’ve just washed some bits and a couple of the lovely mainly white JoJo babygrows have milk stains on the neck…

Onedayatatime24 · 06/11/2023 14:46

@Kalodin sending lots of love to you and little one!!

Does anyone have any advice on where to buy affordable maternity clothes? I don't want to spend loads as I'll only wear them for a couple of months. Managed in my normal wardrobe until now but starting to struggle to fit into anything!

Yes! Some of mine were disgusting, hard and yellow stains! Was mainly sleeping bags (from jojo and next) and a few baby grows.

I did a 40 degree wash with bio detergent, then sprayed with vanish, soaked in water overnight with detergent. Then washed again with non bio on a normal 30 wash.

I'm a rubbish housewife so was on cloud nine for weeks after I managed to get them all coming (very nearly) spotless. I did manage to dry them in the sunshine which I do think sometimes helps to bleach them a bit more.

Redpanda21 · 06/11/2023 15:31

@Onedayatatime24 i bought a bundle from Facebook marketplace. Got 25 items for £20. Leggings, jeans, tops, dresses

Mummyme87 · 06/11/2023 15:42

@buckingmad great thanks. I’ll get some vanish. Sun definitely gets rid of stains, I know this from washing nappies!

@Onedayatatime24 have you looked on Vinted? Maternity clothes are typically more expensive than normal clothes, it’s ridiculous. I bought a few normal size jumpers from H&M and put vests underneath

Mushroo · 06/11/2023 15:45

@Onedayatatime24 ive been living in maternity leggings and then normal oversized jumper that I’ll be able to wear once she’s here!

Also recommend buying jumper dress things with a bit of stretch.

Onedayatatime24 · 06/11/2023 15:56

@Redpanda21 oh I always forget about Facebook! Will look on there.

@Mummyme87 yeah been keeping an eye on vinted but haven't found much I like yet! I find a lot of maternity stuff really boring and stuff I would never wear again so don't want to buy. Guess I could always resell though!

@Mushroo this is basically all I'm wearing atm but getting tired of the same three pairs of leggings on repeat 😂 it's either leggings or dress and tights!

Mushroo · 06/11/2023 15:59

@Onedayatatime24 yup that’s also my life right now 😂

Mummyme87 · 06/11/2023 16:10

All I wear at the moment is jeans and t shirt or jeans and jumper. I did find some old maternity stuff in the loft but the dresses don’t fit 😖 just a bit tight.

Kalodin · 06/11/2023 16:13

Absolutely love Vinted and definitely remember that you can resell it too @Onedayatatime24 . I was also sizing up on things like loose fitting dresses and getting away with wearing them even though they weren't maternity.

I swear I only put stain free clothes away @Mummyme87 But when DH got them out to look through he said half of them were now yellow stained. So annoyed. Must be a thing where the stain worsens with time? Anyway, he hasn't had any luck removing them despite trying a few suggestions and hacks etc.

TunnocksTCake · 06/11/2023 16:15

@Onedayatatime24 I have found most maternity trousers are too tight for this stage (Im 31 weeks) - the seam that goes under the belly is uncomfortable so I'm sticking to leggings and still getting some wear out of oversized shirts in the next size up. lots have big slits at the bottom so allow for a lot of growth! I bought a fair amount of mat clothes from Vinted and have managed to easily sell it all on once I get too pregnant for it!! Definitely just wearing the same 3/4 things on repeat!
I do need to get some new pants though, mine are getting v uncomfortable!!

LittleAlien24 · 06/11/2023 16:21

@Mummyme87 i actually used bleach that's meant for clothes on white items and colourful ones i poured my normal eco washing liquid on the stain, more straight into the washing machine (not into drawer), longer and a bit hotter wash and got them sorted.

@Kalodin if these were white/cream clothes and you washed them before putting them away then that's what happens unfortunately. Somehow white/cream clothes go yellow when stored away. I manage to get them clean with bleach that's meant for clothes.

Kalodin · 06/11/2023 16:25

It only seems to be wear DS would have sicked or dribbled oddly though @LittleAlien24 But thankfully isn't on everything. Do you have a link for the bleach you could recommend?

MrsJ6921 · 06/11/2023 16:41

@Onedayatatime24 I personally don’t like buying second hand clothes so I can’t comment on vinted etc. However, I really rate M&S maternity Jeggings! I got them in my normal size and they’re great. They were only £19.50.

I’ve bought a couple of pairs of maternity leggings from ASOS and a couple of pairs of H&M maternity tights.

I mainly wear knitted midi dresses again from H&M, New Look and ASOS and have just sized up one size. And also H&M are really good this time of year for oversized knitwear.

WitcheryDivine · 06/11/2023 17:39

It's a relief to hear it's not just me struggling with what to wear. If it's giant jumpers and jeggings/leggings at home it's fine. But realistically I need some things I can wear to a smart working environment til at least 36 weeks - any thoughts? I can't stand the sort of bodycon dresses they often have in maternity sections of online shops, I had a look in H&M the other day and I've never seen such horrible clothes (like their stuff usually)

If anyone has any ideas of what I can wear to look acceptably smart up to about 8 months preg I'd really appreciate it!

Dannic2018 · 06/11/2023 17:45

I had a lot yellow stained that weren’t when I put them in the tubs, didn’t know that’s what happens. I had a lovely white cardi from next and a big yellow stain near the buttons and I put a bit of Ace for whites on then straight into the wash with non bio and it’s come out. The sun is definitely my go to, but no good at this time of year 🤣🤣

Sambeaumont · 06/11/2023 18:40

@Onedayatatime24 have you tried shein for maternity bits. Good quality for the price xx

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 06/11/2023 19:19

@WitcheryDivine I like some of the dresses and trousers on Seraphine and Isabelle Oliver. They get some bits in the sale very discounted. The dresses convert to nursing ones so don't feel like such a waste (plus worn them for two pregnancies now so getting my monies worth). And look okay with a blazer over them. The trousers do look very smart

sashastuck · 06/11/2023 19:48

I keep getting way behind on this thread sorry! But @Kalodin just seen the photos of beautiful Clara on Facebook, she is gorgeous! 😍 I understand your worry but like everyone has said, she is in the best hands and you won’t be in the same position twice. I hope she has a strong recovery, sending love x

Thinking of you too @PartRadish !

Kalodin · 06/11/2023 20:34

Those who've had babies before, postpartum swelling... when does it go down? I swear mines getting worse. I don't recall having it like this before.

Thank you @sashastuck She is a dinky thing but so so feisty!

Mummyme87 · 06/11/2023 21:21

@Kalodin last time mine got worse for about a week before it started to get better. Was two weeks before it settled. I remember waking up at home and half of my face was swollen, looked like I had ten rounds with Mike Tyson… was just the fluid sitting on one side. Feet were enormous!

Kalodin · 06/11/2023 21:51

Oh I was really hoping it be like a week tops and it would be starting to settle soon @Mummyme87 ! Is such an odd thing to get isn't it, you'd think pregnancy symptoms are enough without the postpartum ones too
