Hi all
I am due 13th May so 15 weeks tomorrow and I think my bump seems big?
I am size 8-10 pre pregnancy and 5 ft 6
I had only gained 3lb at my 13 week appointment (not that that bothers me anyway!) And my bump is rock hard
Is anyone else showing and does this look normal?? First baby!
Picture attached thanks :)

@Laura96 - I'm showing too. Was bigger than you to begin with but proportionately I think our bumps are the same. I too thought it was big for the stage I'm at (due May 14), but if you Google "14 weeks pregnant bump" you'll see it's pretty normal!

Sa11yCinnamon · 19/11/2023 10:57

@Laura96 you look great! I'm 13+5 and just look like I've had a big lunch, it's solid though, can't wait to have a proper wee bump.

SarahBowie · 19/11/2023 11:37

@Laura96 you look amazing. I’m 14 weeks today and my bump is bigger than yours. I started showing at 12 weeks and it’s just not stopped since then! I’m a 12-14 so bigger than you size wise and was expecting the little chub tummy to hide things for a while but that’s not happened.

It’s my first too so not sure why I’m so big, baby is fine in there at least. My mum had a very big bump with me so not sure if genes play a part in this too.

Rose5555 · 19/11/2023 11:43

I’m the same too. @Laura96 im normally a size 8-10 and I’m 5ft 10. This is my third baby so I probably popped a little more quickly if anything. Mine is a similar size of bump though and I’m 14 weeks - although not entirely rock hard (I have been indulging in a lot of crisps and cake as per the baby’s requests…..!) so mine has a definite layer of squidge on it too. Bumps come in all shapes and sizes. Don’t worry about it at all. Yours looks lovely and healthy and just as it should!

Darladoes · 19/11/2023 12:24

@Laura96 beautiful bump! I'm 13+3 and my bump is huge, like I'm 20 weeks 🙈
I'm putting it down to it being my third 😂

Laura96 · 19/11/2023 12:50

Thanks all made me feel a lot better!!!! I think it just seems big to me I'm sure this will feel like nothing come third trimester!!!

GratefulMum10 · 19/11/2023 21:27

@Laura96 very similar bump to you and I was also size 8-10 pre pregnancy. I'm 13+4. I definitely haven't done proper exercise for about 7 weeks apart from walking so I definitely feel I have a fat layer and my boobs are also getting bigger noticeably.
today looking at my face in the mirror, that also looks chubbier.

All would be fine but my concern was it's not even half way through pregnancy! My mum was tiny at this stage when she had me.

It's made me think about getting into a pregnancy safe exercise regime but so hard to be motivated to do anything other than walking when nausea is on and off!

Laura96 · 19/11/2023 21:57

@GratefulMum10 Aww I wouldn't worry I'm an avid gym goer and have kept it up but not to the extent I did
I know I haven't put on weight anywhere other than bump as all my clothes feel the same apart from waist which is all I go off!!
I think it's hard when you have a work out routine and things and then you feel guilty for not sticking to it well I did anyway but I'm kind of getting over it and realising as long as I'm healthy that's the main thing! My bump changes through the day and day to day too like today it felt tiny this morning like my pre belly again and then big tonight so it is so dependent but when it's my first I keep comparing so hard not to do!!

GratefulMum10 · 19/11/2023 22:04

Thanks and all very true!
Good to hear others experiencing similar feelings too.

Toda11 · 20/11/2023 09:49

I'm showing a similar bump to the picture at 15+2. Normally a size 10-12, however can definitely feel it around the waist on my usual clothes!

PeppedUp · 20/11/2023 11:08

I feel like I’m not really showing that much, but my SIL just told my partner that she knew I was pregnant because when she last saw me a month ago I had a tummy. I feel a bit crap because I think that was just my normal tummy. I feel like the more obvious thing was that I was not drinking wine or coffee even though we were eating out a lot so I wish she had commented on that instead.

Nina7 · 20/11/2023 11:14

Aww, lovely bump @Laura96 !
I haven't stuck to my previous exercise regime (which wasn't too intense anyway) because of tiredness and nausea and I've put 3kg already... Combined with the constipation, I've been showing since week 6, but in the wrong way... 😕

Now that the nausea has eased off and I can eat a bit better my weight have stabilised a bit, and I might soon be able to distinguish the baby bump from the accumulated fat and bloating...

A new, really annoying symptom I'm getting the last week is this pelvic pain... Especially on the left side of my pelvis, it feels like it's near the vulva, it's starting to be hard to walk 😬😩
Anyone else has got that?

@PeppedUp Try not to worry - I'm 13 + 1 and not showing at all, in fact I had a girlie coffee on Saturday with a few close friends (who dont know yet) and they were saying that I had lost weight ?!?

That's not very nice of SIL - of all the things she could of commented on 🙄

For me - the sickness seems to have died down, nausea is still there but comes in waves. However I have never been so tired in my life and I have the strongest metallic taste in my mouth all of the time, nothing I try seems to ease the issue and my midwife says some ladies get it, others dont.

Hope everyone has a good week x

I have an NCT class question- I’m so keen to get booked because my parents went and made their best friends during the classes and I’ve grown up like sisters with the other girls from the class. So it’s massively important to me basically!

I just wondered- if I’m due mid may, when is the best time to book for? Is mid March to early as the course lasts about a month or is April better? So hard to know! Is anyone else booking or planning to- if so when? Or any tips from people that have gone before etc…

TheBirdintheCave · 20/11/2023 12:07

@LondonGirl1992 I'm not sure tbh. Ours were all online last time due to Covid and none of the others in the class were neurodiverse so we didn't particularly gel with anyone we met there. And then we moved away shortly after our son was born!

I think I was maybe 32 weeks when we did the course?

Yourowgirl · 20/11/2023 12:40

@PeppedUp I would try to ignore that comment (I know it will be hard). She probably just wanted to make it seem like she knew before you told her, people can be like that sometimes. I am trying to focus on my body being healthy to do the important job it needs to do rather than worrying about weight. We have so much pressure on us as women about how we look, and even pregnancy literature seems to reinforce this. When we are pregnant we should not be overly concerned about calories or weight maintenance, unless it is affecting our physical health or wellbeing. There is enough to think about!

newbie12345678 · 20/11/2023 13:14

@LondonGirl1992 - I'm due 14th May and we're booked on the NCT course from 6th March to 3rd April, if that helps? I remember we deliberated when we booked it too and after asking around our friends suggested we do this one. We booked it quite a while ago as we were warned they book up fast so maybe don't worry so much about exact dates and just get one booked (although I think the website also has advice for when to book if you look for it). X

Toda11 · 20/11/2023 13:56

We are looking at NCT, due on 11th May and probably going to go for 11th-25 March for our course

I agree with this, I reckon she was trying to seem superior. So rude though.

On a vaguely similar note it does my head in when people comment "congratulations again" on announcement posts and I've said I'll block anyone who does that on mine 😂

PeppedUp · 20/11/2023 16:11

Thanks @MrsB2005 @Yourowgirl @Sa11yCinnamon. I feel like I mostly have a pretty healthy attitude to my weight, but I’m still a bit vulnerable to getting thrown by comments like that. I have a history of not feeling very accepted by her as well.

Regarding antenatal class timings, I started mine at around 34 weeks and it went for two weeks. I think there were a couple with due dates about a week ahead of me and then maybe half a dozen with due dates a couple of weeks after me. I wish it had been a great source of local friends but ours was also during COVID and due to it being on zoom we ended up being lumped with people from all over the country. Luckily nursery and the park have since been a source of more local parent friends.

Oh, @Sophie721 that's great news!

I just had mine this morning, telephone call from the midwife and it's high risk, 1/58 chance... I don't know how to take it, I'm really panicking occasionally, then thinking it's still a low percentage and trying to be positive.

They booked me for a NIPT this afternoon, results should be back within 10 working days.

We've also just had a private NIPT on Tuesday but one you send the blood samples by post to who knows where, so I wanted to have an NHS one, thinking it'll be more reliable (and it won't get lost in the post).

I'm trying to be positive, really hoping the NIPT results come back as low 🙏🙏🙏

Both NIPT results came back today, low chance 🤩🥳🎊😍.

I'll so excited!! I feel again I'm pregnant 😊😊😊

Waves hello

Due 9 May here. Booked in for NCT from 6 March. How's everyone feeling? Am currently in weird early 2nd trimester stage of first pregnancy where I feel like my body is gaslighting me as I now have no symptoms and no bump! (I know it's still in there as ob gave me a scan last week but still weird)

SarahBowie · 20/11/2023 18:22

A lot of people are taking about NCT classes, do the NHS not offer antenatal classes anymore?
