Anyone here in a similar position? I'm feeling a bit of an odd one out on forums now where I don't feel pregnant pregnant and I don't feel infertile infertile, and thought I'd see if others were in the same, tentative situation. I don't feel like I'm ready to join the main May 2024 gang until I'm more confident this will continue.

I'm only 4 weeks 5 days :/

Hi everyone! Hope you and your little babas are all ok. Had a scan yesterday and got to see my little roo again. I just love staring at those scans.
anyway my little trouble chops was upside down with his/her feet over their head and were kicking a lot and punching lol
it was hard to get a clear pic because they were constantly moving.

The sonographer gave my belly a gentle jiggle to get baby to move their head because they were facing away and I was so suprised at how much I could see my tummy move on the scan from that little prod. So now I’m paranoid about anything near my belly lol and I am defo not running anymore because my little baba must be getting jiggled around terrible when I do lol I feel a bit guilty now. I squash my belly more than when the sonographer did when I out my trousers on or lean on kitchen worktop. I’ll be being extra careful from now on!

thislittlebird · 10/11/2023 17:14

@IVFAlone that's very kind and thoughtful!

@CazzyM1983 thankfully it's cleared off today. I was also getting one per week but not as severe as my usual hormonal migraine pre-period.

Glad the scan went well, I'm sure the baby doesn't mind. Here's me wanting to do more exercise than I am doing lol. Work has been busier and my good habits have disappeared.

@WhatTheFudge0 I havenm't because I've had them since my 20s, mostly like clockwork before a period and sometimes around ovulation. They were mostly predictable and would be 24 hours and done.

Congrats on the scan! I have my 12w scan next Saturday at 12w6d and feel like I'm getting carried away thinking about further down the line.

Which of you are at 16-18 weeks? I'll be there in December and I'm worried about coats. Are you still fitting into your winter coats? I really do not want to pay £70+ for a coat I'll wear for three months and wondering if I really won't fit in mine by then or it'll be ok.

@CazzyM1983 today I saw a video of what happens when you laugh! I definitely would not worry about jiggling the baby, because literally everything you do will shake them! Even walking about! The baby is absolutely fine, perfectly cushioned by the amniotic liquid!

@thislittlebird Im almost 20 weeks, but havent really needed a coat yet and also I am not showing yet (though I am definitely a bit rounder now, but more in a "I ate all the pies", less of "oh look its a baby bump" way!)

I am definitely NOT spending loads of money on a coat I will maybe wear for a little bit. If anything, just buy a bigger size?

thislittlebird · 10/11/2023 22:05

@ASGIRC I’m quite small in the shoulders and short in the arms so bigger sizes tend to swamp me so it won’t work proportions wise. They won’t necessarily be cheaper, either.

I’m just looking at second hand on vinted and eBay, it’s hard to know when I’ll need it. I don’t want to wait until Jan when the coats have gone out of the shops either, just as it gets cold, and lots are already in the sale.

Definitely a bit fatter in the belly already but that’s very likely pies too, thinking Christmas might be a different story and if the coats don’t fit I really will need one for the trip away which will involve walking in the cold.

@thislittlebird My winter coat still fits but is now very snug to zip up! (18 weeks). There’s no way it’s going to last me through the winter months so I’m resigned to buying a bigger one soon.

KG1244 · 10/11/2023 22:49

@thislittlebird i think everyone varies with how quickly their bump develops. I will be 14 weeks tomorrow and I don’t think my winter coat will fit me come January. Vinted or eBay sounds like a good shout!

thislittlebird · 11/11/2023 10:26

@Misty84 I haven’t even got into the main winter coat yet but I know it’ll be too tight, it’s already tight lol

I’ve got my waterproof parka on today and that also doesn’t look like it’ll have much space. My other coat is less casual and doesn’t even do up properly so coat is really my main issue. I have come to the shops this morning and so far no one sells mat clothes for me to gauge how they come up but because I’m short I’m pretty sure a lot of this oversized stuff (that normally looks ridiculous on me) will fit me with a bump, at least for quite a while. It’s the cost and trousers mostly.

@KG1244 yeah that’s the confusing part is when stuff won’t fit 🤪. Vinted will probably be the way forward.

@thislittlebird I bought 3 pairs of different style maternity trousers from Shein, £30 in total including delivery, and I’ve been living in them 😛
In the pricier range my partner suggested a maternity coat from JoJo Maman Bebe for £89.50 which has an additional panel you can zip in at the front when you’re bigger! I haven’t committed to that purchase yet though…

thislittlebird · 11/11/2023 11:03

@Misty84 yeah one of the coats I saw on vinted is JMB. I like it, but I’ll be in Spring for the last two months and really only peak winter coat territory from December until March. I just tried on one of those quilt coats on in M&S and the 12 had plenty of room in the belly actually, even if it looked a bit silly being so long. Still, might find something that’s not a terrible price in a bigger size.

Mine is a beautiful parka from Seraphine. I've worn it every winter since I had my son as it has toggles you can pull in to adjust the waist.

thislittlebird · 11/11/2023 12:15

I don’t think the budget will stretch to Seraphine, sadly. And I’m not having anymore kids so cheap and cheerful it is!

KG1244 · 11/11/2023 21:06

Any of you lovely bunch blessed with big boobs? Mine are literally going mad! There have already got quite a bit bigger, feeling heavy and achey all day. Can anyone else share my pain? Going to have to go bra shopping tomorrow 😐

thislittlebird · 12/11/2023 08:09

@KG1244 is it a recent thing or from early on? Mine have consistently been mildly sore since early on and did get more veiny/slightly bigger but really not very much. I’m assuming this might come later on.

KG1244 · 12/11/2023 08:13

@thislittlebird so a couple of weeks ago they were getting a bit bigger but the past couple of days it’s been a lot and I’ve felt it!

countrypunk · 12/11/2023 09:47

@KG1244 Yes, I have a humongous rack! 30ff pre pregnancy and now 34gg. I bought a ton of bras from M&S the other week and can confirm that their minimiser bra is excellent - it doesn't squish you, just gives a nice shape, is really comfortable and costs 16 quid. They do a soft wireless bra in proper bra sizes which is great too - I can barely tell I'm wearing it.

I can only imagine how big they're going to get when the baby is actually here and my milk comes in 😫

KG1244 · 12/11/2023 10:02

@countrypunk right?! I’m only 14 weeks! How far along are you? Sorry I lose track. Would you also mind sharing links to those bras? I bought some from M&S two weeks ago and they are already uncomfortable!

countrypunk · 12/11/2023 10:05

@KG1244 I'm 21 weeks so they're probably gonna get a fair bit bigger yet...

Mine don't feel heavy and sore anymore so hopefully yours will feel better soon.

KG1244 · 12/11/2023 10:11

@countrypunk thank you so much! How is your bump looking at 21 weeks? Are you at pregnancy pillow in bed stage? X

countrypunk · 12/11/2023 10:27

@KG1244 It's pretty big! I've been having hip pain in bed since about 18 weeks. A pillow between the legs helps but my back has started complaining the past few nights so I think I need to get a proper pregnancy pillow.

First thing I do every morning is look at my bump in the mirror! I've been trying to take regular pics and it's so nice to see the progression.

How are you, aside from boob growth!?

CazzyM1983 · 12/11/2023 11:25

My hips are hurting when I’m in bed and waking me up.
my boobies are killing me. Wah.
I need to go bra shopping

Misty84 · 12/11/2023 14:24

Started feeling wiggling movements daily now, which is amazing and so reassuring!!

TheBirdintheCave · 12/11/2023 16:07

@Misty84 Aww that's great! :D

ASGIRC · 12/11/2023 19:26

@KG1244 I do have MASSIVE boobs (34G), but they havent really grown so far
However, they did get pretty heavy and achey until about 17 weeks. Then it eased a bit! I now dont have to hold them up to shower!

Im also still wearing my normal bras, which is great! I really dont want to spend money on things I wont wear for long! (And I always wear matching sets, so it would be even harder!)

We shall see how it progresses!

@Misty84 how lovely!!!!

I find myself now feeling a bit sad when I dont feel her kick regularly. Yesterday I think she moved behind my placenta (anterior, but to the right) and I barely felt her. As Im typing this she just gave me 2 strong kicks, but shes a lot more centred than before!

Summerishere83 · 12/11/2023 20:46

@Misty84 so exciting, lovely:))
@ASGIRC are you still using Doppler too? It's tricky with anterior placentas I hear, both mine are anterior but that's why we got the Doppler for reassurance and today (13+4) I managed to get both heartbeats ☺️ it cost us £12 so money well spent!

PollywithaP · 12/11/2023 21:00

Oh goodness the boob pain! I’ve had to look out my bf/maternity bras to wear in bed as my boobs are out of control!
Re coats there are loads on fb marketplace where I am, but in my first pregnancy I got a £20 warm waterproof Aldi ski coat in size 16 which fitted me until full term, (Baby was born in Jan) and then went round us both with baby in the sling until about 3 months. Luckily I still have it!
I love feeling those wiggles too, although my pacenta is to the right at the front so only feeling the wiggles on the left now and then. Glad to hear everyone is doing well!
