Her guest today suggesting 300 squats a day @sashastuck !? I nearly spat out my drink 😂 Does make a lot of sense what they were saying though!

Hummusanddipdip · 13/10/2023 16:02

300?!?!?!?! I can't even do one without tumbling backwards and thats when I'm not pregnant 🤣 dh used to tell me that my centre of gravity was somewhere over the other side of the room when we trained together. I had to do them with a 5kg weight in my hands just to sustain balance 🤣

Would Sumo squats give the same benefit?

Kalodin · 13/10/2023 16:08

She was like "just break it up into small chunks throughout the day".... 300 though!? @Hummusanddipdip Sumo squats surely count as squats when we have a bumps!?

Lightningrain · 13/10/2023 17:01

@Kalodin we’ve decided not to find out whether it’s a girl or boy so we’re going quite neutral with white and sage green. We’ll probably add some more gender specific accessories when he/she arrives. I like to be organised so I’ll feel much better once I have a place to put all of the baby things.

Sorry to hear about the issue at work. Hopefully you manage to get it resolved.

I keep having good intentions of doing some exercise but the most I’ve done is the odd prenatal yoga class and walking. I was so tired up until the last few weeks exercise was the last thing I wanted to do. The thought of squats with the extra weight I’m carrying as well as being so breathless makes me not want to attempt it!

I’m feeling baby move a lot more today. Previously I’ve only noticed it when I’ve been sat or laid still but I’ve noticed little movements a few times already today. I really should make a note of it so that I can see if there’s a pattern. Has anyone else started doing this?

Mummyme87 · 13/10/2023 17:22

@Lightningrain I was just thinking today I have no idea of pattern for baby movements really. Maybe moves alot in the morning, but seems fairly on and off all day

Flossiepot · 13/10/2023 17:28

300 squats a day? I can just about manage about 20 every few days. 🙈
Same here with the moments - seem to get them most of the day but no idea on a pattern.

Kalodin · 13/10/2023 17:28

We won't be finding out either and have gone with a green scheme for the baby's room too @Lightningrain , although not sure it will be decorated before baby's arrival at this point 😂

RG9895 · 13/10/2023 17:33

Im almost 28 weeks and same here with a pattern, I don't think she really has one if I'm honest she tends to have a wriggle all throughout the day with maybe hours break here and there and then a lot when I lay in bed from about 10:30pm but I do wonder if that's because I am laying down and can just feel it more as I'm not doing anything. I wonder what they mean by pattern though as are they really going to kick at bang on 11am every day?! 🤣 I tend to do the kick count of the evening and as long as I've felt her a few times throughout the day I am happy as thats what seems normal ☺️ trying not to let myself over think it as I definitely have been but if I ever have any doubts I won't hesitate to go to MAU!

Hi everyone!
I’m new here just found this thread, due January 14th (26+5 atm) with baby no.3…
Sorry for the TMI on my first post but has anyone else experienced thrush during their pregnancy that won’t go away?
I never had this problem with either of my first 2 but at my 23week app midwife sent a swab away as I’ve been really sore/ watery discharge (again sorry TMI) and urine was positive for leukocytes, results came back positive for Candida Albicans and I was prescribed pessarys for thrush but the symptoms just don’t seem to be going away and it’s causing me to be so uncomfortable!

Luhou · 13/10/2023 18:05

300 squats?! I can barely get my own shoes on.

Mummyme87 · 13/10/2023 18:06

@RG9895 pattern is just like… when I wake baby is moving, whenever I eat my baby moves. My baby doesn’t move much throughout the day but very active in the evenings. It’s very general, not specific.

@am3017 are you having random pessaries or a course of them? Chronic thrush can be treated with a course of pessaries

am3017 · 13/10/2023 18:14

@Mummyme87 7 day course of pessaries but doesn’t seem to have made a difference, I’m hoping it isn’t going to be continuous until baby is here

Mummyme87 · 13/10/2023 18:36

@am3017 I’m sorry that’s really rubbish. What about taking some probiotics?

am3017 · 13/10/2023 18:44

@Mummyme87 I hadn’t thought about taking probiotics will definitely do that hopefully might help! Thank you

FirstT1meMum · 13/10/2023 19:20

I also don't seem to have much of a pattern that I've noticed...some days she has a kick in the morning some not (not sure of it's how much time I have to lie in bed and feel her), usually get something after lunch but not always noticeable, a lot of the day if she's not really obvious or I'm busy then I don't notice. Most of my movements come when I'm relaxing at night but there's no set times and the strength varies!!

Had my results from my glucose test and no further action so that's a big sigh of relief! Got a very busy weekend so expecting to be aching by the end of it!

Lightningrain · 13/10/2023 19:34

@FirstT1meMum that sounds exactly the same as what I’ve been feeling in terms of movements. It’s only today where I’ve felt them at other times during the day. I’m assuming baby is getting big enough that’s they’re more obvious but I suppose I’ll find out over the next few days whether it continues.

Dannic2018 · 13/10/2023 19:45

When I kneel down I need to hold onto something to get up now! I have definitely got a waddle on and my pelvis is struggling already, something I didn’t have with my other 3. I think being 40 next year and generally knackered with 3 kids and renovating the house doesn’t help 🤣.
@am3017 I’ve had thrush most of the time too. I had progesterone pessaries until 16 weeks so thought it was that but nope having pessaries every few weeks now. For me it seems it’s carrying a girl thing as I never had it with my 2 boys but had it with my daughter.

Got my pushchair delivered on Tuesday and still darent open it as our house is a bomb site and I don’t want to get it ruined ha ha. I just want to organise and sort what I have and don’t have, I like to be organised so this chaos is not good

Onedayatatime24 · 13/10/2023 19:54

No particular pattern here either, I notice movements after I eat and the strongest always when I'm lying in bed at night but no set times really.

Got my glucose test on Monday, bricking it! Really not sure I can mentally handle another thing to think about if I have GD. 😮‍💨

am3017 · 13/10/2023 20:31

@Dannic2018 it is so frustrating isn’t it as if we aren’t uncomfortable enough during pregnancy😂 this one is a boy for me but with my last I had to get my placenta manually removed and let’s just say I’ve never been the same since so not sure if it’s just something I’ll have to live with🤣

I notice movement mostly when I’m in a bath or lying in bed at night, occasionally in the morning when I’m having breakfast also but mostly quiet during the day.

Dannic2018 · 13/10/2023 21:48

@am3017 it’s bloody awful we don’t need it do we, I mean I wee myself if I sneeze or cough too much, think my bladder leaks a bit as well so it’s just a nice area down there anymore 🤣
The placenta has snapped with my last two and they’ve had to go back in manually so maybe it’s that or god knows, it’s just not the same down there now.

My movements are pretty regular on a morning, when I have breakfast for a good while, then around a 10-11 then on and off throughout the day. She’s not as much a party animal on a night like my son was and I have a bit during the night but I’m guessing it’ll get worse the bigger she is and less room.

Can I ask has anyone had really uncomfortable around the bottom of their boobs? Like my bra was too tight, I’ve took it off and it’s still hurting and tight around there. She is really high up so maybe it’s everything moving but god it’s sore tonight , I’ve had to take my bra off and have a loose top on

am3017 · 13/10/2023 21:58

@Dannic2018 that is strange then actually if you have had a similar experience, it maybe could be don’t think I can take another 13 weeks of it🤦🏻‍♀️

Funny you should mention that about a bra, I have been feeling really claustrophobic lately with a bra on, it’s hard to explain but that’s probably the best word I can use I get so uncomfortable and sore and need it off! I have had to start wearing a soft bra top instead similar to the kind you get for kids as a first sort of bra 😂 my bumps quite low though, I’m tall with a long torso so always carry low so unsure what’s causing it.

Gremlin84 · 14/10/2023 11:43

28 week blood results in - can see them on the NHS app. Suspect will have to go on iron supplements as red blood count below normal range. Would explain why I’ve been feeling tired and breathless, although I assumed it was simply from carrying an extra 7kg around! Can’t decide whether to get some supplements now or wait for the doctor follow up next week and see what they say.

Mummyme87 · 14/10/2023 14:55

@Gremlin84 yea I was pleased to see I can see my results on the nhs app. Depends what your levels are as to requiring supplements and whether prescription amount is necessary or not? What was the number?

Gremlin84 · 14/10/2023 19:38

@Mummyme87 rbc was 3.58, haematocrit 0.336, haemoglobin decreased but still in range at 115. So not massively below normal I think. Might be that normal 14mg supplement does the trick.

still suspect most of tiredness is the extra weight and reduction of lung capacity 😂

Mummyme87 · 14/10/2023 20:24

@Gremlin84 HB 115 is normal at 28weeks (outside of pregnancy would be classed as low). The other two numbers aren’t relevant. Cut off for HB at 28weeks is 105. Eat plenty of leafy greens and red meat will keep your HB above board, 14mg iron is minuscule but won’t cause any harm. Dosing for iron to be most effective is 200mg alternate days but that’s if it’s low. I had HB 110 aT 20weeks and started 12mg as always suffer from low iron, had an iron infusion in first pregnancy and bloody transfusions post birth both times. Hoping it’s okay when checked next week.

it’s likely your tiredness is just being pregnant, it’s bloody exhausted isn’t it!!
