Anyone here in a similar position? I'm feeling a bit of an odd one out on forums now where I don't feel pregnant pregnant and I don't feel infertile infertile, and thought I'd see if others were in the same, tentative situation. I don't feel like I'm ready to join the main May 2024 gang until I'm more confident this will continue.

I'm only 4 weeks 5 days :/

@KG1244 - I'm just over 14 weeks and my sickness has not completely stopped but is heaps better. I do get nauseous after long car journeys and if I've eaten pretty fast.

countrypunk · 20/11/2023 13:40

I think I was quite lucky with morning sickness, even though it was horrible at the time. All over by 13 weeks.

I had a cervical check this morning and got to see the baby and hear the heartbeat again. It was lovely.

ASGIRC · 20/11/2023 13:54

@thislittlebird Hahahah I probably would be unable to stop myself!!

I am 40+, but not a good example, as I used donor eggs, and the donor was 22... so yeah, my risk was basically non existent...
However, in my pregnancy whatsapp most had low risk anyway, even the ones nearing 40 (though most chose to do a NIPT anyway)

I never really had any sickness... some mild nausea, but no vomiting. I t was gone around 15 weeks, though.

Today I got a phone call from the maternity! I was referred to the high risk unit after my last appointment with the GP (we don[t have midwives here, the GPs do our checks). What surprised me the most was that the appointment was on Thursday, and I got a call for a consult at the high risk unit TOMORROW! Less than a week! Very impressive!

Jpos · 21/11/2023 07:26

Well, I've been quiet for a few weeks, but update is I'm now feeling seasick all day everyday for the past few wks. Hoping it ends soon 🤞 12 week scan today bang on time wise and hopefully combined tests to check all is well.
I'm 40 so kinda nervous about this one but we shall see!! Thanks for the top tips on drinking volumes my bladder seems constantly under pressure currently with numerous toilet in the night trips so we'll see how it goes! 😊👍

IVFAlone · 21/11/2023 22:18

Bit of a weird one girls. But is this the start of a bump? Weirdly sticking out below my bellow button?

thislittlebird · 22/11/2023 07:54

Yeah probably @IVFAlone, you’re getting to that stage.

@Jpos I’m 40 too and also worried, but not sure many people on here have mentioned how it went for them at 40. You will probably have your results before me because my scan was so late, it was Saturday at 12w 6d, it’s delayed the process and now I’m just sat around worrying about getting a call and really do not want a call. They said 3-7 days, not sure when I can stop worrying since I had the scan on a Saturday.

@IVFAlone Looks like it :)

KG1244 · 22/11/2023 11:50

@IVFAlone I would say so 😊

PollywithaP · 22/11/2023 12:20

@IVFAlone Bump 🥰

WhatTheFudge0 · 22/11/2023 19:08

Lovely bump pics everyone 💕

I've been feeling sickly all day, everyday (no vomiting thankfully) and super tired. It's really miserable as I can't seem to get much done.

I'm 8w+6 today! I can't believe I've made it this far. I'm also 40+ and nervous about the NIPT test. Unfortunately we lost our first baby at 17 weeks to Edward's syndrome so this makes me even more nervous. I know they say lightening never strikes twice but with my luck I'm really not convinced.

The screening midwives have offered the NIPT to me in a couple of weeks time when I'll be just over 10 weeks so I'm really grateful I can have it sooner.

Hope your NIPT results come back soon @TheBirdintheCave....sending you a virtual hug in meanwhile x

Misty84 · 23/11/2023 06:38

@thislittlebird Im not sure how much difference a year makes but I’m 39 and my results all came back fine (I’m so not used to good news!)

thislittlebird · 24/11/2023 12:10

@Misty84 i hope mine arrive by post soon! If you were told 3-7 days and you had the tests on a saturday, when would you think that would end? I wish they’d have said 7 working days from Monday or something clearer

OP posts:
ASGIRC · 24/11/2023 17:12

@thislittlebird I would assume next Monday or so!
Hopefully youll get them soon!

Had my 20 week scan today! All looking good, shes weighing 430g already!!! Was asleep and not best pleased to be disturbed by the scan! LOL

Also, today I had to use a hairband on my trousers. The particular pair Im wearing today was already on the tight side, with no give, and while I could do them up, it would be too uncomfortable, so hairband it is!
She is definitely growing, but still no bump to cry home about!

Also, I went a bit baby crazy this week, and bought the Next to Me crib, will go look at a second hand Cosatto pram on Monday, ordered a little support cart for the changing station, and spent some money on Black friday clothes deals!!

Were gonna need a new thread every soon!!!

KG1244 · 24/11/2023 21:12

@ASGIRC ah yayy! Very exciting ❤️ Any good deals on clothes worth sharing? I ordered a pregnancy pillow as I thought if I’m buying one, i might as well make the most of it!

yes re thread number 2 - what’s the easiest way to do it? Is there a way to find all the names on this group or do we need to scroll through and add?

Summerishere83 · 24/11/2023 21:21

@ASGIRC lovely news on the scan!! 😍 And totally get the buying spree 😅 you can relax now, that's what my IVF doctor said - after the 20-week scan:))

I've also been looking at prams and cot beds, these will be the most sizeable purchases. Keeping an eye out for second hand ones too 😅

You're an absolute wonder haha, 20 weeks on and barely a bump!! Btw have you put on any weight, kg-wise?

ASGIRC · 24/11/2023 23:07

@Summerishere83 I have put back the weight I lost in the 1st trimestre. I lost 3kg and Ive recovered them.
Mostly because I cannot stop eating Twix bars and chocolate digestives. I really need to STOP!
But yeah, Ive put on 3kg in the past few weeks. Which, considering she already weighs almost half a kg, is not bad at all!!

Today I was wearing a tighter jumper and I just looked a bit fatter. Not noticeably so, but just a bit rounder. My belly doesnt suck in anymore, and I can tell!

@KG1244 Im not in the UK, so the brand I got doesnt exist there! But it was 50% off! Zara and Benetton seem to have really good deals going on, though!

countrypunk · 25/11/2023 07:35

@ASGIRC Did they measure your baby's head and belly circumference at the scan? Mine is on the 90th percentile for both 😨 Making me even more nervous for birth...

TheBirdintheCave · 25/11/2023 08:11

@countrypunk I wouldn't worry too much. My son was on the 50th percentile for my whole pregnancy but was born on the 25th.

@ASGIRC I'm glad your scan went well! :D

thislittlebird · 25/11/2023 08:49

@KG1244 i think we can just @ everyone in the @ list, but lots who joined haven’t been active and I don’t know why that is so hopefully they won’t mind being @ notified

I can’t see what post number we’re up to on my phone?

@ASGIRC 20 weeks and she’s still asleep! I’d really like a letter today! Ngl im a little jealous you’re far enough along to buy stuff. I keep browsing the sales and thinking this stuff isn’t going to be cheaper (other than Boxing Day etc possibly) again before May but I feel like it’s too early for me. I’ll be 14 weeks tomorrow.

@KG1244 John Lewis has a long returns period so I was thinking if we ordered a few bits in the sale from there we could return at the end of Jan if something went awry. I do want to order some maternity clothes in the sale, but it just feels so soon for everything because I’m still not very confident.

Just wondering has anyone measured behind at their 12 week scan?
Most people just keep telling me I didn't ovulated when i expected ect but since its an ivf pregnancy gestation is dated exactly by clinic based on transfer.
I had my scan at 13 weeks and baby was coming up 12w2 days.

Both previous scans baby measurements came up fine, just one day behind.
Midwife isn't providing me much support or reassurance weather this much of a gap is normal
