Hello!

I got a BFP this morning and think that I am approximately 4 weeks pregnant.
Whilst I am of course delighted, I had a chemical pregnancy last month and so my initial elation has quickly been replaced with fear and wishing that I didn't know so early!

Just wondering if there is anyone in the same boat? If really appreciate some company and morale support during the wait!

Thank you x

@Cinderz123 congratulations!

I'm on the same medicines as you, progesterone, aspirin and clexane. I don't have a scan till 12 weeks which I don't think is right because of the above but nobody will really listen.

Cinderz123 · 25/08/2023 14:30

@Greenvelvetdress they haven't given me thr progesterone as my consultant hadn't written it in my plan it was my Dr's suggestion and they wouldn't consider it until he's bk off leave in 2 weeks! But for now I'm just glad there is a plan, who prescribed ur medication Dr? Can't they refer u to epu? I was told due to the medications il likely be under high risk clinic I think they said xx

Greenvelvetdress · 25/08/2023 15:21

I had my two early scans at the EPU but they said after the second that everything looked great and I'd next have my 12 week scan 😬 I guess there's nothing they can do before then but does make me a tad anxious.

I'm due to see a consultant at 16 weeks and then be under high risk too. X

Cinderz123 · 25/08/2023 15:37

@Greenvelvetdress sounds like we are on a similar journey xx

DizzyM43 · 25/08/2023 16:22

@Cinderz123 that's amazing news! Congrats what a relief I'm booked in for Tuesday with EPU for a scan so hoping for the same news

@Greenvelvetdress great news also wishing you well with your pregnancy

DizzyM43 · 26/08/2023 07:55

Hi so I spoke to EPAC yesterday as have a history of miscarriage and have been anxious im getting a scan done Tues to hopefully put my mind at rest.

Dating tests- while there the midwife I spoke too when I mentioned the dating tests said that these are unreliable, she mentioned many people don't get a 3+ at all with them and said that they can appear temperamental, so just wanted to post and say to everyone worrying over getting a 3+ on a clear blue dating test you really don't need too as even the midwife commented and it was info she offered I didn't question or ask about the reliability myself 😃

WolfMother326 · 26/08/2023 13:35

Hey @DizzyM43 glad you're getting a scan, fingers crossed for good news. Mine is on Wednesday :)

DizzyM43 · 26/08/2023 16:05

@WolfMother326 I'm not sure whether I'm dreading it or excited 😆 how are you feeling about yours?

Greenvelvetdress · 26/08/2023 17:33

@Cinderz123 got a private scan today and saw the heartbeat again 🥰 measuring 8+5/6 which is bang on for date of conception. Told a few more people after today.

WolfMother326 · 26/08/2023 18:44

@Greenvelvetdress congratulations! Great news.

@DizzyM43 I'm trying to be positive and actually believe the mantra 'this pregnancy is developing normally until someone tells me otherwise'. I'm definitely nervous but I think I'm more excited.

Cinderz123 · 26/08/2023 18:45

@Greenvelvetdress that's amazing news!! Congratulations im so happy for you 😊 xx

WolfMother326 · 30/08/2023 13:01

Hey @DizzyM43 how was the scan? I had mine today and it was helpful

jeepjeep4 · 31/08/2023 09:08

Really positive early scan for me yesterday. Measuring right on track which is fantastic

WolfMother326 · 31/08/2023 09:20

Congratulations @jeepjeep4 ❤️

jodie000 · 31/08/2023 12:23

Had my booking appt today which was all fine. Rather surreal to have it confirmed.
Private scan booked for next Sunday, fingers crossed it all plods along until 12 wks!

WolfMother326 · 31/08/2023 12:57

@jodie000 that's great. How far along are you? I haven't heard anything re: booking appointment but was told not to expect anything til after 8 weeks!

jodie000 · 31/08/2023 13:05

@WolfMother326 I'm 7 wks +1 today, I booked the appointment a couple of weeks ago, they didn't say anything about waiting :)
I registered my pregnancy on my local hosp website and they contacted me a few days after with an appt day.

Mrsttcno1 · 31/08/2023 13:12

Everyone who’s had early scans, have they been transvaginal? Mine is booked for next Friday and i’m wondering if they are painful at all! X

Greenvelvetdress · 31/08/2023 13:33

Mine were transvaginal at 5 and 6 weeks. Then had a abdominal scan last week at 8+3 which was lovely. Some private scans won't do transvaginal but if they do, they're not painful at all, if anything I find the abdominal on a full bladder worse 😬

Mrsttcno1 · 31/08/2023 13:36

Thank you! Xx

Lorddenning1 · 31/08/2023 13:50

Can I join you, I got mine BFP yesterday at 10DPO.
I had a MMC in April and we only found out at our 12 week scan and in June we found out it was a molar pregnancy so have been under Caring cross until last Friday and then I was discharged.
It's weird because I had a blood test on the 20th and my results came back with normal range and they discharged only to get a positive test on the 26th august, so 6 days later. I have no idea how, but I'm torn between worrying about this pregnancy and thinking what will be will be and I can't do anything to stop it if it happens etc.
Going to be hard to wait a few weeks until I can go to the EPU for an early scan.

It depends on the trust @WolfMother326 some areas will see you early and some won't even contact you until you're 8 weeks.

I registered mine on the hospital/Trust website at 4+4 and got an email at 5+2 saying they'll be in touch at 8-10 weeks to arrange my appointment.

It does make sense to not have the booking in appointment until a bit later in the first trimester, the miscarriage risk drops to about 5% at week 8, and there's probably a lot of 'wasted' resources spent on seeing women at 5 or 6 weeks who will then go on to have an early miscarriage.

Seems horrible to us, but from a practical standpoint i do get it.

I want to wait as long as possible for mine really, as my bmi is currently over 30 and I'd love to be able to get it below that before the booking appointment (from cutting out booze, aversion to most sweets and horrible nausea and bowel cramps when I eat more than a few mouthfuls, I assume I'll lose some weight).

The plan was to just eat healthier, but apparently my body and hormones decided to amend that to barely eating at all 😅

WolfMother326 · 31/08/2023 16:00

@XenaTheWarriorPrincess it makes perfect sense, you're right. I just want to know the date so I can arrange childcare in advance but I'm sure I'll get the info soon. Really nice to know that the miscarriage rate goes down so much by 8 weeks.

Good for you on the weight loss goal, but sorry you're feeling so sick! I lost 3 kg in first tri with first baby but I was much thinner then. This time I'm a bit heavier and a little less sick and eating things like croissants helps my nausea so I doubt I'll be losing any weight this time!

WolfMother326 · 31/08/2023 16:00

@Lorddenning1 wishing you good luck on this pregnancy ❤️

Ttcmumma · 31/08/2023 17:27

Hey ladies, about 8 weeks now... I've managed to catch COVID 🤦🏼‍♀️I actually think I caught it at my booking appointment in the hospital!! I had really high temps and was so ill yesterday but I managed to get this under control with just paracetemol and feeling a fair bit better today.

Is this something I need to be worried about or call anyone about?
