@LeopardLover no letters just all on there, I had loads of issues setting it up but now it's ok just a little hard to navigate!

Is anyone able to tell what position their baby is in? From where my kicks are mine seems to move around all over the place!

Allaboard209 · 21/01/2024 20:35

@Thwam the midwife will be able to tell you at your usual appointments, she feels my tummy and says what position the baby is in.

PurpleSock · 23/01/2024 22:44

@Allaboard209 Oh yes my birthing ball is my favourite place ti sit at the moment, just a shame I can't take it into the office with me 😂 I am starting to find sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day quite uncomfortable now!

@LeopardLover I honestly don't know how your managing either a toddler as well! I mean of course either know plenty do, and all being well I'd like another at some point so I'd have to figure it out but I take my hat off to you!

I feel like I'm very behind furniture & practicalities wise as we're still hoping to move in the next few weeks almost there but waiting on a date)

@Busylizzie85 fingers crossed for your scan! I'm sure all will be fine but it is so worrying isn't it!

@Thwam mine was breach at a growth scan at 31 weeks but head down by 33, I'm 34+5 now and honestly no clue! My midwife hasn't mentioned it at any of my normal appointments either

Hello, I’ve been lurking for a while and finally decided to comment! I’m due at the end of March and have gone fully into nesting mode this month. I’m going through cupboards and decluttering whenever I get a spare moment 😩 I actually want to tidy my attic! Anyone else feeling like they just can’t sit still because there are Things To Do??

Elphamouche · 25/01/2024 19:55

I’m nesting too! Made DH put loft boards in the attic. Cleared and painted the office, in the process of clearing what will be the nursery ready for painting next week. I want to go home from work tonight and carry on sorting, but I won’t get home until 9, so that’s a little unreasonable 😂

REALLY want to deep clean the en-suite but worried about the chemicals and it being in our room.

Might do the kitchen cupboards instead though tonight.

Hiddenvoice · 04/02/2024 15:43

Hope everyone is doing okay!
I’m having bad back and leg pain. It’s been sore for the last few weeks but now it’s unbearable and I can hardly put any weight on my right leg.
I’ve been told by midwife last Monday to self refer to physio but the only leaflet about it on Badgerapp seems to be a referral for walking aids.
Does anyone have any advice? I’m only 33 weeks 🤦‍♀️

Aquarius93 · 04/02/2024 19:32

@Hiddenvoice Bad leg and hip pain here too! For me a lot of the pain I get is in my IT band. I don’t have any advice about physio but I’ve found stretching helps - I try to stretch before bed and in the morning. Bumps & Burpees on Instagram has some good videos on stretching.

LeopardLover · 04/02/2024 21:21

@Hiddenvoice Sorry, sounds awful! I asked the midwife to refer me to physio at 34 weeks but it's unlikely I'll be seen in time. I did pay to see the osteopath when I had trouble walking a few weeks before that! I have a lot of pelvic pain too. Osteopath did some moves and recommended pregnancy safe child's pose and catcow.

My Badger app has never worked so can't help you there! Feel better!

LeopardLover · 04/02/2024 21:22

@Brawcolli @Elphamouche Nesting mode is in full swing but I have stupid pain in my pelvic area etc so it's hindering me. I am tempted to pay for someone to do a deep clean!

Bluesky85 · 04/02/2024 21:53

@Hiddenvoice I can’t comment on your specific problem but I had awful pain in my right buttock (but kind of deep inside next to my coccyx rather than the muscle) I could hardly put weight on my leg and any bending or twisting set it off. I went for a sports massage and it helped loads. She massaged all round the area and my legs and within a few days it was 80% better. I then had a pregnancy massage with someone else which was a gift and that seems to have helped even more. I think waiting for an NHS physio at this stage is pointless so if you are able I’d recommend going to see a chiro or a sports massage person who is qualified in treating pregnant people to see what they say.

Allaboard209 · 04/02/2024 22:06

Just to note, NHS physio don't actually touch/massage you, they just give you some exercises to do to ease the areas. So it is def worth having the pregnancy massages etc even if you are waiting for NHS physio.

Hiddenvoice · 04/02/2024 22:27

@Aquarius93 @LeopardLover @Allaboard209 thank you all! My dh keeps telling me to contact 111 but I have no idea what they can actually do to help. @Bluesky85 that’s exactly the pain I’m having today. It’s been bad for a few weeks but nothing a bath and the ball couldn’t help with but today I can’t walk without searing pain.
I was looking for massages yesterday but all seem to be full until end of Feb which is a bit of a nightmare!

Thwam · 05/02/2024 06:22

@Hiddenvoice have you tried looking for a private physio? They often manage to see you quickly and will massage too.

@LeopardLover I am also very tempted to get someone in to do a deep clean because it’s going to take me forever to do it myself! My back gets really sore.

Hiddenvoice · 05/02/2024 07:32

@Thwam yeah I’ve been looking all weekend and the earliest I can seem to get is nearly 2 weeks away. The only one I can get for this week costs over £200 and I can’t afford to pay that just now.

Thwam · 05/02/2024 08:34

@Hiddenvoice oh no that is terrible. You poor thing 😢. It’s not acceptable that you need help and treatment and can’t access it while you’re suffering!

Hiddenvoice · 05/02/2024 09:21

@Thwam its definitely making me feel for everyone who can’t get the support they need because of long waiting lists. I’m off to go swimming, I’ve now done that for years so hoping it makes a difference! My midwife was lovely but i’m not sure I can take another 5 weeks!

Thwam · 05/02/2024 10:07

@Hiddenvoice I go to a pregnancy Pilates class that is really helpful. They us personalised exercises for our aches and pains. There are online ones too so maybe worth trying. Swimming sounds like a great idea

Elphamouche · 05/02/2024 10:27

For those of you suffering, have you looked into massage therapy? It’s not as glam as a spa, just the actual massage and it’s deep so it hurts 😂. But I have one every 4-6 weeks anyway because I’ve got quite severe EDS hypermobility. It’s an absolute godsend and £48 for an hour. It makes SUCH a difference. They’re harsher than spa therapists but I can’t be without it.

Aquarius93 · 05/02/2024 11:16

I’m lucky enough that my husband is trained in sports massage so he’ll give me a massage every now and again which helps.

Also recommend having one of those spiky massage balls - I’ve sometimes used mine when my muscles have seized up in the night. Also came in handy for rubbing on my back when I was in labour with my daughter (back to back!)

Allaboard209 · 05/02/2024 12:02

NCT antenatal class teacher was very against washing the baby for first 2 weeks. Says to leave the vernix on to just absorb/rub off by itself. Not sure whether or not I agree with this, as surely it starts to get a bit smelly as bodily fluid maybe? Wondered what your experiences were of hospital advice/bathing if had a baby before? Also what you plan to do re keeping baby clean in the first weeks?

BobbidyBibbidyBob · 05/02/2024 12:19

is anyone still breech? Im 34 weeks so i know there is time but seems all sonographers / midwife sort of panic at this stage and still breech...

KatY9876 · 05/02/2024 13:16

@BobbidyBibbidyBob I'm 36+4 and baby is still breech. They spoke last week about turning her but now I have high blood pressure and swelling, also high risk due to diabetes so they won't turn her now and I am booked for section next Wednesday. There will still be time for your baby to turn. X

My little one is still breech and they are pretty convinced they are stuck however there is still plenty of time for baby to sort themselves out

I have looked up some positions and exercises at home to open up my pelvis and try and move baby but otherwise it will be a c-section at 39 weeks due to GDM (they don’t wish to try ECV)

Thwam · 05/02/2024 15:44

@Allaboard209 my midwife has said not to bath until the cord has fallen off. Can top and tail until then ie wipe them down with a warm, damp cloth, one for the top half and one for the bottom half while wrapped in a warm towel.
