@Nina7 sorry to hear you’re going through the stress of more testing. You have a 98% chance of it being okay so I really hope it all works out x

Toda11 · 10/11/2023 13:16

Blood results back today and the triple test came back with a result of less than 1:5000 which seems to be the lowest risk score you can get now as they have stopped having as many different scores.

anyone else had theirs back yet?

Edwards and pataus 1 in 20,000
Downs 1 in 17,121

I'm not sure if this is the same as the triple test? It was done from my blood at the 12 week scan x

Ah yes that’s what I was referring to as the triple test.

Our hospital trust doesn’t have a category less risk than 1:5000, seems to be a change to the way they report the risks that’s being phased in across different trusts

LondonGirl1992 · 10/11/2023 13:52

Eek I just had mine back and it said from the combined test that my chances are-

downs syndrome- 1/200
Edwards or Patau- 1 in 5000

It says no further tests needed as lower chance- but the downs one seems high to me?

From the reading I did, anything above 1:150 is marked as lower chance so doesn’t qualify for any additional checks on the NHS

Eek I feel so nervous now! I felt fine before but now I’m full of total dread

You're still in the low risk range so try not to worry lovely. I know it's easier said than done though xx

LondonGirl1992 · 10/11/2023 14:52

Very true! I think it was initial panic. But I guess it’s only a 0.5% chance which is low in the grand scheme!

SarahBowie · 10/11/2023 16:11

Had my scan this afternoon and all was well :) measuring at 12+5 so my due date is now 19th May.

Little one was having a lazy time after lunch and not wanting to move too much so we couldn’t get a good go at the NT measurement. The sonographer couldn’t see any reason to be worried though as everything looked straight and narrow at the space behind the neck, so apparently that’s good. I can get a blood test after 14 weeks but if she’s not worried then that helps calm my nerves until then too!

Here’s my little one doing some sort of fancy legs in the air move for us.

Sophie721 · 10/11/2023 16:27

@Toda11 mine were both 1/5000 - I assume they've changed to this too as both mine were the same.

Sa11yCinnamon · 10/11/2023 16:29

@Sophie721 yay, congratulations!

Darladoes · 11/11/2023 10:12

Mine have just come back, both are 1/5000.

I'm sure my previous pregnancies my odds were much higher like 1/10000+ so I'm still worrying 😫

Sophie721 · 11/11/2023 11:21

@Darladoes most people I know are only going up to 5,000. I think they've changed that to the max.

PeppedUp · 11/11/2023 13:15

@LondonGirl1992 thats annoying that your results have made you feel worried again. Would you consider getting the NIPT test to put your mind at ease?

My son was 1/350 so I’m a bit conscious mine could be higher risk this time due to my age.

Yeah I spoke to a friend today who said they don’t give higher ratings than 1:5000 any more

TheBirdintheCave · 11/11/2023 15:53

@PeppedUp My score this time was better than when I had my son three years ago 🤷🏻‍♀️ Strange.

Darladoes · 11/11/2023 16:08

@Sophie721 ahh ok that's good to know! :)

Sophie721 · 11/11/2023 16:22

I know it's probably normal but does anyone else feel in a weird limbo? I'm 13 weeks now, scan and bloods all done but I don't feel pregnant - just a bit hungrier/tired than usual. And Ive not got another scan until December so just got to trust the process 😂

FirstTim3Mummy · 11/11/2023 19:51

We told our son today at a private scan.
He was SO excited.
"I love my baby sister mummy!"
He's nearly 4

We had the NIPT as I'm almost 40 and this is our 6th pregnancy. That's how we know the sex

TheBirdintheCave · 11/11/2023 21:07

@Sophie721 Yes I feel that way too.

LondonGirl1992 · 12/11/2023 10:36

I thought about doing the NIPT but then I thought, 1 in 200 is still a 99.5% chance that it’s fine and regardless as to whether it has Down syndrome or not, I’d keep it- so I’m just trying not to worry. My screening wasn’t high enough to warrant any further testing so I have to just hope and trust that it’ll be okay. Maybe that’s a naive way of thinking about it?

Athena1984 · 12/11/2023 11:05

I am 12 weeks 4 days, my nausea is still worse , anyone else in the same boat? My scan is on next Wednesday, can't stop worrying that things are not well 🙁

PeppedUp · 12/11/2023 13:35

@LondonGirl1992 I think that makes sense, especially if it won’t affect what you do.

@Athena1984 I’m 12+5 and still nauseous without signs of getting better. It’s not the worst nausea, but I would love to be able to eat normally again and be able to do more during the weekend.

Toda11 · 13/11/2023 07:22

20 week scan booked for 27th Dec, feel like we are just waiting for that now really and then we will start to make purchases, do the nursery etc.

Feels like a long way off!
