Anyone here in a similar position? I'm feeling a bit of an odd one out on forums now where I don't feel pregnant pregnant and I don't feel infertile infertile, and thought I'd see if others were in the same, tentative situation. I don't feel like I'm ready to join the main May 2024 gang until I'm more confident this will continue.

I'm only 4 weeks 5 days :/

@Summerishere83 I am, yes! It took me until 17 weeks to hear the heartbeat, I could only hear my placenta.

And with the doppler I've noticed that she moved towards the right, as I'm now picking up her heartbeat more centred than before

Misty84 · 12/11/2023 21:28

@ASGIRC So you don’t always feel a similar amount of movement each day? That’s useful to know! Otherwise I would def worry when there’s less.

@Summerishere83 Good tip about FB marketplace! My house is pretty much kitted out with furniture from there but I hadn’t thought about clothes 😛

ASGIRC · 12/11/2023 21:49

@Misty84 no, it definitely varies! And until 24 weeks there's no "normal", as they are still so small

thislittlebird · 12/11/2023 22:16

Anyone here been stressed when coming off of blood thinners and progesterone injections? I just did the last one and then panicked, can’t help thinking what if I need blood thinners, I was never tested for that and the clinic just the the kitchen sink at me. I might email my ivf doctor just because I’m worrying I should be weaning off the blood thinners. I’m dropping down to just Cyclogest with the progesterone.

@PollywithaP i hadn’t thought of Facebook, will browse there too. Did you wear any Jojo maman bebe stuff? I’ve seen a couple of their coats second hand and I don’t know how big they come up.

The problem for me being short is anything over a 12 will come up long in the arms and body and doesn’t work well, and the only petite maternity stuff I can see is Seraphine which I’m not keen on spending on. Other than the coat I’m assuming the only thing I’ll need is leggings or jeans this side of the new year.

@thislittlebird I was nervous about stopping progesterone (utrogestan) which is why the last week I reduced it to 2 pessaries per day for 3-4 days, then only one until I finished it, fortunately, there seem to be no issues 😬🤞
No experience with the blood thinners but I'd definitely email the IVF clinic x

CazzyM1983 · 13/11/2023 06:27

@thislittlebird i came off my estrogen and progesterone and it really stresses me out but it was ok. I wasn’t on blood thinners for conception but went in aspirin
man’s clexhane after. I think they give them to hell with blood flow and implantation when u have ur transfer? I had it for blood clots due to my age etc. ask ur doctor if u can have aspirin. I’m on it because I’m high risk of preeclampsia x

KG1244 · 13/11/2023 10:28

@Misty84 ah wow! That’s so exciting! Remind me, how many weeks are you?

@countrypunk yes love a bump check! Mine always seems a bit bigger in the evening than the morning. I’m doing alright, been feeling a bit anxious but I’m sure that’s completely normal. Also battling through a nasty head cold that my husband gave me - so annoying! How are you doing?

TheBirdintheCave · 13/11/2023 10:31

@KG1244 I look twice the size in the evening than I do in the morning.

Misty84 · 13/11/2023 11:06

Thanks @KG1244 I’m 18+3. Def not proper kicks yet, just wiggling movements at this stage. 🥰

My bump is also soooo much bigger by the evening @TheBirdintheCave, I feel enormous!

countrypunk · 13/11/2023 11:21

TheBirdintheCave · 13/11/2023 10:31

@KG1244 I look twice the size in the evening than I do in the morning.

Same! My MIL keeps asking me if there's two in there and it's doing my head in 😒

countrypunk · 13/11/2023 11:23

@KG1244 Also still anxious! It's not going to go away so I'm trying to remember it's normal to feel like this and to really enjoy the days/moments I don't feel anxious.

We've got a massive house sorting to do list which we really need to start getting on with 😬😬😬

thislittlebird · 13/11/2023 11:58

@countrypunk we started a bit of that this weekend. We have an (old, sliding door) built in wardrobe in the small room that will be a nursery and it’s full of junk. Starting sorting stuff out this weekend. We need a bigger house really, but we have enough room for now and might need to move some stuff to the in-laws garage in the new year. We will need a new bathroom so need to get on that soon. Also need to redecorate two bedrooms and I probably need to become a vinted seller 😩

@CazzyM1983 i wonder if the blood thinners were why my blood pressure was low? Not sure. I’m thinkhby of just taking low dose aspirin tonight (and for a few days), when I would normally take my blood thinner, so at least it’s not entirely cold Turkey.

@Summerishere83 I have emailed the doc but will phase things out where I can anyway, should be near 13 weeks by the time I stop.

OP posts:
ASGIRC · 13/11/2023 13:11

@thislittlebird I was never on blood thinners, so cant comment on those.
But the progesterone, I honestly could NOT stop them fast enough.
Honestly, they are doing nothing! There is literally no scientific proof progesterone supplements makes any difference past the first few weeks, and even then, their benefits are dubious!

I still dont have a "bump", but my belly is definitely bigger. But I just look fat, as it has expanded from the top of my abdomen. Jeans are now starting to feel a bit tight (but still fit), so the button expander will start being used very soon!
Currently 19+5!

Summerishere83 · 13/11/2023 16:10

@thislittlebird
I just had my booking appointment with the midwife and she gave me aspirin to start taking tonight 2x75mg. It seems that this is a standard practice for pregnant women at 40 to prevent preeclampsia later on, as well as to help blood circulation through the placenta and help fetal growth. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to self-medicate aspirin until you hear from a doctor.

They also very hurriedly booked me in for a consultant phone call tomorrow as I have 6 high risk factors (despite me chasing that booking appointment several times for that reason).

Overall, everything is fine though:) the combined test results came through too and both fetuses are low risk for all 3 conditions 🤞🤞🤞

CazzyM1983 · 13/11/2023 17:00

@Summerishere83 i keep forgetting you’re having twinsys!

@Misty84 sorry just realised you are feeling movement. That’s so nice! it’s reassuring isn’t it. I keep having to have a little check. Poor baby probably getting no sleep cos I’m prodding it lol

Anyone that’s got a bump, what’s the deal with seatbelts. Lap bit goes under bump yeah? I’m super paranoid and driving with one hand between my belly and seatbelt incase I have to slam on and it digs in. It’s making me anxious

Summerishere83 · 13/11/2023 18:02

@CazzyM1983 I am! ☺️ So far so good!!

ASGIRC · 13/11/2023 18:28

@CazzyM1983 seatbelt will not cause injury to the baby, unless you have an actual accident! Slamming the brakes is not gonna hurt the baby at all!

Misty84 · 13/11/2023 21:41

@CazzyM1983 So reassuring!!
Yes lap seatbelt under bump as far as I know xx

thislittlebird · 14/11/2023 20:06

@Misty84 the reassurance must be a relief!

I’ve got the hellish bad pregnancy teeth/gums 🦷🫠. I went to the dentist today, with my maternity exemption certificate in tow, because I started getting pain in a couple of teeth a couple of days ago. Had the checkup and she said it’s just the pregnancy and she wants to see me again in three months. There is another tooth that might need a filling but she can’t do an x ray unless it’s urgent so I’m going back in three months so she can monitor it. This really wasn’t the pregnancy symptom I’d hoped for lol

KG1244 · 15/11/2023 11:13

@thislittlebird argh that’s so annoying! Good that you went to the dentist though. I’m going next month for a check up as my gums seem a bit more puffy since pregnancy.

In another day of oversharing, my boobs are changing colour 😂 anyone else? Our bodies really are amazing!

thislittlebird · 15/11/2023 11:54

@KG1244 what colour are they going?! How many weeks are you now?

I was hoping evolution would have found a way to not impact teeth and gums, since we only get one set. But who needs teeth! 🙃

In other news, I think we have a covid household. I’m a little annoyed it’s back again, this is the third time dh will have had it and I’ve not had it at all. Will be Sod’s Law I get it this time, he’s currently in bed with a fever and I’m cleaning touch points.

OP posts:
KG1244 · 15/11/2023 12:11

@thislittlebird yep. You would think evolution could sort it 😂 so annoying about covid. There are so many bugs about at the moment. So my areola are going a bit pale brown in small patches. I googled it and apparently it’s very normal. Just thought I would share the joy! I’m currently 14 + 4.

Misty84 · 15/11/2023 13:25

Not long til your 12 week scan @thislittlebird! Are you excited?!

ASGIRC · 15/11/2023 14:11

@thislittlebird my gums have been bleeding a lot in pregnancy as well! And sometimes they feel a bit puffy.
Havent been to the dentist yet, because inertia has been a thing! LOL

Hope your tooth doesnt flare up while youre pregnant!

Also annoying about covid! Hopefully you will dodge once again!

I think my boobs are slightly darker now as well. They were really really pale, and now it seems they are a shade darker. But nothing massive. And no linea negra to speak of either!

20 weeks today! It feels like a massive milestone!
Bump is still MIA, but I can definitely feel my jeans getting tighter!
