@Mushroo my trust GDM is not suitable for MLU and requires continuous monitoring, however we commonly see women having an outside of guidelines plan to use MLU in a diet controlled GDM scenario. Do your research, we are in the process of trying to get it within guidelines like other trusts.

@Mushroo I had a drip induction at 37 weeks with my GD, and honestly the experience was good. Ask for the stick on monitors rather than the straps, I could still walk around the room, bounce on the ball etc, birth one upright position. Whatever happens you can make it lovely and the midwives will help you

Mushroo · 05/10/2023 09:14

@Mummyme87 @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 thank you both 😊 I’m seeing my midwife on Friday so going to discuss my options.

Really hoping to avoid being tied to a bed if possible, so as long as I can move I think I’ll be ok.

Kalodin · 05/10/2023 10:28

Me with a Q, at what point does itching become a concern? Past 3 days I am particularly itchy on my upper arms, shoulders and across my chest.

Lightningrain · 05/10/2023 10:54

@Kalodin I’ve had similar. My skin seems to be a lot more sensitive recently. I’ll probably mention it at my midwife appointment next week.

I read that it’s best to get checked out if you get itching on palms of hands or soles of feet but that sensitive skin and itching can be quite common in pregnancy. I do suffer with sensitive skin normally so it’s not that unusual for me.

Kalodin · 05/10/2023 11:00

Thank you @Lightningrain Thats reassuring, definitely not itching on soles or palms.

Mummyme87 · 05/10/2023 11:08

My palms are super itchy still. Bloods all normal
though so just repeat them after two weeks

Redpanda21 · 05/10/2023 11:25

Any questions you guys can think of that I can ask the consultant tomorrow?

I didn’t see one until 37weeks last time and then I was discharged but had to have weekly BP monitoring.

Background is I have high BP in the final trimester and have had multiple early mc and last baby was on 19th centile when born.

This time I have an additional concern which is my PI in the uterine arteries is above the 97th centile so high risk for pre eclampsia and IUGR and potentially early delivery as a result

Kalodin · 05/10/2023 13:30

Things I asked mine @Redpanda21

What's the preventative plan?
Is there anything you can do to help manage this pregnancy?
What monitoring is advised and what would it entail and be looking out for?
At what stage would action need to be taken and what could that be?

Kalodin · 05/10/2023 13:30

Ah that's good news then yes @Mummyme87 ? Hopefully just an oddity of pregnancy?

Booklover88 · 05/10/2023 13:33

Hi all, was wondering if anyone else has had covid during their pregnancy? I’ve got it at the moment and feel absolutely awful! Struggling to manage that and gestational diabetes-all the things I’d normally eat to try and make myself feel better are off limits. Hoping once this is out the way, it’s smooth sailing for the rest of my pregnancy!

MrsJ6921 · 05/10/2023 15:21

Has anyone had their lashes done in pregnancy? How did you lie? I’m a little conscious of lying down for two hours so I might take my pregnancy pillow with me!

WitcheryDivine · 05/10/2023 15:30

Good news about your bloods @Mummyme87 😍

Sorry you're feeling crap @Booklover88 - I don't have any helpful advice except keep an eye on your chest afterwards as I developed a really horrid chest infection right after I had it.

Mushroo · 05/10/2023 16:04

Oh @Booklover88 its one thing after another isn’t it.

Hope you don’t feel too bad. Do you like cheese? I’d go for something with loads of melty cheese as a bit of a treat. Not the same as carbs and chocolate I know :/

Booklover88 · 05/10/2023 16:45

@Mushroo yes I do like cheese, living off scrambled eggs at the moment!

@WitcheryDivine fortunately it’s presenting more as a head cold at the moment-I’ve pulled a stomach muscle from sneezing!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 05/10/2023 17:08

@Booklover88 yes I did. I was told to keep my temperature low with paracetamol if I had a fever, and lots of fluids. Hope you feel better soon. It's rubbish feeling ill and feeling crappy while pregnant.

Maybe a chicken soup or noodle soup and some baked Camembert

FirstT1meMum · 05/10/2023 17:30

@RG9895 been thinking of you today. How are your movements now? X

RG9895 · 05/10/2023 18:24

@FirstT1meMum aw bless you! I was talking to my husband about you earlier saying how nice it is to speak to other ladies in the same boat about movements 🥹 I couldn't sleep last night and felt her around 2am and after my lunch today she went on a mad one and even got some on video so I think shes ok in there thankfully. Definitely different place and position though! How about you?? X

FirstT1meMum · 05/10/2023 19:07

@RG9895 that's fantastic news! Definitely sounds like she's moved position. It really helps me having somewhere to go and ask people as I don't have many! Yes Definitely been a lot more active today. She had a good few kicks this morning before I got ready for work then felt her through the day. These girls eh! Xx

sashastuck · 05/10/2023 19:16

@MrsJ6921 I did at about 17 weeks, I lay on my back but slightly on the left side if that made sense? She put a little pillow under my back. It wasn’t comfortable at all FYI 😂

@Mummyme87 great about your bloods x

@Booklover88 sorry that you’ve got covid as well as the GD! I agree something cheesy sounds great 😍

MrsJ6921 · 05/10/2023 20:22

@sashastuck thank you! I don’t find it that comfy anyway never mind being 30+ weeks pregnant then. But I’m happy to sacrifice my comfort to have nice lashes for my baby shower 🤣

RG9895 · 05/10/2023 20:39

@FirstT1meMum it definitely does! Amazing, so glad your little girl is ok and having a good wriggle too! For sure, they are going to be a handful 😂 xx

Ttcdcno1 · 05/10/2023 21:35

@MrsJ6921 every 2 weeks! Same as what @sashastuck said lie on my side with a pillow propped under my back to lean on and a pillow between my knees. I love going cause I’ve been going to her that long she’s a friend and it’s so nice seeing her reaction to my bump every couple of weeks 🥰

MrsJ6921 · 05/10/2023 21:43

@Ttcdcno1 brilliant thank you! Awww that’s so sweet! My nail tech is like gang and it’s so nice that people are genuinely interested in your pregnancy

Redpanda21 · 05/10/2023 22:12
