Has anyone used the Lua bedside crib before? Looking at buying one so wanted some opinions beforehand thanks.

Mrsttcno1 · 09/02/2024 15:06

We have bought one @Ek21, everybody I know who have had babies have used one and it has come highly recommended! It’s absolutely gorgeous and feels really well made compared to some of the other cheaper ones we considered and looked at. X

Cora24601 · 09/02/2024 16:31

@Pinkstuffs my ferritin went from 70 odd to 30 at my 28 week appointment and they left a note on the results on my app, (they never actually called me) to go to 1 Iron tab a day. I've been taking them with orange juice to increase absorption and even though I didn't think I was tired before, I do feel better. If they haven't left a note maybe give a call, I would think they would advise you to up them if it's gone to 15. Every trust seems to do something different though!

Ttcmumma · 09/02/2024 17:24

@Cora24601 @Pinkstuffs what measurements is your hb in? Mine is 109 g/l and I'm on two 210mg iron a day x

Cora24601 · 09/02/2024 17:47

@Ttcmumma these were my results, I mis remembered my ferritin it was lower than I thought 😬 no idea what HB is but they then put me on 1 pregaday tab a day which is 322 mg iron. I'm 32 weeks now so it was a while ago and I can really feel the difference the last 2 weeks I've been having them with orange juice.

@Cora24601 just realised ours are given in slightly different measurements so in comparison to yours, mine is 10.9

Petris123 · 09/02/2024 21:17

@Cora24601 @Pinkstuffs @Ttcmumma I just got a message from the doctors saying I was prescribed iron tablets, but no results available on the app and I wasn't contacted. I'm on 210 mg tablets twice a day. By the way are you taking them with food or before? I'm taking them with food as I want to avoid the stomach issues, but I need to avoid taking them with all sorts (dairy, eggs, a lot of fibres), it's getting a bit difficult! 🙄

Ttcmumma · 09/02/2024 21:37

@Petris123 without but not intentionally lol I haven't had any stomach issues with them, besides darker stool. I take them with orange juice

YourLocal · 09/02/2024 22:00

My sisters twins are due 17th April x

MumDaisy1980 · 09/02/2024 23:51

today I struggle with breathing. I wonder if anyone experience something similar ?

at First I couldn’t tell if it’s heartburn, but I don’t have reflux. Just feel pressure on the chest.
when going to bed , especially like on side just feel increasingly chest pain. Then mild breathlessness.

called the midwife, saying not preg related and asked me go a&e. But instinct not think need to go a&e. Symptoms relatively mild. But slightly concern.

🙄

I've been prescribed ferrous sulphate 200mg once a day this week as iron has dropped

Petris123 · 10/02/2024 08:37

@Emmerdaleaddict I was prescribed ferrous fumarate. Are you taking it with food or without?

@MumDaisy1980 maybe you could talk to a GP or call 111?

sugarplum33 · 10/02/2024 11:59

@MumDaisy1980 I understand your reluctance to go to a&e but I think speaking to 111 or anyone else regarding chest pain and breathlessness and you'll get the same response that it's a hospital job to get checked out. Breathlessness can be increasingly common in the third trimester as everything gets squashed but the accompanying chest pain sounds a bit more strange. Hope you're feeling better.

Mrsttcno1 · 10/02/2024 14:27

I would definitely call 111, see GP or go to a&e @MumDaisy1980 when you are experiencing chest pain you do really need to be seen. I have horrendous heartburn and I’m almost constantly breathless, both of which are really common in third trimester especially, but have no pain and if I ever did I’d be straight to a&e x

Taking it with food! I have a routine of thyroxine when I wake, blood thinners when I go downstairs, iron with tea, prenatal vitamin before bed!

MumDaisy1980 · 11/02/2024 22:09

@Petris123 @sugarplum33 @Mrsttcno1 thank you!

what happened the other night, I sat upright for a period of time . Probably 45mjns. Then eventually dose off.

will definitely call 111 next time, which I didn’t think of that. And on the safe side to go a&e.

indeed about breathlessness, I simply walked half of my previous pace now. I am an impatient person and got annoyed by myself being walking so slow haaaa 😅

Aprilpudding24 · 12/02/2024 08:25

Hey everyone

hope you’re all doing well

I haven’t posted in a while so not sure if this has already been covered but is anyone else experiencing PGP?
I’ve been having trouble with my hips for months during the night but just assumed it was due to being forced to sleep on my side n the extra weight but over the last two days Ive been in crippling pain. I can barely walk or turn over without a really sharp shooting pain coming up from my pubic bone area accompanied by throbbing hips and lower back.
I’ve googled it to death and it sounds like something called PGP and taken note of some recommendations. I have an appointment on Friday with the GP but just wanted to know if anyone else was suffering and what it’s been like for them?

hannah xx

Ttcmumma · 12/02/2024 08:31

@Aprilpudding24 I have it super mildly, I can only explain it as my groin area feels like it's crunching when I walk in the mornings 😅. Luckily it doesn't spread to my whole pelvis and I can usually walk it off in the first hour or two of the day. I mentioned it to my midwife to just make sure all was normal and she said it's fine but she can refer me to see a specialist for exercises etc to help relieve the symptoms. I opted not to as I'm managing fine myself but may be something for you to consider as it sounds worse for you! My sister has also had it since about 22 weeks, quite early on x

Aprilpudding24 · 12/02/2024 08:49

Oh that’s good you’re able to walk it off. I hope it stays mild for you.
Once I’m up and about it still feels sore but bearable. whenever the little one wiggles though I think she head butts the spot as I get a really strong jolt of pain 😅
I’m assuming they will send me to physio. I’ve read some women have to use a wheelchair or crutches for the remainder of their pregnancy. I’m really hoping I don’t have such a severe case as I’ve still got so much to do! 🤞

BVIre · 12/02/2024 10:39

Hi everyone! Just wondering if anyone has had an extra scan at 32 weeks to check for a low lying placenta before? I have mine on Friday, it was flagged at my 20 week scan but they didn’t seem to bothered about it and when I came away and googled it seems that the placenta does normally move out of the way by the 32 week scan! But just wondering if anyone has had one before and what to expect? Do they just check the placenta or do I get to see wee baby too and get growth measurements etc?

because I’ve been low risk all my appointments have been very fleeting and haven’t seen the baby since the 20 week scan so just trying to manage my expectations! Thanks in advance xo

sweetdreams23 · 12/02/2024 11:20

@BVIre hi, I had this in my previous pregnancy. Scan was an internal scan which wasn’t particularly pleasant at that point in pregnancy but fine. They literally just checked position of baby didn’t really see much of baby as not purpose of scan. my placenta had moved so nothing further had to done. Most of the time I think the placenta does move :) hope that helps, obviously may be different for different trusts but that was my experience !

Amf2508 · 12/02/2024 12:05

@BVIre hi, I had a low lying placenta at 20 week scan. Had to have a follow up at 32 weeks, mine was posterior and they couldn't see it fully so had to have an internal scan! I wasn't warned about this but have already had one in this pregnancy so knew what to expect. They checked growth on mine but only because I needed a growth scan anyway. I don't think they would normally do that, just check place of placenta.

ZB86 · 12/02/2024 12:30

@BVIre I was meant to be having one next week but I had an extra scan recently due to concerns regarding movements and they told me my placenta had moved up so they've cancelled the scan. My bump measured off the chart at last midwife appointment before I found out placenta had moved up, I asked if they would be able to check size of baby at 32 week scan and she said no they literally just check the placenta x

BVIre · 12/02/2024 13:25

Thanks so much everyone! Really appreciate it- glad I asked lol as I thought I would get a full wee update on baby as well! I don’t need growth scans at present so it’ll probably just be the placenta check so good to manage my expectations😂

SummerOak · 12/02/2024 14:57

How do Braxton Hicks feel like? I went for a walk and after a while I had these tightenings below my belly button all the way to pubic bone. They kept coming for about 15 minutes. It was a bit uncomfortable, I had to stop and take deep breaths. I sat at a cafe for a while and went home, it didn't happen on the walk back. Not sure if those are BH or just baby making big uncomfortable movements while walking.
