@Marple03 also have a breech baby discovered a few days ago. Felt the baby move into that position as well. Was transverse at 22 weeks.

Plenty of time to move though so I’m not worried

TunnocksTCake · 11/10/2023 20:30

@lucya66 I've just had the exact same thing. I was measuring ahead with my first too, that time they monitored it and did a gtt to rule out diabetes but this time they have deciddd to refer for scan straight away.
With my first she was measuring slightly large & born at 8lb6. This one is measuring 4 weeks ahead which does seem a lot!! Especially when they have already out me ahead 1.5 weeks of my dates at the 12 week scan!!
I see it as a bonus we get to see baby again 😊

Luhou · 11/10/2023 20:43

I was told I was measuring ahead with my first, sent for extra scans.... told she was 10lb + she was 6lb 7.5oz

lucya66 · 11/10/2023 20:43

Thanks all for replies :) I will see what they say

Mummyme87 · 11/10/2023 21:30

@Lightningrain it varies from trust to trust. IVF on its own isn’t consultant led at my trust, but at some they offer induction at 40wks although it’s not evidence based. You need all the mw appt still as doctors do bugger all at AN appt, and majority of the time it’s a registrar. I saw consultant at 24wks and will again 36wks re prev cs and prev pph x2.

back in uk now and straight back to work tomorrow 😴 I’m so swollen from the heat and flying, hope it goes down quickly. I’ve got itching follow up on Monday, 28wk midwife appt Wednesday and second GTT Friday! Fun!!

Mummyme87 · 12/10/2023 06:21

No one should worry about baby’s position until 36weeks, however I would advocate UFO positions throughout pregnancy to continue encouraging baby into good positions. Birthing balls are good to just sit on at home instead of lying back on the sofa

Onedayatatime24 · 12/10/2023 09:05

@lucya66 I measured 4 weeks ahead via the tape measure and was told he'd be huge by the midwife (I'm overweight and DH is 6 foot 5 so fair conclusion to come to tbf 😂). Went for a scan and he's actually slightly smaller than average (39th percentile) is growing perfectly based on all my previous scans. Was feeling very smug haha! Hope all goes well at the scan and try not to worry too much, everything's probably fine!

lucya66 · 12/10/2023 09:07

@Onedayatatime24 thanks they’ve booked me in for a scan today so I’ll find out. Nice opportunity to see baba again! X

Flossiepot · 12/10/2023 09:48

Hope the scan is ok @lucya66
Speaking of positions ours seemed to have got himself in an awkward one yesterday 🙈
Ended up going in for reduced movements, check heart rate etc and all fine but he'd moved into a really weird position where he was moving but it wasn't obvious at all. 😳 Had a good wriggle round and he seems to be back in original position so nice and obvious again now 🥰
Can't believe they're scaring us so much already!!

TunnocksTCake · 12/10/2023 11:09

@lucya66 that was quick! I'm interested to see what they say.

@Flossiepot it took my midwife ages to find the heartbeat last night too I was having to calm myself down even though I could feel him squirming so logically knew there must be a heartbeat - but where is it?!!

Flossiepot · 12/10/2023 11:18

@TunnocksTCake - gosh horrible isn't it.
Hope you're all doing ok and babies are all safe and well xxx

RG9895 · 12/10/2023 11:20

Feels reassuring to read all about the growth scans on here! Just came from my 28 week appt and I'm measuring 2 weeks ahead so been referred for a growth scan! Good thing is bubba is head down but no doubt she will flip all over the place 🤣

Also protein in my urine but only +1 which is apparently normal and could just be from discharge or something. Anyone else had this? Now I'm worrying about gestational diabetes and preeclampsia! They said my blood pressure is normal though so nothing to worry about unless that changes

OP posts:
Kalodin · 12/10/2023 11:32

Yes I have this every time @RG9895 - each time they send it off and it comes back all okay. Does worry you though doesn't it as we all know that protein is found in those with pre-eclampsia.

RG9895 · 12/10/2023 11:36

@Kalodin Ah thats reassuring to know, thank you! Yes it really does!

OP posts:
WitcheryDivine · 12/10/2023 12:03

I had that exact thing with protein and they said you should always wash immediately before doing a sample and do a "proper mid stream sample" (which tbh is easier said than done!). Anyway I did another one after a shower and that was fine, I think protein can just exist on the skin and sometimes inevitably get into pee.

RG9895 · 12/10/2023 12:06

@WitcheryDivine this is good to know too, thank you! I did have to force a wee out as i really didn't need one lol and had a shower maybe 2 hours before so next time I'll try all that and hopefully comes back clear ☺️

OP posts:
Lightningrain · 12/10/2023 12:06

@RG9895 yes, I’ve had that happen to me twice where there’s been a small amount of protein so they’ve sent the sample off for testing. Both times there was no issue so it must be fairly common.

PartRadish · 12/10/2023 12:21

Also had protein once a few weeks ago and it was nothing to worry about. I'm sure someone else asked on the previous thread too and there were quite a few of us that had had it.

Redpanda21 · 12/10/2023 12:35

I have protein and leukocytes at the moment.

RG9895 · 12/10/2023 12:39

Thanks ladies, good to know! Does sound common and nothing to worry about at the moment ☺️

MrsJ6921 · 12/10/2023 12:51

I stupidly didn’t ask for what percentile baby was on at my midwife appointment on Tuesday, I think I was traumatised from having her try and find a vein for my bloods. All the midwife said was ‘she’s growing perfect’ and her heartbeat was also ‘perfect’ and ridiculously my trust doesn’t seem to publish things to BadgerNotes. Ultimate fail on my behalf

suz2285 · 12/10/2023 13:03

@RG9895 i had protein a tiny trace last time too, again she said probably discharge which TMI but very possible considering the amount at the moment! I also didn't really need to go so it wasn't that Mid-stream as usual! The next test was fine!

Anyone else getting a bit more swollen now ? I'm noticing my legs and sometimes hands get swollen when i'm in the office, it's clearly because in the office i'm not moving as much and my legs are dangling, where as when i work from home i have them up on the sofa! All the advice says to move frequently, walk and drink loads which i'm doing, I also have compression socks which i'm not sure help or not tbh! BP is fine, and it goes away when I'm at home, just a bit irritating on office days! And the day after an office day i'm so tired and grumpy even though office days aren't any different!

lucya66 · 12/10/2023 13:38

Just back from scan and baby measuring perfectly ! The midwife must have been inaccurate to say it was measuring big. I thought that might be the case but reassuring either way :)

WitcheryDivine · 12/10/2023 13:44

That's great!

The midwife found the heartbeat again yesterday, does anyone else just feel so relaxed hearing the baby's heart?

Swelling is a weird one, I feel quite inflated today and my watch has got tight/bra feels horrible. Most days fine.
