@Inmydreams88 we had one! Well actually we had 3 cos they couldn't see his face every time! But we still got some cute pics of his little face... just not as good as we would have had if he hadn't had his legs/hands over it every time!

This one was at 24 ish weeks!

Matildahoney · 08/10/2023 15:54

TMI warning!
Does anyone know what's recommended for haemorrhoids in pregnancy?
I'm not constipated & probably do need more veg, but I need a bit of relief!

FirstT1meMum · 08/10/2023 16:10

@Inmydreams88 we've just got home from our 4D! It took them three goes as she was sitting right down in my pelvis bone the first two tries and the third she had her band and cord by her face so the pictures still aren't perfect but on the third go they managed to get some pictures of her face! They really stuck at it and I reckon we were in the actual scan room for an hour and half in total!

HopeAndStrength · 08/10/2023 16:30

Aww I love the 4d scan pictures! We have talked about maybe going for one but haven't committed.

Yep I agree about big pregnancy boobs being uncomfortable... you're not missing out ladies, don't worry.
I outgrew my wired bras by 12 weeks, thankfully they haven't increased again (yet). Feeling quite ugly with mine to be honest as they are already really heavy and drooping if I don't wear support!! I'm very out of proportion with the rest of my body now.
Telling myself it's all for a good reason and that I'll treat myself to prettier bras after.

Hummusanddipdip · 08/10/2023 16:43

On boobs, I've gone from a 32dd to a 36f. And bump has now officially overtaken boobs 🤣

With ds they didn't really get bigger until after my milk came in, went up to a g cup, that was not nice, so heavy!

Kind of hoping they don't get too much bigger, at the moment they're in proportion and don't look weird. But also I'm producing colostrum, which I didn't notice last time. I want to start harvesting and storing just incase breast feeding doesn't work and I end up expressing again, all guidance I see says from 36 weeks onwards, would there be any negative effects if I started now? I'm 26 weeks.

Ttcdcno1 · 08/10/2023 17:01

@Hummusanddipdip If I don’t wear a bra I keep noticing every so often I get a few drops on my pjs. Only from 1 boob though😂

Mummyme87 · 08/10/2023 18:57

I haven’t bought new bras yet, wearing a non maternity normal bra that is feeling tight but okay, and a maternity one from previous that is comfortable. They’ve definitely changed shape though.
baby not as active today, infact I felt him this morning then was out earlier and questioned had he moved since this morning, he promptly gave me a few kicks. Definitely on a quiet day.

suz2285 · 08/10/2023 19:02

@FirstT1meMum lol the first scan I was jumping and jogging and then went away for a walk and a coke and he didn't move at all! Second time his hands were over his face, third time his legs 😂😂

they do try and get the best pics for you though 🥰

@HopeAndStrength I only went for the 3D option as it was our gender scan and then cos we'd couldn't get the pics we had to keep going back so I ended up with a few pics 😂 it was basically the same price as the normal gender scan - they won't tell you the gender here so we had to go private if we wanted to know, otherwise I'm not sure I'd have gone for the 3D!

@Hummusanddipdip yeah they say not to start early as nipple stimulation can cause uterine contractions which is why they say not to do it too early, I think!

EL27 · 08/10/2023 19:55

I also bought some maternity bras from Shein - I know their quality can be hit and miss but they were on a deal for just over £10 for 8 bras I couldnt say no!

Honestly really comfy andsupportive, I'm about a size 34C-D and they fit great. The three pack feel better quality than the 5 pack but it's good to have more when needed.

I also bought some of their baggy shirts, maternity leggings and 2 nappy caddys. Quality isn't best on the leggings but fine for when I'm lounging around the house. Great for anyone on a budget.

lilluce95 · 08/10/2023 22:35

@EL27 been eyeing some bits up on there for ages - thanks for sharing! I went shopping on Friday for some maternity bits and NOWHERE had anything in store - all online 🙃

EL27 · 08/10/2023 22:41

Also anyone got their car seat yet? If so what make did you get?

Been looking in stores and online and I'm still super confused what one is best to go for, so many different models and sizes just making me more confused (doesnt take much to confuse me with my baby brain anyway) 😅

sashastuck · 09/10/2023 06:37

@EL27 not that I’ve done too much research, but we got a Cybex Atom (or similar name) after recommendation from a family member. Seems good and on the cheaper side compared to some! X

MrsJ6921 · 09/10/2023 06:39

@EL27 Maxi Cosi Cabriofix. Lightweight and fits perfectly with isofix in my Fiat 500.

buckingmad · 09/10/2023 06:44

@EL27 can only recommend based on what we have!

Maxi Cosi pebble pro - used with first and using again with this one. Sturdy, well made, I like the isofix base too as it’s easy to take in and out and I like the beeping/light display if it’s not fitted correctly. Also got the adaptors so it fit on the pushchair which is v handy for when baby is asleep and I’m just nipping out.

maxi cosi Pearl (for next size up). Again loved. Same points as for the pebble. We ended up giving to MIL for their car and we got a joie spin. Am keeping an eye out for the Pearl spin for this baby to then go into when they grow out of the pebble.

Joie spin - hate with a passion. You can’t disconnect from the base so taking it in and out is so much harder. It feels cheap.

Matildahoney · 09/10/2023 07:26

@EL27 we went to mamas and papas for a car seat appointment as our pram is an ocarro. We wanted a seat that would fit the pram, fully recline & had the turn function, means we have a choice of 1! Being the Cybex T cloud I size or something. But turns out so isofix bases are not universal if you're using one, so you also have to check that against your car.

LittleAlien24 · 09/10/2023 08:00

Hi everyone. Trying to read back but it's a lot 😁 hope everyone doing well.
Im finally in Ireland and with my dear husband to be. It's the first time to see each other since we found out in may that im pregnant . It is so nice to lie down and let him feel the movements and oh baby isn't shy of showing off lol next week is our wedding and then few days after that im heading back home and we won't see each other again until Christmas 😔

Ttcdcno1 · 09/10/2023 09:05

Glucose test this morning for me. I’m hungry already 😂I was expecting the drink to be disgusting from what I’ve heard but it’s just really thick. Doesn’t actually taste of much

Vikki7 · 09/10/2023 09:09

I was supposed to have my GTT this morning but I declined so I'm having my growth scan only this morning. Can't wait to see my boy again. Just waiting outside the ultrasound room now. Hoping placenta has moved upwards as it was low lying before. Good luck with your GTT @Ttcdcno1

Flossiepot · 09/10/2023 09:29

Oooh good luck @Ttcdcno1 - hope it goes ok.
@Vikki7 - hope your little boy is growing as he should! Can't wait to see our little boy again in a couple of weeks 🥰
@Matildahoney - we've gone for the Ocarro bundle too, wasn't sure on the isofix possibly being different will have to check that one.
3 months til due date today for me 🙈 Feeling very real now. Hope you're all doing ok

Vikki7 · 09/10/2023 09:42

Just had my growth scan and it's all looking great! Placenta has moved upwards, baby boy estimated weight is 1170g or 2lb 9oz. My other 2 were SGA so I've never had a baby this big at this point before! So exciting!! He was sucking his hand on the picture which I'll put up later. Now sitting waiting on consultant to review scan results and probably question my reasons to decline GTT!

Mushroo · 09/10/2023 09:53

Car seat wise I think we’re not doing a travel bundle and just going for either the maxi cosi pearl or the silver cross motion all size.

Both swivel, and the maxi cosi lasts 4 years whereas the silver cross lasts 12!

I was tempted by a travel system but it’s so heavy and I don’t actually drive that often so didn’t think it was worth it for me.

buckingmad · 09/10/2023 11:30

@Mushroo they are so heavy! I'm still lifting the pushchair into the boot of our SUV now and its so hard 😂

Mushroo · 09/10/2023 11:32

@buckingmad definitely! I don’t know if I’m just puny but the car seats were pretty heavy without a baby in it 😂

buckingmad · 09/10/2023 11:36

@Mushroo oh they really are. My arm would be killing just walking to and from the drive 😂just don't fall into the same trap as everyone and always hold baby/car seat on one side. I went for physio once DD was a few months and I was horrifically wonky.

Mummyme87 · 09/10/2023 11:40

Good news for scan @Vikki7

On car seat front we’ve had maxi cosi cabriofix but they’ve both hated it with a passion. Too squashed in there so really want something different this time but don’t want another car seat that will only last a short time as need a toddler one anyway as last one broke. So don’t know. Liked the look of Joie 360 spin, had a good play at the baby show but not 100%
