I've decided on the maxi cosi Iora air. I like the look of it the most I think.

I definitely was at 28 weeks, now at 31 weeks it seems to be more of a daily dance party and I'm hoping it stays that way.

Genuinely scared to read on here whoever said if the babies are slightly early we might have them next month!!!!

Thank you @WitcheryDivine that makes me feel better.

Bims2019 · 02/11/2023 19:11

Hope you and baby are ok @Kalodin, and congratulations!

MrsJ6921 · 02/11/2023 20:40

@Kalodin congratulations! Hope you and baby are doing well.

Kalodin · 02/11/2023 21:02

Thank you all, baby girl is doing all okay. Can't beleive she only weighs 1lbs 8oz. I'm also doing okay too, I know it wasn't the birth I wanted but really glad I done all the research before and utilised tools I had practised and even got delayed cord clamping too still! I was also allowed to wait and watch her get ready to be transferred down to NICU in theatre from my bed, rather than be moved straight to recovery as I knew to ask.

Onedayatatime24 · 02/11/2023 21:07

@Kalodin wow congrats! Wishing a speedy recovery for you and baby girl. First Christmas soon ❤️

@HopeAndStrength I'm same as @WitcheryDivine still had quiet days at 28 weeks, I'll be 30 this weekend and baby has been pretty active for a solid week or more so think they're starting to be more regular/noticeable. Movements definitely changed though, used to be more kicks, now it's a lot more rolling/stretching. Not sure if that's normal!

1992H · 02/11/2023 21:13

Congratulations @Kalodin, hope you recover well and get a smooth NICU journey ahead. Best wishes for you and your little girl in the days & weeks ahead

Mummyme87 · 02/11/2023 21:17

@Kalodin congratulations on the arrival of Aria. Hope she continues to do well and you’re recovering well.

I had more palpitations and shortness of breath today at work. Ended up having an ECG done in triage (where I was working 😬😂), load of bloods which confirms iron deficiency anaemia, and referral to the arrhythmia clinic. Joy.

lucya66 · 02/11/2023 21:21

@Kalodin congrats and wishing you both health xx

PartRadish · 02/11/2023 21:26

@Kalodin Baby girl 😍 I KNEW that sneak peak test was wrong!! 😆 Think that's all of us on this thread who already had three boys with a girl this time!

I'm so glad you were still able get some of your birth preferences. Fantastic that she got delayed cord clamping, hopefully that will have given her a good headstart!

buckingmad · 02/11/2023 21:42

@Kalodin congratulations! Glad you’re both doing ok xx

Vikki7 · 02/11/2023 22:09

Wow @Kalodin ! First baby of the group! Congratulations! I'm praying for an easy NICU journey for your little girl, I'm glad to hear you're both doing well and wish you all the best for you and your little girls recovery. Fantastic that you had done your research and knew that you could stay together whilst baby was being prepared and that you had delayed cord clamping. 🌹🌹

Dannic2018 · 02/11/2023 22:15

Massive congratulations on your baby girl @Kalodin how beautiful for you all. Sending lots of love for a the new chapter ahead. First baby of our little group, I can’t believe it! Scary to think a lot of us could be having our babies next month 😳 shit, shit and shit need to get my arse into gear 🤣🤣

LittleAlien24 · 02/11/2023 23:02

@Hummusanddipdip so sorry about your dog
@Salamander91 i was planning on getting a special bedside crib but then found a cot that can be used as bedside cot (1 side slides under the cot) so got this one and have the baby nest to put into it
@Kalodin congratulations. Glad to hear she's doing ok. Speedy recovery to you.
@Mummyme87 hope you get sorted with your iron and palpitations

My little one is still sitting low, making walking and getting up from couch hard. Been busy last few days removing old paint and layers of old plaster and even cement off the walls. And we haven't even finished one room yet 🙄

Mummyme87 · 03/11/2023 10:24

Urgh I’m so angry with work. Occ health have responded asking for my work risk assessment… did my manager ever do one, no of course not. And she’s not in today. Why is it so bloody difficult to just let me park on site, it’s an absolute joke. I work my arse off for that place, I could have easily gone home yesterday but no I pushed through, I’ve had no sick days in pregnancy (rarely off sick anyway) when I see so many colleagues going on non clinical duties at the drop of a hat.
I’m sat in the car crying because I’m so done with them and obviously very hormonal.

arghhhh just arghhhh.

Inmydreams88 · 03/11/2023 10:49

@Kalodin Congratulations, I hope your both doing okay ❤️

I ordered the Ickle Bubba and me bedside crib in Ash Grey from Babyandco.com Managed to get it for £128 with an 5% discount code and it includes the mattress and two spare sheets.

Also ordered a Clair De Lune Moses basket for £100 which includes the rocking stand from their website with 20% off discount code.

Hummusanddipdip · 03/11/2023 10:59

Oh @Mummyme87 that's awful!!! Can they do anything without the risk assessment to hand?

To be fair I wouldn't blame you if you just turned around and went back home. It's unfair!

Ds went back to school today after his isolation period. I told his teacher about our pup, I managed to hold it together, but still ended up crying... I really wish I didn't cry so easily. I called dh on my walk back home and he said its progress that I wasn't crying from the off!! I need to talk to my head teacher and let her know what's happened. I don't know if it's better to teams her today, or pop into her office Monday morning?

Mummyme87 · 03/11/2023 11:04

@Hummusanddipdip i’m not in work today, was in the car to go out. They won’t do anything without a risk assessment, I’m in tomorrow and my line manager is luckily doing a bank clinical shift (because I’m the only band 7 in the unit) so she will have to do it then, but just more delays when it could have gone today. I’m just frustrated when I have been trying so hard. Anyway, off to look at baby stuff today and will treat myself to a Pret.

could you speak to the head teacher after school? I’m an easy crier aswell.. hence this morning

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 03/11/2023 11:12

@Kalodin hope you recover well and your new little one is doing well. Congrats!

@Mummyme87 I'm normally the last one to advocate for taking sick leave, but honestly here with the palpitations, low iron, and adjustments not made I think you should take a couple of days sick. You'll probably feel masses better after a break, and you are working when you're feeling ill, so it's not wrong to take it.

PartRadish · 03/11/2023 11:57

Just in triage. Had a teeny bit of spotting late last night and some shooting/pulling pain in my cervix. Was worried it was the stitch pulling so rang this morning and they said to come in. Did two rounds on the monitor and both our heartrates are a little on the high side and I'm having lots of tightenings.

Not sure what number on the toco thing is a concern but they're going up to about 45/50. Dr is on the way to do an internal to check cervix/stitch anyway.

Mummyme87 · 03/11/2023 12:35

@PartRadish hope all is well and stitch is staying put!! The toco number doesn’t actually matter just that there’s uterine activity. Are you feeling the uterine activity at all?

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I’m not an advocate for going off sick either, it’s the last thing I would do, but I am 100% going to start going off now. I’m done.

PartRadish · 03/11/2023 12:39

Cervix looks okay. I think. The actual answer I got was 'cervix looks like we expect when you've had loads of kids but I can't see her head so that's good' 😕 I'm not totally sure what that means. Partosure test is negative though but they're admitting me anyway. I think mostly because I have a history of very fast and preterm labours. Just waiting for a bed. Tbh I think it'll all stop, I just don't feel like this is it, better safe than sorry though I guess!

OP posts:
PartRadish · 03/11/2023 12:40

@Mummyme87 Yes I can feel them. A few have been a quite uncomfortable but not too awful.

I agree with @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 - it's time to call in sick. Do you have a good GP? Mine wrote me a "fit note" recently saying that I was only able to work with certain adjustments in place, perhaps yours could do the same.

It's utterly crap they haven't done a risk assessment with you when your workplace has a lot of hazards in it! (substances, unpredictable patients, slippery floors errrr)

LittleAlien24 · 03/11/2023 13:15

@Mummyme87 sorry to hear that you have to go through this. Hopefully shopping for baby items will help to cheer you up
@PartRadish fingers crossed everything goes well for you and baby stats in for a bit longer
