@WitcheryDivine yes my apps say this is the rib moving point! I had a stab of stomach (actual stomach not belly, high up under left rib) over the weekend and when I googled there was a lot about ribs moving

I only wear non wired bras and crops, and I've had the extended clip on my bra for months already 😂 also I'm mainly wearing my soft crop top type bras in larger sizes cos they're just much more comfortable!

I've also got a little bit of a rash on my boobs which I think is maybe heat rash and hoping it's not the start of anything else 🤞

Luhou · 16/10/2023 11:52

Ugh cba with today. Boss seems to be more of a knob the closer we get to me going on leave. Probably because they've organised no cover for my role!

Slept better last night. Pelvic pain not to bad this morning although likely be in agony by 3pm.

Just not in the mood for today!

WitcheryDivine · 16/10/2023 11:58

Ah interesting thanks. Yes mine are soft/not underwired too!

@suz2285 sorry you're feeling isolated. I moved to a new city not long ago and know almost no-one here! It's crap. Have lots of friends with babies but they're spread across the country unfortunately. If your antenatal classes are online maybe ask your midwife if there are any real life meetup groups too? Also I'm worried about your partner not being supportive enough, it's stuck out to me for months that he doesn't sound like he has a lot of empathy or appreciation for what you're going through and that must be really hard. Can you (or his mum) read him the riot act? My feeling is things are only going to be more difficult for the next couple of months and you need someone who is proactively supporting you, doing things for you (I mean basic stuff like bring you a cup of tea, carry heavy stuff), and being kind and sympathetic when you just want a good cry!

Obviously you have us but our ability to bring tea is doubtful. FlowersBrew

WitcheryDivine · 16/10/2023 12:08

Now it's cold, what is everyone wearing on their legs? My preg jeans are more like leggings in terms of warmth! (i.e. not very)

Mushroo · 16/10/2023 12:11

@WitcheryDivine ive been wearing the Lovall leggings which are pretty thick - but they also do fleece lined winter ones that I might treat myself to!

TunnocksTCake · 16/10/2023 12:12

Sorry everyone is struggling so much but so glad its not just me! Ive been feeling like a right debbie downer, finding it hard to just accept that this is very physically exhausting and I should just go with it not try to do everything I normally would. DH and I have a last night away together before baby comes this weekend which Im really looking forward to, been bad at connecting recently so looking forward to having a proper chat.

@Luhou my boss is absolutely on one today too! Luckily remotely so I do have downtime between stressy phone calls. Think its starting to dawn on her that I only have 8 weeks left anf keeps piling things on my to do list to be done before I go.

@suz2285 I also have a rash between/ under my boobs. Keep meaning to go to the chemist for something but have actually been putting sudocreme on it at night which helps - think its because Im no longer wearing bras that keep my boob apart because I also cant deal with underwires/ bands anymore so its just heat/ sweat (Delightful!)

DD1 was sick all over herself and the carseat this morning, luckily I was handing over to my mum so she could take all the sick covered clothes and carseat cover but it got down all the gaps in the base so my car is going to STINK when I leave work later! She perked right up afetrwards and had 3 hot cross buns apparently 😂

I had both covid and flu vaccines at the weekend and wishing I had asked for them to be done separately as it really knocked me, felt awful all afternoon saturday and yesterday, still a bit foggy headed today. Also getting a bit constipated (soz TMI) due to lack of movement over the weekend so thats a joy too.

Salamander91 · 16/10/2023 12:18

@am3017 good luck with the 4d scan. We took the kids to one on Saturday and it was lovely seeing their reaction. We got some great pics too.

@Mushroo what is the sizing like? I really need some decent maternity leggings but I dread paying so much for something I'll only wear a couple of months 😅

@TunnocksTCake pleased it's not just me. I feel like with my hormones raging at the moment it's inevitable he'll either make me cry or I'll tell him to do one by the end of the day 🤣

It’s been fine for me. I went for a 12 and it’s been good, very stretchy.

I would caveat I’ve not gained much weight so if you’re bigger I might be minded to size up :)

oh thanks! will check those out.

suz2285 · 16/10/2023 12:36

@WitcheryDivine thanks, there's plenty baby groups here for after baby is here, i've already made enquires with a few, just doesn't seem to be much for before! I'm not exactly in a new city, I've been here for years, but my friends all had their babies years ago! i just need friends in the same situation you know?

My family are all 3 + hours away though my sister and mum are visiting in the next couple of weeks and when baby is here they will be here more likely!

Husband is generally ok... he doesn't do great with empathy that's the only thing, he does bring tea/carry things, help out etc. He's just not the kind of person who gets anxiety or emotional so he doesn't understand that part of "me" . I thought I'd only mentioned it a couple of times, so I def don't want it to come across that he does nothing which is not the case at all 😂

Funny you mention his mum though - DH is actually the emotional one, his mum has like zero emotion at all! 😂said she had a great time at our wedding despite not having a smile the whole day! And her reaction to baby news was "aw that's nice"...... they're just different from my family who are loud and bubbly!

also i've got my lovall (love leggings) on today, i got them on vinted and they are slightly thick lined. Super comfy. I got my regular size and they fit nicely and i've put on a fair bit of weight!

am3017 · 16/10/2023 12:36

@Salamander91 those are great pics!! So cute. I’m excited for him to see!

I live in Adanola leggings they are so comfy, I’m still fitting in my Smalls that I already had (just😬) at 27 weeks but I am going to order a pair or 2 in a medium and will still be able to wear them post baby!

buckingmad · 16/10/2023 12:56

@Mummyme87 god knows what we’re thinking. We have two properties we rent out which would both need to sell to fund this one. Plus it’s an absolute state. A proper 3 floor project. Needs gutting but would potentially be an amazing family home and grow with us.

lucya66 · 16/10/2023 13:20

@Salamander91 aww they are adorable!!

I also got my 4d scan pics at the weekend for a sneak peak. Can’t stop looking at her!

Due January 2024, Part 7!
PartRadish · 16/10/2023 13:54

Ah I'd decided against a 4d scan because of money mainly but also the suggested best time to have it falls over half term and ours only just about managed to sit through 10 minute gender scan 🤦🏼‍♀️ These pictures are making me reconsider though... 😍

Mummyme87 · 16/10/2023 14:58

@buckingmad sounds like a lot! But if it would work for you then sounds amazing.

I have my 28week scan next week and will need to take kids as it’s half term, DH at work, and no family here

Onedayatatime24 · 16/10/2023 15:17

Aw those 4D scans are so good! Amazing little faces, how cute. 🥹

Had my GTT today, wasn't bad at all, was expecting to be retching at the drink but it was just a bit thick and sweet. They've said I should hear by Wednesday if I have GD but if I don't hear then I'm fine.

I am in a foul mood at work today. They have taken on a perm position to cover me next year and the new person has less experience, less responsibilities and is getting paid more than me. Had a grumble and was told they are 'reviewing all salaries anyway'. Not really the point and a real kick in the teeth after all the effort I've put in over the last 6 months while literally growing a human. Feel like just half-arsing it now until I leave!

My DH is definitely the more emotional one of us two. He's been feeling really anxious the last couple of weeks and I'm like why?! I'm the one growing him! 😂 I think it hits men later on in the pregnancy that we're actually going to have a real baby? Think DH is worried in case anything goes wrong with birth more than anything. Anyone else had this with their partner? Not sure how to comfort him as I'm also shit scared of giving birth. 😂

TunnocksTCake · 16/10/2023 16:25

@Onedayatatime24 Your work situation sounds really rubbish, I'm sorry. They definitely shouldnt be paid more than you.
I think with the dads it all becomes a bit more real when they see a huge bump, a nursery coming along/ a pram being bought etc. until then its a bit theoretical in a way!! With our first I got DH to do all the hypnobirthing/ antenatal courses with me - knowledge is power - and gave him actionable tasks for the labour, keeping my water topped up, advocating for my birth choices, getting the playlist / snacks etc ready.
However some do just freak out when its go time and thats understandable too, so be prepared that might happen! To be fair it must be terrifying watching someone you love go through so much pain and be completely powerless to stop it. I was completely in the zone and wouldnt have noticed if he was there or not last time so if he does flake you probably won't care til the baby actually pops out!!

Onedayatatime24 · 16/10/2023 16:43

@TunnocksTCake We did start clearing out what will be baby's room this weekend so maybe that's what triggered it actually! Also been feeling baby move from the outside a lot more the last couple of weeks so guess it is all becoming a bit more real. I will definitely get him to do the hypnobirthing course with me and I've already tasked him with the playlist. 😂 tbh I think he will be great during the actual birth, it's always before that he gets anxious but is usually great in a crisis or if I'm freaking out about something so fingers crossed! We also signed our wills this weekend so thinking about it, not the most relaxing weekend... 🤦‍♀️

I know I should try to not be annoyed with the work thing but fairness is a real bugbear of mine. And tbh pay does make a difference, especially now! Anything else and I wouldn't be bothered, but it's legal so not a lot I can do bar complain.

FirstT1meMum · 16/10/2023 17:14

Thank you everyone! Reassuring to know both sides are okay - not sure where I had left from then 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

@Onedayatatime24 my consultant appointment is due to BMI also and I'm having a growth scan the same day at 28 weeks. I don't think I have any others booked in yet! I think the discussion varies massively person to person and any additional risk factors. Some women I know who are consultant led due to BMI have literally the first appointment then get referred back to midwife led.

Mummyme87 · 16/10/2023 18:24

@FirstT1meMum left side is a thing, you get better oxygenated blood returning to baby however either side is absolutely fine.

BMI consultant reviews depend on how high the BMI is, if under 40 but over 35 usually a one off appt to recommend active 3rd stage, and discuss some risks. That’s about it. They are very often a waste of time really, tick box exercise. My next consultant appt is 36wks to finalise plans for birth, ie. My plan for IOL at 39wks

FirstT1meMum · 16/10/2023 18:34

@Mummyme87 thank you so much!
The information about the consultant is really useful too as that is exactly where I fall and was getting a bit worried but not really anything to worry about then!

Onedayatatime24 · 16/10/2023 19:56

@FirstT1meMum @Mummyme87 ooh I'm in that bracket too so hope it's just a one off. Consultant has already booked me an appointment with her for 32 weeks so maybe different where I am? Hopefully not and I get referred back to mw led. If I don't have GD 🤞 then so far there aren't any other risk factors for me so all being well it's just box ticking!

Mummyme87 · 16/10/2023 20:52

@Onedayatatime24 everywhere does things a bit different but no real reason to see them again unless another issue crops up. BMI over 35 puts you outside of guidelines for MLU if you’re interested in that, so would need to request to speak to the midwife that does birth options clinics - often consultant midwife/birth centre manager. May be a good idea to look up NICE guidelines on BMI and I think Sara wickham talks about it also. You get a lot of shit thrown at you when overweight, risk factors for everything, but most women who are otherwise healthy go on to have normal pregnancies and normal births. There’s no indication for continuous monitoring or early induction of labour, some trusts push this but it’s not actually recommended
