@PartRadish hope everything is okay and it's all just precautionary ❤️

Redpanda21 · 03/11/2023 14:02

100 new notifications!

@Kalodin huge congratulations! Hopefully babies NICU stay is short and you both recover quickly xx

Mushroo · 03/11/2023 14:03

@PartRadish hope all ok, keep us updated.

@Mummyme87 that’s so crap! Definitely fine to be upset about it. I echo what the others have said about calling in sick for a couple of days, you definitely deserve to

Mummyme87 · 03/11/2023 14:07

@PartRadish glad your cervix isn’t doing anything. They will be referring to ‘Multips OS’ - multip being someone who has given birth before so always looks a bit open and OS is the opening to the cervix. Also glad you have a feeling it’s not it and going to settle.

so I’ve just got an email from occ health with a supporting letter to estates for a 3month permit to park. Least they’ve done their bit, we will see how quickly estates do their job

1992H · 03/11/2023 15:36

Thankyou to whoever mentioned the boots sale, finally ordered the snuzpod, along with maternity pads as found boots best with my older two!
Also ordered the cot & mattress, bedding, baby monitor and nursing chair this week, and built my sons wardrobe so I can steal his chest of drawers for baby.

no idea where the past 30 weeks have gone. 10 weeks to go with Christmas and both boys’ birthdays in the mix, (and their joint party at a trampoline park the day before I’m due, cutting it fine this time 😳) I’m so not ready, hopefully I can evict my husband out his office so she has a room in the next week or two and we can get cracking converting the outhouse into his office. by 20 weeks with my first everything was brought. Washed, set up and ready, definitely more lax third time around.

Mummyme87 · 03/11/2023 18:27

@1992H its crazy isn’t it! Where has the time gone. I’m trying to enjoy it knowing it’s the last time but it’s hard. I think Christmas being in between now and the babies makes it more stressful!!

I looked in John Lewis at the UPPAbaby Cruz and really like it. The carrycot is very bulky for the car but that’s only a short space of time it’s actually needed. Got a few bits aswell like couple of baby towels, more 0-1m vests and babygrows, some Weleda nipple cream, and metanium nappy cream (both of the latter were reduced in boots). Went back to primark which was carnage, got another set of the button up pjs and a short sleeve button up nightie for labour. The diffuser I ordered from Amazon also arrived to take on, it was £13 and looks decent enough.

sashastuck · 03/11/2023 18:29

So glad you got your permit @Mummyme87 I really feel for you in the job you’re in. You must feel like you never stop!

@PartRadish fingers crossed everything is okay for you ❤️

Cried today because there were no spaces for me to park at Tesco Express and I couldn’t get a sandwich. So so so tired and don’t know how I can continue this commute to/from work every day. I’ve spent 3.5 hours behind the wheel today

sashastuck · 03/11/2023 18:30

@Mummyme87 I also got a short sleeved button up nightie - have already been wearing it and it’s the comfiest thing ever. Hope you got the same one! (From the mat range)

Mummyme87 · 03/11/2023 18:33

@sashastuck probably the same. Was the maternity range.
haven’t got permit yet. Occ health sent the supporting letter, estates have emailed some generic application form and it says they want me to pay £450 a month for the privilege. It would be cheaper to park in the patient car park 😡 I emailed them back to discuss further but of course 4pm on a Friday they probably turned the computer off as they sent the form. I cried again. The trust just make me so mad.

sashastuck · 03/11/2023 19:11

@Mummyme87 oh ffs. Surely it should be a reasonable adjustment for you. That patient carpark is horrible as well, it’s always a nightmare to find a space and for that price 😤 really really hope something works out for you. I also agree that you should take a couple of sick days, you deserve the rest and if you go in angry/upset every day you will resent it more and more.

Hummusanddipdip · 03/11/2023 19:41

Geez @Mummyme87 because everyone's got that much spare floating around a month! Like @sashastuck the parking situation should be a reasonable adjustment surely?

Hope you had a nice relaxing day shopping for baby bits.

@sashastuck that's a lot of driving! Are you able to reduce the amount of time you spend on the road at all? It must be so tiring!

Mummyme87 · 03/11/2023 19:46

@sashastuck that’s a big commute. When are you planning on finishing?

LittleAlien24 · 03/11/2023 20:22

@Mummyme87 hopefully they sort something out with your permit

I was feeling really off today, missing my DH so much, baby pushing down and every way i was wasn't comfortable. Finally this evening got some good news. Feeling a bit excited now. Electrician and worker were in discussing new wiring. Got quotes from both of them that we accepted so works will start on Monday hopefully. Only hard part is that 3 to 4 weeks we'll have constant chiseling and dust plus moving things from room to room but it's a step closer to getting things done.

WitcheryDivine · 03/11/2023 21:38

I’d write straight back to estates and say you assume that was an error because pregnancy is a protected characteristic under the law and they cannot charge you £400+ to come to work just because (essentially) you are pregnant.

EL27 · 03/11/2023 21:49

I find it so exciting buying all bits for baby but also so overwhelming!

We still haven't got Pram/car seat yet we did test out some in Mamas and Papas not long ago and really liked the iCandy Peach but unfortunatly out of our price range however I found this website which its advertised over 50% cheaper than mamas and papas and apparently includes a car seat as well 🤔

I am sceptical to order off here. Anyone heard of this brand or good at sussing out websites legit or not? Don't want to be scammed!

ICANDY PEACH 7 WITH COMPLETE ACCESSORY BUNDLE - All Colours

The ultimate pushchair for first time parents, the world’s definitive, luxury single to double pushchair beautifully engineered, designed to fit perfectly around you and your baby. Suitable from birth due to the spacious carrycot which can also be used...

Mummyme87 · 03/11/2023 22:25

@EL27 seems quite a discount. There are loads of online shops where it will be cheaper, just not sure about that one.

@WitcheryDivine well I’ve emailed estates asking for clarification, we will see. But will definitely throw that at them if they don’t give me the answer I’m after

Salamander91 · 03/11/2023 22:43

@EL27 I wouldn't trust it. I suspect they've called themselves babiie because theres a brand called my babiie so if anyone googled reviews that would come up and they would think it's legit.

Ttcdcno1 · 04/11/2023 08:25

@EL27 search for them on trust pilot. That’ll tell you how legit they are 👍

Ttcdcno1 · 04/11/2023 08:32

@EL27 yeah I wouldn’t trust. They’ve only had one review. Like @Salamander91 said it’ll be so they come up instead of my babiie.

sashastuck · 04/11/2023 08:41

@EL27 agree with the others unfortunately!! X

@Hummusanddipdip @Mummyme87 I could start getting public transport instead but that’s not really a win because of how packed and gross it can be! I’m finishing work on 21st Dec (38 weeks) so it’s going to be really hard but I do think if it gets too much I’ll ask if I can leave work at say 2:45 instead of 3-3:30 (I know I leave quite early but I start at 7 and have a lot less responsibility atm!) It makes all the difference not getting so stuck in the school traffic.

EL27 · 04/11/2023 09:17

@Salamander91 @Ttcdcno1 @sashastuck thank you, thought it was too good to be true! Last thing I want is to get scammed out of money before baby comes.

I'm really struggling with work now I think I have been having a lot of pelvic girdle pain mainly in hips and thighs and my job is quite active which I think makes it worse (over 10k steps a day). My whole body aches more than when I've done hiking/half marathon training in the past. Pregnancy is crazy!

LozzieLoo · 04/11/2023 11:39

@EL27 it might be worth waiting until Black Friday to see if mamas and papas or other stores have a discount?

Our pram and car seat isn’t being delivered until 20th Dec, hope he doesn’t arrive before then!

RG9895 · 04/11/2023 20:54

@Kalodin congratulations!! Hope you and baby are doing well! Can't believe the first baby has arrived 🥹❤️

Tryna keep up but feel like I have no time atm but no doubt when I'm on mat leave i'll be on here constantly 😂 7 weeks of work left! I can't believe it!!

We had our 3D scan which did not go to plan😂 couldn't see her face at all, good news is she is head down with her back against my belly which is good as i have an anterior placenta! Booked for a rescan but I doubt she will move now and tbh I don't mind if she doesn't as was worrying about her being breach!

Hope you are all doing well, well in the swing of things now her drawers have arrived, they are half filled and started my hospital bag although no where near done! I cant believe we all only have 2 months left. I am getting SO excited!!

Onedayatatime24 · 05/11/2023 11:37

10 weeks left for me today! Eek going by so fast now.

I've noticed movements have changed, far less kicks and more rolling I think? Like pressure I feel as he moves. Anyone else?

Also how many muslins is too many? We have 12 so far in a mix of sizes, do I need more??

Also so exciting hearing everyone getting nurseries ready, I have no idea what to do with ours!

Mummyme87 · 05/11/2023 11:58

@Onedayatatime24 I’ve got about 20 Muslins I think, mainly from DS2. Depends on your baby as to how many you might need. We went through multiple a day with DS1 as his reflux was so bad, they are handy for a multi due of things though, so for me the more the better!!
