I really think I’m having a boy - despite difficulty getting it my scan picture was quite clear - most people I’ve shown have said boy (pic is cropped here)

@Ttcmumma yes! My nipples have been dry and really itchy. No one tells you about these parts of pregnancy haha. Occasionally as well they seize up and get really sore like they’re burning. I googled it and it said it’s normal but it feels horrible 😱

ASGIRC · 31/10/2023 12:22

@Aprilpudding24 @Ttcmumma Ive also had dry itchy nipples! Horrendous! 😂I found moisturiser helped a lot!
It has now gone away as randomly as it appeared!

Pinkstuffs · 01/11/2023 17:19

Really scared today. I started spotting brown this afternoon which turned into heavier rust coloured blood. I called EPU and waiting for a call back. Really hoping all is ok but not too confident!

Ttcmumma · 01/11/2023 17:52

@Pinkstuffs I've got everything crossed for you! How far along are you? x

SummerOak · 01/11/2023 17:53

@Pinkstuffs hope everything turns out well and it's just some old blood from somewhere. I know any sign of bood makes you worry, but it really could be nothing. I'd definitely go to the hospital and ask for a scan or doppler to hear the heartbeat though.

sugarplum33 · 01/11/2023 17:57

@Pinkstuffs Thinking of you and hope you are seen and reassured soon.

Have you checked your maternity notes though to check that EPU is the right point of contact at this point? Our hospital's EPU says it sees women only up to 12 weeks. The maternity assessment unit though is only from 22 weeks so I'm not sure what we do in the weeks in between but just wondering if there might be any other number you could call?

Mrsttcno1 · 01/11/2023 18:17

I’ve got my fingers crossed for you @Pinkstuffs, how far along are you currently? Our hospitals EPU is up to 13 weeks, after that you go to triage in the Pregnancy Assessment Unit and you can actually just go in there yourself the same as you would go to a&e if you feel you need to be assessed so maybe see if your hospital has something similar x

Pinkstuffs · 01/11/2023 18:41

Thanks guys. It’s definitely EPU until 16 weeks where I am and I’m 15 weeks. The nurse called but put it down to me being constipated, so I had a scan this evening and everything was ok. I could hear babies heartbeat, and it’s boy as I thought!

ZB86 · 01/11/2023 18:52

@Pinkstuffs so glad everything is ok x

sugarplum33 · 01/11/2023 18:59

Great news @Pinkstuffs x

SummerOak · 01/11/2023 19:08

@Pinkstuffs glad it was all ok and congratulations on your baby boy xx

Hush32 · 01/11/2023 20:39

So weird, same with me today. I had a big bleed at around 11 weeks (very different though - bright red blood and very heavy) and all was fine. On the scan they could see where the blood had come from and said it might happen again when it heals. I rang the EPU today and they said to just monitor for now and if it gets heavier/bright red blood appears to ring back for an appointment. Hope you’re ok, hard not to panic when you see blood isn’t it 😢

Ttcmumma · 02/11/2023 16:46

Hey ladies, my 5 year old threw a tantrum and slammed into my belly quite hard. He's about 3 stone and 4 ft tall so he's not all that small anymore. Should I be worried? I know some impact is fine but I took the hit on my belly as I didn't see it coming, I turned my back on him instantly so he couldn't get my belly again. He doesn't know btw, I think he will be more careful when I eventually tell him

sweetdreams23 · 02/11/2023 20:13

@Ttcmumma oh no what a worry. I’m sure baby is nice and cushioned in there but if worried there’s no harm in calling your midwife. I have found since we told my daughter (age 3) she has been super gentle and careful with me. But totally understand why you may not feel ready to tell him yet!

MumDaisy1980 · 02/11/2023 20:15

@Ttcmumma sorry to hear that! I apply myself a general rule of thumb by reminding myself ‘nature take care itself’ and if there is no fresh bleeding or anything severe abdominal pain (as advice from midwife). There is no need for immediate actions. ..and of course be careful in general.

if really keeping you up, I see no harm to give midwife a call or see health professional too.

Hope it helps!

Ttcmumma · 02/11/2023 20:51

@sweetdreams23 @MumDaisy1980 thank you ladies! No pain or bleeding, just think I needed to hear from someone else that she's very much so cushioned in there and safe. I can kind of feel her now and think I've felt some movement since which is comforting. I'm telling him after the 20 week scan on the 20th. I miscarried at 14 weeks in January and he was heartbroken so I'm trying to get all the checks done before telling him just incase! will be much easier when he knows and I can remind him to be gentle with my belly! At the moment he just thinks I'm getting fat 🤣

1994jk · 03/11/2023 06:59

Does anyone else have a clear watery discharge quote a lot of the time? Is this normal? I'm worried it's amniotic fluid leaking but I wouldn't know how to tell the difference! I'm 14+3 now.

SummerOak · 03/11/2023 09:06

@1994jk I have some watry discharge as well. I think that's normal. Do you have your 16 week midwife appointment booked already? Maybe ask her for some reassurance, I don't think it's anything to worry about.

1994jk · 03/11/2023 11:48

@SummerOak thanks for your reply, yes I do but its not for another couple of weeks. Might just give them a call on Monday for some reassurance. I feel like there is constantly something for me to worry about 🙄😩

Cora24601 · 03/11/2023 15:14

@1994jk try not to worry, I'm 18 weeks now and have been having this on and off for a while. From google it's completely normal and to do with our cervix shedding cells and keeping us free from infection 😊 not pleasant but harmless I believe! Lots of pregnancy info I've come across say increased discharge is to be expected. As long as it's not foul smelling or a funny colour it's normal.

SummerOak · 04/11/2023 18:46

Anyone feel terrible lower backache? I went for a long walk today and it started while I was on my way back. Now I'm walking like an old lady around the house. I think it might be PGP, but I'm only 17 weeks, sounds too early for that.

Mrsttcno1 · 04/11/2023 18:48

Yeah @SummerOak I’m the same! We have a 2 year old Labrador so I’m out walking for at least 2 hours a day currently and I almost always have a sore lower back and a bit achey afterwards but a warm bath typically sorts it out! I mentioned it to the midwife and they just put it down to everything relaxing plus getting heavier x

Growinganaries · 04/11/2023 19:36

Hey!
Haven't posted in a while, hope you're all doing good :)

Looking for a bit of reassurance/advice.

I'm 19 weeks and I've been getting off pains etc throughout the whole of pregnancy so far. Tonight I got a really severe cramp, super low in my pelvis. It really felt like a baaaad period cramp and just cramped down for like 2-3mins straight. So much so it made me yelp snd grip my husbands arm for the whole time. It hasn't happened before or since and so far haven't had any other symptoms with it eg no bleeding etc.

Do y'all think it's part of normal spectrum of pains or could be worrying?

Thank you 🙏

SummerOak · 04/11/2023 19:57

@Mrsttcno1 I'll try to put some heat on my back or maybe a hot shower as unfortunately we don't have a bath. But it's so annoying, isn't it? Hope it doesn't get worse for either of us.

@Growinganaries haven't had anything like that yet, but could it be early Braxton Hicks? I read they can start in second trimester. If it happens again maybe call the maternity unit and see what they say.
