We're going for the Avionaut Pixel Pro because it offers the best available positioning and support for smaller babies and it fits maxi cosi adaptors.

I did look into birth to four years seats but the advice from various independent seat specialists seems to be that they don't actually offer a safe fit until 4-6 months, despite being advertised as from birth.

Hummusanddipdip · 09/10/2023 13:04

I love that for you @LittleAlien24 have a wonderful wedding!!!

My first growth scan and next consultant apt are 2 weeks tomorrow. Ds was 2500g/5lbs 10oz at birth, so no idea what to expect weight wise this time, he was born 37 weeks by my dates, 37+6 by hospital.

TunnocksTCake · 09/10/2023 13:38

AAhh @LittleAlien24 congrats I hope you have a wonderful wedding and time with your husband, how special.

@Matildahoney Ive had awful piles, I went to pharmacy and they said no Anusol from behind the counter when pregnant so I have been using germoloids cream and suppositories religiously and it does help. Its horrid though you have my sympathies.

With car seats - especially if you have a small car - be aware that some can say they are compatible with your car but dont actually fit properly in reality so alsways see if you can try/ get someone at the shop to fit it so you can return of it doesnt work. With my first we had a VW Polo and an isofix nuna seat which came with the pram, and there was a huge gap between the car seat and the isofix base due to the angle of the seat - small car = steep backwards angle to the seats apparently and it just wouldnt sit properly. Sadly it was lockdown and I couldnt get anyone to actually look at it but it was very stressful!

I love the joie for my older girl but shes nearly outgrown it and need a 4+ one now - shes only just 3!!!

Also damning my huge boobs over here. Have awful sweat rash between them and need to get yet more bras, I had been wearing my usual bra in a larger size (Now a 34GG from a 30F) and found on saturday that the wires had actually cut into my skin under my boob - ouch! Think Im going ot have to give up on underwires but I hate my shape without them. Also really hate forking out on bras which are never cheap at my size. I was a similar size last pregnancy and went to an H after baby was born so sad to say they do usually get bigger again when milk comes in. Currently wearing a very comfortable and soft sports bra style one but its nt helping the between boob rash!

Redpanda21 · 09/10/2023 15:10

Had my 25 week midwife appointment today and baby has gone breech! None of my other 3 have ever been breech at any point 😂 Plenty of time to turn but this one is being a pickle and a half!

Have a trace of protein and leukocyteS so have to continue antibiotics.

All my appointments are now booked to 39 weeks, BP checks and growth scans. Although she did say it’s likely to go weekly further along. Goal is still get to 37 weeks.

Had it drilled into me for fetal movements, pre eclampsia signs etc. I feel very well looked after but my diary is rather full now!

Also re the car seats fitting, if you can, try it and then get whoever is going to sit in the passenger seat to sit and make sure they have the leg room! DH moans every time that he can't put the seat back far enough when he's the passenger cause the car seat is behind him.

TunnocksTCake · 09/10/2023 15:44

@buckingmad 100% this too, we ended up getting a bigger car in the end because we couldnt fit either of us in front of the car seat when rear facing but I accept that is an extravagant solution!! We did need a bigger car anyway for long journeys!!

buckingmad · 09/10/2023 15:58

@TunnocksTCake good point re the rear facing. DH would have more space if we spun her round to be forward facing but for now she’s happy as she is and it’s safer so going to hold out as long as possible

TunnocksTCake · 09/10/2023 16:02

@buckingmad yeah i didnt quite realise how much space a rear facing nap in a reclined car seat would take up!!

Matildahoney · 09/10/2023 18:12

Thanks @TunnocksTCake I'll get some germoloids! Glycerin suppositories?

We've just been and bought a Passat so hopefully it'll have room, DP sat in the back with the passenger seat right back and had tonnes of room, so hopefully all good, luckily I'm only 5"2 so if all else fails and we're both in the car he can drive and I'll be chauffered!

buckingmad · 09/10/2023 20:40

Feeling super sad tonight. DD doesn’t like mummy anymore and wants daddy or grandpa. I know deep down it’s because they let her get away with murder and I’m the one with the boundaries but it still hurts. Winds me up no end that I’ve done every night feed, every wake up until very recently, all the classes, all the vaccinations, all the crap stuff and other people get to swan in with their unlimited biscuits and treats and fun.

At 3am if she wakes up it’ll be me she calls out for mind you 😂

Vikki7 · 09/10/2023 20:55

@buckingmad sorry you're feeling sad about it, I remember my heart breaking when my daughter did the same thing, it's awful! It doesn't last long though, they always come running to Mama! Chin up!

I said I would post my ultrasound picture earlier, it's not quite clear but you can make it out of you know what you're looking at!! Baby boy is looking at the camera (portrait) with what seems to be his eyes open, little nose in the middle and he is sucking on his entire hand. I was shocked with how well he is measuring so far but I know it is still quite early to tel how things will turn out. Next scan is 30/10 so will see how he's doing by then ...

MrsJ6921 · 09/10/2023 21:15

My DH built all our nursery furniture at the weekend, it’s starting to feel very very real that Baby girl will be joining us. I just need to decide on some curtains, do some finishing decor touches and fill her drawers then it’ll be complete. So exciting!

Mummyme87 · 09/10/2023 21:51

@TunnocksTCake order the anusol on Amazon or with a supermarket order? Or just get someone to get it for you. It’s safe in pregnancy

Hummusanddipdip · 09/10/2023 21:54

Dh and ds felt baby move at the weekend!!! I got this photo of ds and me holding my belly, he then said to me "it's ok that he's a boy, I'll just 'tend he's a sister" I thought he'd got over the disappointment of not getting a sister, but clearly not 🤦‍♀️
I think dh and I need to do a little more work on helping ds accept he's going to be a brother not THE brother which is was he was so angry about when we told him.

FirstT1meMum · 10/10/2023 07:41

@Hummusanddipdip what a gorgeous photo! 😍

GTT test today, not too bothered about the test as it's a means to an end but the 2 hour wait is going to be frustrating! Hoping my phone signal is strong enough to get some work done 🤞

Luhou · 10/10/2023 09:19

Anybody feeling super tired again? Like first trimester tired. Not sure if this is normal or should get my iron checked (was on iron tablets during previous pregnancy).

suz2285 · 10/10/2023 09:34

@Luhou i was a few weeks ago, this week not quite so bad, i've actually been taking some extra iron, not masses just another daily one just to see if that helped but dunno if it was that or just hormones, i get my bloods again in a few weeks so i guess we shall see! But it might be worth asking if you're exhausted. Mostly this whole time i'm asking myself " is this normal pregnancy or something else!" Cos i've no idea!

Luhou · 10/10/2023 10:04

@suz2285 how many weeks are you? I'm coming 26 weeks. Just wondering if it's a typical time to be exhausted!

I stopped taking my pregnacare as it was really upsetting my stomach. I now just take a vitamin D.

suz2285 · 10/10/2023 10:13

@Luhou 26 as well, I'd say I felt exhausted around week 24, but it could be anything! I don't have heaps of energy any day tbh! You should be due more bloods in a few weeks as well?

TunnocksTCake · 10/10/2023 10:22

@Mummyme87 Thanks for the tip - I assumed because the pharmacist said I couldnt have it in pregnancy it wasnt safe, but would love to get some as its so much better than the others I have found! Do you know why they say its not recommended then, if it is safe?

TunnocksTCake · 10/10/2023 10:27

Had another early wake up with leg cramp today, its got to the point now that when it happens & I inevitably wake DH up he just automatically grabs my leg and rubs without asking!! Had weird pins and needles in my arm at the same time which is new, I wasnt even lying on that side but it was the weird kind when your hand feels huge, like youve got sausage fingers!

I'm really tired @Luhou, just over 26 weeks. I feel really heavy and almost always nearly fall asleep after lunch... have been wondering if it may be a GD thing as its worst after I eat but will ask midwife tomorrow. DH and I went to bed at 8 on Saturday, had a full on day with DD but nothing out of the norm really and I jut couldnt keep my eyes open!

Luhou · 10/10/2023 10:36

@TunnocksTCake glad to hear it's not just me. Friday night I went to bed at 7pm and slept until 7am and didn't even feel refreshed.

I haven't got my GD until I'm 29 weeks. Seems quite late if I have got GD.

Luhou · 10/10/2023 10:40

@TunnocksTCake alos has a 5am wake up due to leg cramp. So painful!

Kalodin · 10/10/2023 10:40

How is everyone's swelling? Never had it in previous pregnancies, but really feeling it in my hands and feet now (certainly can't wear my rings anymore) and the itching is sending me insane.

Really feel for you on the cramping @TunnocksTCake , suffered terribly with it first pregnancy. I do hope that it just stops for you soon. And as for the pharmacist saying its mot safe for the anusol, it's probably because everything just states generically that it's not safe. I've used it plenty of times during pregnancy on advice of MWs.

Flossiepot · 10/10/2023 10:49

@Luhou Mines at 29 weeks too!! I have that, a scan and consultants app on the same day.
Lovely way to spend the first day of my week off 😹
I don't feel like I've gained energy at all since knowing I was pregnant, I'm just tired all the bloody time and this is my first 🙈
