@Mummyme87 hope you manage to sleep at least a bit. Feel sorry for your son, having worms is not a nice feeling.
@sashastuck enjoy the baby show

Just got a text from my OH that he's in bits, got even send home early from work last night. He got a cold few days ago at work. I feel for him but why now, i will be there next week and i don't want to get sick plus we have so much to do while im there only for about 10 days.

sashastuck · 30/09/2023 09:42

@Dannic2018 thank you, feeling so much calmer today.

Online4baby has an amazing sale on right now for anyone who hasn’t got their pram/travel system yet… I’m seeing 50% off some sets! Just got some bits for the cot like bedding and a mobile

Mummyme87 · 30/09/2023 11:08

@Dannic2018 he’s had it before, both of them have, I felt so sorry for him last night. Especially after being sick in the week. My alarm woke me at 6.25 after not sleeping until 2am. I’m doing overtime today until 3, almost cancelled my shift but need the cash!!

enjoy the baby show @sashastuck they’ve got cafe and restaurant also so can have a nice chill half way to consider your purchases

WitcheryDivine · 30/09/2023 14:17

Haven’t really felt movement today. Trying not to freak out but starting to.

WitcheryDivine · 30/09/2023 14:32

Hope you’re ok @sashastuck - was it an important row or more a blow up over nothing?

PartRadish · 30/09/2023 16:12

@WitcheryDivine I hadn't either today! Decided about an hour ago to eat and drink something sweet and then ring triage. Had 2 glasses of 7up and half a big bar of Lindt and she's just starting having a party in the last 5 minutes.

Worth a try but would also say don't hesitate to ring triage, that's what they're there for.

Mushroo · 30/09/2023 16:30

I went to triage today for reduced movements. Honestly just go, it’s a faff and can take ages but you’ll feel better once you’ve been.

WitcheryDivine · 30/09/2023 16:34

Thanks I rang them an hour ago but no call back - should I just go down there?

WitcheryDivine · 30/09/2023 16:50

On my way - are you ok @Mushroo ?

Mushroo · 30/09/2023 16:52

@WitcheryDivine yeh fine I think! The CTG machine thing was ‘inconclusive’ both times so I have to go for a scan this week, but the midwife and doctor said that the results looked ok to them so the scan is largely precautionary. Feel like I’ve spent all day there!

Hope it goes well for you xx

WitcheryDivine · 30/09/2023 18:45

Thanks for the encouragement - they listened to heartbeat and did some basic tests but said all seemed fine thank God.

sashastuck · 30/09/2023 18:47

Thanks @WitcheryDivine all good now, it was somewhere in between - over something that’s important to me but turned into a massive nitpicking back and forth turned harsher than it needed to be. Hope all is well at the hosp checking out baby - bet they’ll be wiggling away as soon as you get there!

@Mushroo hope all is good with your bub, an extra scan sounds nice! I know it must be worrying having to go in twice in a week though, have lots of rest tonight! ❤️

@Mummyme87 how was your shift and how is your poorly boy?

We got a wrap sling today. Watching the demonstration of how to wear it made things feel so real. I’m watching my hypnobirthing course vids now like shit this baby is actually going to be here soon 😂

Mushroo · 30/09/2023 18:50

@sashastuck thank you! Yeh they didn’t seem overly worried so hoping it’s a normal scan and nice bonus to see her again :). I’ll report back in any case.

I feel the same now we’re buying stuff, if feels very soon she’ll be here!!

Mummyme87 · 30/09/2023 19:13

@sashastuck which one did you buy? I saw the izmi and moby. Shift was fine, I’m dead on my feet. DS2 is in bed exhausted but already crying about his bum 😑

MrsJ6921 · 30/09/2023 19:25

@sashastuck we also bought a baby carrier today (close enough to a wrap anyway!)

buckingmad · 30/09/2023 19:33

We had a moby wrap with DD for the first like 6 weeks then once she was a bit sturdier we started using our baby Bjorn sling more. I prefer the feel of the wrap and it’s better for baby’s hips but it’s just such a faff 😂 I did get pretty quick near the end though. I remember using it to go on a little dog walk around day 5 and thinking how on Earth did I carry her in my body just a few days ago. DH wasn’t very good at getting it tight enough so she’d end up slipping whereas I’m a seasoned pro at bandaging horses legs and the concept was pretty similar 😂

Someones just tried to use my credit card for a £200 purchase. Didn’t even know id lost it as I use my Apple Pay all the time. So now I’m having a bath to de stress.

sashastuck · 30/09/2023 20:17

Went for the Moby! DP learnt how to use it with the man assisting him and he quite liked it so we thought yeah let’s do it. I do want an Ergobaby or something similar though for when he gets a bit older x

Mummyme87 · 30/09/2023 20:39

I had a moby with DS1. It was great and very comfortable. I’ve had ergobaby carriers but didn’t rave review them, have one now I want to get rid of and try something else.

atill lying with DS2, think this is going to be a very sleepless night again

Onedayatatime24 · 30/09/2023 23:43

For those who have tried the Moby - is there a difference between cheaper and more expensive wraps? I've been looking at the Moby but to me they all look like just stretchy pieces of fabric so wasn't sure whether a cheapish one will do the job the same?

We got an ergo baby off vinted for a pretty good deal but I do like the idea of a wrap, especially while he's still tiny!

Mummyme87 · 01/10/2023 07:32

@Onedayatatime24 not sure about difference between moby and a cheaper version. Izmi wraps are cheaper and will be just as good, they do well rated slings. Wear my baby are very good and obviously knowledgeable on wraps/slings

MrsJ6921 · 01/10/2023 07:33

We went for the Ergobaby embrace in soft olive. I liked the security it offered and can be used from Newborn. I found John Lewis had the best price!

buckingmad · 01/10/2023 08:48

@Onedayatatime24 i got my moby off fb marketplace for £5

Onedayatatime24 · 01/10/2023 09:00

@Mummyme87 ooh thanks I'll have a look at those!

@buckingmad good shout! I try and avoid Facebook so I always forget about marketplace 🤦‍♀️

LozzieLoo · 01/10/2023 09:17

I’m also considering the ergobaby embrace as it seems good for when they’re little and I think I’d struggle with a wrap.

I’m a FTM so a bit unsure about what to buy for baby will sleep in? I’ve seen the love to dream swaddles which look good but do some babies hate them? How many do I buy (and what size) and what else should I buy to start with? It’ll be chilly in January when he’s here!

FirstT1meMum · 01/10/2023 09:18

26 weeks today and officially in double figures until little one is here (98 days) 😳

This is probably going to be really silly (as is most things I ask) but I'm not sure where else to go! Baby was very active yesterday and I noticed her a lot! Should I have rang triage about an increase? I put it down to being the weekend and her now being bigger that I would just naturally feel her more. Absolutely ridiculous I know, think I'm having a wave of hormones this weekend too!
