Anyone here in a similar position? I'm feeling a bit of an odd one out on forums now where I don't feel pregnant pregnant and I don't feel infertile infertile, and thought I'd see if others were in the same, tentative situation. I don't feel like I'm ready to join the main May 2024 gang until I'm more confident this will continue.

I'm only 4 weeks 5 days :/

I know!!! Its so exciting!!

countrypunk · 15/11/2023 16:37

@ASGIRC I reckon you're suddenly gonna pop out some day soon!

ASGIRC · 15/11/2023 16:44

@countrypunk I honestly hope not 😂😂
Now that I got to 20 weeks with no bump, I really want to not have a bump 😂😂
I mean, it will happen, as I'm already noticing some differences, but a nice and small bump is fine 😂😂
My flab is already getting hard, as my baby grows!

This picture is me, today. 100% incognito.

@ASGIRC How have you managed this!? I am HUGE. I look full term compared to you but I'm less than 2 weeks ahead! You must have amazing stomach muscles. Also I'm quite apprehensive about just how enormous I'm gonna get...

KG1244 · 15/11/2023 16:59

@countrypunk I completely feel this too. Really freaks me out - which I feel a bit guilty to say as I’ve wanted a baby for so long ❤️

@ASGIRC I don’t think I’ve looked like that since before I started IVF treatment in Feb 😂

countrypunk · 15/11/2023 17:04

@KG1244 Ah it's OK. It's so much change. At the beginning of the pregnancy I was panicking about my boobs because they were already pretty sizeable, but I've come to terms with it now!

Just because we've all been through the mill to get our babies doesn't mean we have to be delighted with every change that comes along with them. Xx

ASGIRC · 15/11/2023 17:04

@countrypunk honestly, no idea! I wouldn't even say my muscles are that great, as I haven't done any sort of intentional exercise in about a decade!
I am a bit overweight, which is disguising the bump, though what was once completely squishy, is now getting hard, as the baby grows!

Thishas been really handy, as I haven't told work yet and I work in TV, so no remote working is available to me! 😂

countrypunk · 15/11/2023 17:09

@ASGIRC You don't look overweight at all, very trim. But I'm glad no bump has been working for you 😄 if I wear a really baggy jumper I can just about get away with looking a bit podgy round the belly. Almost.

@KG1244 echoing what @countrypunk said, wanting this baby doesn't mean you have to love pregnancy and all it entails!
Don't feel guilty! It is fine to not love all the changes your body is going through. It is no reflection on how much you want your baby!

I lost 3kg in the first trimester. Have since gone up 2kg, so still 1kg under my ore pregnancy weight. I expect weight will start creeping up soon, though!

ASGIRC · 15/11/2023 17:12

@countrypunk I'm only 1.55m (or 5'2" ish), and 67kg, so BMI wise, I am about a stone overweight! Not massive, but definitely there.

This outfit is very forgiving!

countrypunk · 15/11/2023 17:32

@ASGIRC You're wee!

KG1244 · 15/11/2023 17:45

@countrypunk @ASGIRC thanks both, you’re completely right. I’m off for a quick nap now. Tiredness has crept back again!

Summerishere83 · 15/11/2023 17:49

@ASGIRC omg, 20 weeks and looking like this!! I'm pretty scared what I might turn into by week 20, let alone by due date 😅 only 3kg more so far but they're all in the bump, still a bit dubious whether it's just a big belly or a baby bump up to people so no one dares comment on it 😂

When is your 20-week scan?

thislittlebird · 15/11/2023 18:10

@KG1244 Patchy pale brown doesn’t sound too bad. And it’s definitely worth getting checked out. My dentist’s hygienist is not nhs though, I don’t know if I’ll be able to find one of those.

@Misty84 no, not really :/ I’m just worried about the results from the tests they’ll do. It’s just something I want to get out of the way at this stage.

@ASGIRC have your gums been hurting? Mine started as soon as I hit 12w.

CazzyM1983 · 15/11/2023 18:13

@ASGIRC congrats on getting to 20 weeks! You are so trim in your pic. I’m massive on my belly. And I’ve been exercising and only just giving up running and the gym.

and all of you worrying about putting weight on, I think I’ve put on 5 or 6 kgs so don’t feel bad lol

ASGIRC · 15/11/2023 18:15

@countrypunk indeed! But a bit more rotund than I'd like 😂😂

@Summerishere83 well,I do have the big advantage of only having one baby inside me!!! If I had 2,I'm sure I would be a lot bigger!!!

My scan is next Friday! I cannot wait!!!

@thislittlebird no pain, no. Just bleeding when brushing and sometimes they get a bit swollen in spots.
I have to admit I've been lax with flossing...

thislittlebird · 15/11/2023 18:16

@countrypunk how big is your bump? Are your the same number of weeks as @ASGIRC?

@KG1244 I feel bad about eating as much as I am because I had only just got a handle on my weight gain and now I’ve lost all my good habits. I want to at least log what I eat and do some exercise but I’ve done nothing the last few weeks. Not even been out much walking between the rain and work. I’m also dreading stretch marks, I’ve never had them before and would rather not get them but seems unlikely.

@ASGIRC i was also going to say good stomach muscles!

@ASGIRC honestly between all the ivf shit I won’t pretend I maintained all my best habits and my interdental brushing was sporadic. Anyway, it’s every day now because she told me it’s super important with the pregnancy gums so I stocked up on the sticks.

I need to be better, but end up being lazy.
Should probably buy some mouthwash as well, which I've never used, but feel I might use more than the floss!

My gums have a tendency to bleed anyway. Even after a clean, they'll go back to bleeding within days.
But it's much worse since I've been pregnant!

thislittlebird · 15/11/2023 19:16

@ASGIRC lazy is my primary setting 😭
Mine never really bleed, but they are at the moment, still not a huge amount though. The pain is the annoying thing.

I think I’ll try to set my alarm a bit earlier tomorrow and try to do some exercise. I really should be moving more then I am but working from home + rain isn’t encouraging me to get out.

@thislittlebird I'm 22 weeks on Friday, I'll get my partner to take a pic when he gets in so you can see 🙂

countrypunk · 15/11/2023 21:26

Bump! It actually doesn't look quite as big in this pic.

ASGIRC · 15/11/2023 23:49

@countrypunk Thats such a lovely bump!!!!!!

But I do get what you mean... it is pretty big! But maybe it will stabilise somewhat now!

thislittlebird · 16/11/2023 08:59

@countrypunk that is a good bump! Which week did you need maternity clothes from?
