@MrsJ6921 you wont know that unless you have had a scan

Kalodin · 12/10/2023 13:47

Just had a cervical length check up (post cerclarge), Dr wants to see me again in 3 weeks as cervix has dropped in length again, he said he thinks i will make it past 30 weeks however if this rate of change continues then I'll be likely to have another premature baby.

Good news was that he is also supportive of a vaginal birth, so that's the 2 main consultants and my Midwife I have on board for a VBA2C.

Very swollen hear too, certainly cannot wear my rings @suz2285 And DH gives me a massage in my feet and legs every night now to help

Ah brilliant news @lucya66

MrsJ6921 · 12/10/2023 14:09

@Redpanda21 I had my bump measured 😊

Salamander91 · 12/10/2023 14:13

Glad it went well @lucya66

I had a growth scan today too. Baby boy is 50th centile and about 3lbs 😍breech atm which is why I'm feeling a lot of pressure on my bladder apparently

suz2285 · 12/10/2023 14:27

@Kalodin fingers crossed to making it past 30 weeks! Glad they're keeping an eye on it.

I changed to bigger rings a few weeks ago cos my normal rings are quite tight on a good day! But yeah, legs when i'm in the office are very noticeable (to me anyway) they just feel heavy!

@Salamander91 wow 3lbs! these babies are getting big, i was about 2lbs at my last scan but they seem to be really putting on the weight now! Im a bit scared how much more growth i've got to do! Feeling heavy now!

@lucya66 great news!

Salamander91 · 12/10/2023 15:01

@suz2285 he's nearly doubled in weight in 4 weeks 😳 they're definitely packing the weight on now lol my last baby was 10lb 7oz so I'm just hoping this one stays on the 50th centile 😂

PartRadish · 12/10/2023 15:45

Crazy how much they all differ in size/weight already!

I had my first growth scan last week and baby was 724g so about 1lb 9oz at 25 weeks exactly. My six year old was 755g born at 25+1 so a really similar weight!

I was disproportionately excited to see something a new 'GROW' tab on Badger after the scan 😆 Nice to be able to quickly see and follow how she's growing.

@Kalodin Fingers crossed baby stays put until well passed 30 weeks. Have you joined the Incompetent Cervix UK group on FB? They have a Pregnancy subgroup too and there's lots of women on there who have funnelled right to the stitch and are nearing or have made it to term. At my last check 10 days ago I had 7mm left then the stitch. Consultant was really pleased with that, he thought it would be less!

Kalodin · 12/10/2023 15:54

Ooo I'm not on a UK one @PartRadish , I'm on one that seems predominantly US based atm. That one also does have a lot of positive stories, just a bit shocked at how much is lessened again, its the rate of change that's concerning the DR more than the length.

buckingmad · 12/10/2023 15:55

@PartRadish ooh I was wondering how the growth charts work with the app as I had the old fashioned big folder with DD. DD followed her growth chart pretty perfectly.

Be interesting to see what this one is like. I feel bigger already and have already put on a stone 😭. My mums second baby was her biggest at 10lbs after having me at 7 which is same as DD. I’m only 5ft 2. I can’t have a 10lb baby 😂

Got my 28 week appointment next Wednesday and my anti d jab on Friday. Haven’t seen my midwife since 16 weeks!

Vikki7 · 12/10/2023 20:15

Is anyone else really uncomfortable with a heaviness and bruising feeling all around the pelvic area? I know it must be the weight or position of baby pressing down but is there anything I can do to lessen it that doesn't involve standing on my head. I was told he's head down at my growth scan, would that make it worse? I feel like he's gonna drop out every time I use the bathroom.

DearSam48 · 12/10/2023 20:30

@Vikki7 I am and it's very uncomfortable! I've been told by my midwife that pelvic floor exercises should help. You can find some online on YouTube from various NHS trusts. I'd recommend speaking to your Midwife and see if you have a physio referral option. I've been sent a ton of exercises to try but haven't started them yet. I feel your pain though, it's not fun

Mummyme87 · 12/10/2023 21:47

Sounds like SPD @Vikki7 I constantly feel sore and bruised, it’s really hard work.

must actively start getting house ready for this baby now back from Rhodes. So much to do

Mummyme87 · 13/10/2023 09:33

Was just thinking this morning @Vikki7 if it’s heaviness and bruising feeling internally then could be a prolapse. Pelvic floor exercises ++++

TunnocksTCake · 13/10/2023 09:33

@Vikki7 I have this it's awful, get it when I stand up mostly and had assumed it was due to my dodgy pelvic floor from my first. Waiting for physio appt at the beginning of November.
I find it a bit better when I use my support belt for walking / standing for long periods

Vikki7 · 13/10/2023 09:41

Thanks for your replies :-) it's reassuring to hear it's not just me.

@Mummyme87 is a possible prolapse an emergency situation or am I ok holding on until next midwife appointment?

I've got a midwife appointment next Thursday so it's not too far away.

If anyone's got any good YouTube videos with examples of exercises that might help, I'd be very grateful for a link.

I can't believe I'm waddling on the school run at just 28 weeks, it's still a while to go and until babies born, I can only see it getting more difficult.

Sorry to hear others are suffering too.

I've just watched an OBEM video of a Mama holding her chunky little newborn daughter for the first time and saying to camera that her family feels complete. I'm in happy tears thinking that will be us soon!

It's all swings and roundabouts with pregnancy hormones!

Mummyme87 · 13/10/2023 09:55

@Vikki7 there’s nothing that can be done in pregnancy for a prolapse, they aren’t uncommon. It tends to be vaginal wall prolapses as opposed to bladder/uterine. We just recommend pelvic floor exercises, and can refer to women’s health physio for support.

also waddling all the time, have been for a while but the week away has made it worse so school run was a very slow waddle. My eldest asked me why I didn’t go and live in Antarctica with the other penguins 🥴

Aw that's mean!!! My waddle only comes on after walking for a while, but my stair ascents are truly embarrassing. Lots of stairs at work and I frequently have to take two breaks on the way between floors Blush
I don't know what it is, the extra weight? Or just breathlessness.

Mummyme87 · 13/10/2023 11:27

Probably a bit of both @Vikki7 i definitely get breathless easily. I walk Down stairs at work but lifts to go up, it’s so painful otherwise. I was knackered walking to M&S for lunch yesterday, took me at least double the usual time

sashastuck · 13/10/2023 14:49

I’m another one breathless on the stairs. I look ridiculous at this point. Have taken my boots off at work for a couple of hours today because walking up and down them is just soooo slow and even worse in heeled shoes

Lightningrain · 13/10/2023 15:00

Yes, the struggle of stairs is getting to me as well. I parked in a multi storey car park last week and would always walk back up the stairs with no issue normally but I was puffing and panting like mad when I got halfway up.

I had my 28 week consultant appointment today. They decided to do a fundal measurement which was bang on expected. Apparently baby is still transverse but no issue at the moment with that. Last time they said they wouldn’t bother with extra growth scans but it was a different doctor this time and he said he’d schedule me in for 2 scans going forward just to keep an eye on things due to it being an IVF pregnancy. He agreed that essentially everything else would be midwife led and I won’t need to see a consultant again unless the midwives have any concerns which is good.

We’re hoping to get our nursery decorated this weekend so that I can have a sort out of clothes and make a list of what I still need to buy. It all seems more real now that everyone’s talking about Christmas!

Luhou · 13/10/2023 15:19

Really struggling with pelvic pain today. Baby feels so low and heavy. I cannot get comfortable.

Kalodin · 13/10/2023 15:22

Just bloody burst out crying to two of my Directors. I'm quite an emotional person anyway but this project I am so passionate about and determined to see through before maternity leave and there's just been a completely unexpected issue come out of absolutely nowhere. This could completely wipe it all away.

Feel so embarrassed.

Enjoy sorting the nursery out @Lightningrain - I'm desperate to get out DS' old baby stuff for me to sift through and sort but we haven't a space atm as we are in full reno mode here. What you planning on decorating? You chosen colours etc?

Kalodin · 13/10/2023 15:24

On the fitness talk and feeling breathless, anyone else listen to Pop That Mumma or follow her on insta? https://spotify.link/pao81W8HRDb

sashastuck · 13/10/2023 15:27

@Kalodin yes I’ve been listening to her recently! Sorry that you’ve had a setback at work. X

suz2285 · 13/10/2023 15:43

I'm right there with the walking, on the flat I'm ok but a bit slower but any sort of incline and I am dead! In my work car park it's a giant incline all the way up, it's difficult normally cos it's just a sustained 5 min hill, but now it's awful 😂 I've been told I can get a disabled pass for the car park at the front but feel a bit cheeky asking for it tbh! When I'm still going out for lunchtime walks 😂

It's just the uphill I cannot deal with, I'm so slow everyone just overtakes me! I used to be the overtaking person🙈

I've also got the start of a rash on my chest and tiny bit on bump, I googled and it seems to look more like a heat rash than anything else! I'll keep an eye on it tho! Really don't fancy being covered in a rash as well as everything else!!
