@Onedayatatime24 my husband is the same and literally uses it purely for marketplace! It’s great for buying baby/toddler stuff. We got a baby bjorn swinging chair thing, a white company gym mat, my toddlers play kitchen, toddler car etc. I’m getting my toddlers Christmas present off there too! (Balance bike and scooter).

Matildahoney · 01/10/2023 09:23

We were advised by various professionals to wait until baby is here before looking at carriers, different babies will like different carriers, so they suggested a sling library once they're here.
You also have to be careful they support the hips correctly, not all carriers are good for this.

Mushroo · 01/10/2023 10:11

@Matildahoney Im planning to do this too. I’ve bought a free rider wrap (which seems lovely) and I’m going to go to a sling library once she’s here for something a bit more robust / long term.

Just to mention, the Ergo baby omni 360 is for newborn (no insert required) until about age 3. We loved ours. The newborn carriers they outgrow so quickly. At 19 months we still use ours for difficult dog walks. It's not too much more than the Ergo new born carrier

Flossiepot · 01/10/2023 11:19

Oooh handy info on the slings / carriers. I've been trying to find an alternative to the baby bjorn due to the cost and ergo is looking good. Has anyone used both to get an idea?

Mummyme87 · 01/10/2023 12:09

The old baby bjorn is shite. Really
not advised for their hips, alot of the cheap brands like chicco/tomy or ones you get in supermarkets are the same. Avoid like the plague.

Flossiepot · 01/10/2023 12:30

Perfect @Mummyme87 thank you!!

sashastuck · 01/10/2023 13:19

Great info everyone, thank you! Excited to use the Moby and after your post @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I’ve just gone and ordered the Omni 360 off Vinted for £80! There’s a few new ones on there if anyone else is on Vinted. I know its hasty to buy before trying but have done a ton of research so hopefully 🤞🏼

LittleAlien24 · 01/10/2023 16:38

Im still not sure should i get a wrap or carrier or not bother. I tried carrier with my first and wrap with my second and only used them few times. I've back problems so was killing my back using them.

Looks like i can't do anything. I just packed few bags, walked up and down the stairs quite few times and daughter practiced eye make up on my for a while and thats it. My stomach went hard and now I've pains on my right side 😣 it's every time like this the minute i do anything

Inmydreams88 · 01/10/2023 17:14

Looking at my boobs after my bath today I noticed i have slightly red mottled skin around the areolas which Iooks like my areolas are expanding. Not sure how to describe it but it's the same in both boobs. Anyone noticed this?

Luhou · 01/10/2023 17:21

@Inmydreams88 I had a red blotchy rash come up on my breasts the other day. It lasted a few hours and then went.

sashastuck · 01/10/2023 17:51

@Inmydreams88 I’ve had a little bit of that, like the outlines of the areola are a bit blurred?

Inmydreams88 · 01/10/2023 18:01

sashastuck · 01/10/2023 17:51

@Inmydreams88 I’ve had a little bit of that, like the outlines of the areola are a bit blurred?

Yeah it's also like its coming out of the areola

suz2285 · 01/10/2023 18:30

@WitcheryDivine have you had more movement today?

I've had a quiet day of baby movement, he's moved but it's very faint and much weaker and less frequent than usual, I'm sure he's just got himself in a dodgy position but I called triage so I'm going up soon to have a wee check, think they just said they'd listen to the HB??

Mushroo · 01/10/2023 18:51

@suz2285 where I am pre 26 weeks they just use a Doppler, post 26 weeks they’ll use the ctg machine.

Not sure if it’s the same everywhere. Hope all is well for you x

suz2285 · 01/10/2023 18:52

@Mushroo yeah they just said they listen to the HB, which I'm assuming is fine as he's still moving it's just less and fainter, assuming he's just gone further back it's just a change so I am feeling a bit panicky about it

I'm going in soon hopefully it'll just be a quick check and then home 🤞

FirstT1meMum · 01/10/2023 19:30

@suz2285 hope everything goes okay ❤️

Luhou · 01/10/2023 19:45

Anybody elses dog suddenly following them around like shadow? She wants me to lay down so she can put her head on my bump.

suz2285 · 01/10/2023 19:49

Thanks @FirstT1meMum heart the heartbeat, did bp and urine, all fine... she then came back and said she'd refer me for a scan within 3 days which I wasn't expecting! Not sure why if all is ok, but 🤷‍♀️

Was in the bit where they start inductions too and I remembered how much I hate hospital noises!! 🙈🙈

Kalodin · 01/10/2023 20:15

Does sound like all is okay though I'd they didn't scan right away @suz2285 ? How many weeks are you now?

Did anyone else find their thirst suddenly ramp up at around 22/23 weeks? This weekend I cannot seem to quench it!

suz2285 · 01/10/2023 20:19

@Kalodin 25+1 today, I've just had a look at my fundal measurement which they did on Wednesday at the midwife and he was on the higher end, today she's measured me on the very lower end so I reckon that's why she's referred for a scan! They're basically saying he's gone from 90% centile to the 10% within a few days, which is clearly not accurate - the difference was 1cm and both still within the normal range for the gestation!

She didn't say that but it was kinda busy in there so she was prob dealing with a few things!!

Mummyme87 · 01/10/2023 20:22

All trusts have different policies for varying things like fundal height/RFM.
my trust don’t do fundal height at all, just routine 36week scan for everyone to capture small babies that way.

I’m thinking about seeing a chiropractor for my SPD. It’s so debilitating. I can’t sit upright for more than a minute without pain, walking is getting worse, and so far to go!

buckingmad · 01/10/2023 20:25

I realised earlier I’ve not really felt “kicks” the last couple of days but more general movement. I can’t remember from my first if that is normal or not so I might ring tomorrow just to ask. I do have an anterior placenta so I wonder if baby has moved behind that as they’ve got bigger. Also feeling really tired and getting floaters in my eyes so think I’m maybe running low on iron which would be exactly like I was with my first!

suz2285 · 01/10/2023 20:33

@Mummyme87 yeah fundal height seems silly to me! I had a private scan on thur and the measurements were all right on track

Sounds like you def need to see someone about spd that sounds so painful

@buckingmad it's a stressful time isn't it! Midwife said to me today as they get bigger the movements do change but that's why they just ask you to look for a pattern rather than x amount of kicks, as they do run out of space so tumbles and stuff become less pronounced, but yeah it's so anxiety inducing not knowing exactly what's normal for each baby!
