Hello!

I got a BFP this morning and think that I am approximately 4 weeks pregnant.
Whilst I am of course delighted, I had a chemical pregnancy last month and so my initial elation has quickly been replaced with fear and wishing that I didn't know so early!

Just wondering if there is anyone in the same boat? If really appreciate some company and morale support during the wait!

Thank you x

Morning @DizzyM43 ☺️ my nausea seems to have vanished for now not complaining tho 😆 as for emotions I am crying at everything lol iv had to give up tanning as no matter what I watch at night happy or sad I'm a blubbering mess lol im super fatigued tho napping around 3pm and insomnia has gone meaning I sleep like a log all night but I wake at the crack of dawn wide eyed and bushy tailed not like me lol xx

Ttcmumma · 21/08/2023 10:35

Hey ladies, anyone know anything about early scans? Had mine this morning. Going by LMP I'm 6+2 but app thinks I'm 6+4. Baby was seen with heartbeat even on an abdominal scan! They then done transvaginal to do measurements and baby is measuring 6 weeks, 4mm CRL. She said all looks ok at the moment but if course her not saying somewhere between 6+2 and 6+4 worried me😅 sounds ok tho, what do you guys think?

Cinderz123 · 21/08/2023 10:41

@Ttcmumma try not to worry urself iv seen lots of threads where by 12 week scan baby has caught up with the mothers dates 🥰 as long as they have no cause for concern hopefully you are baking nicely xx

DizzyM43 · 21/08/2023 11:31

@Cinderz123 aww good that insomnia has gone and nice to have a break from nausea, the crying is nuts isn't it I even managed to cry at a comedy I was watching 🙈😂

Cinderz123 · 21/08/2023 12:17

@DizzyM43 I cried at the little Mermaid 🤣 and a kid singing on America's got talent 🙈 xx

Morning! Just had my phonecall to book in my first appointment, 12th September!😬 does anyone know if partners should attend this one? I totally forgot to ask while on the phone x

CinderRosie · 21/08/2023 14:41

I welled up at the start of the England game yesterday (which quickly turned to rage and disappointment haha)

nmt1996 · 21/08/2023 15:46

Hi everyone! I enjoyed reading through this post. How exciting that were all having babies in April!

I may have missed a few posts but wondering has anyone had an early scan yet?

I went for a scan at 5 weeks 5 days and fetal pole was measuring 3.3mm, she said everything looks good and on track but was unable to detect the heartbeat, said it was probably too early.

Wondering if anyone has had a similar experience?

Greenvelvetdress · 21/08/2023 16:31

@nmt1996 yep, I had one at 5+2 I think and they could see the same as you, had another at 6+4 and they could see the heartbeat x

Worriedpregnancy · 21/08/2023 16:41

I am 38 years old and 5 weeks pregnant. I found out at 4 weeks. It is my 3rd pregnancy other kids 2 and 4. The pregnancy was very unplanned and my husband thinks that is for the best that we have an abortion. He is very anxious about the health and development of the baby as we have had a summer with lot of drinking. We were in holidays in France where we drank wine every day, I smoked a few cigarettes each day too. This was all pre conception. In the weeks surrounding conception we were at family events/dinners/celebrations where we both were drinking. I drank a lot of wine over this summer period and smoked quite a bit. Haven’t since I found out. But is it worth risking our happy healthy family?

Ttcmumma · 21/08/2023 16:49

@Worriedpregnancy the drinking and smoking won't have affected the pregnancy this early on Hun. They say as long as you stop as soon as you get a bfp you'll be fine. Some people don't know until much later and baby is still fine x

netflixandnochill · 21/08/2023 19:54

@Worriedpregnancy Tough conversations and I feel for you. Nothing you will have done in this pregnancy to date will negatively affect the pregnancy as you’ve found out ‘early’. If your potential decision is solely based around health and if you can wait, I’d have a harmony at 10 weeks and make a decision based on that. Whatever decision you make is the right one.

WolfMother326 · 21/08/2023 20:58

@Worriedpregnancy I think it's Emily Oster who's book shows all the research on how nothing you do in the two week wait will impact the health of the baby- if you party too hard the embryo won't stick, but as the baby isn't getting anything from the placenta yet (it hasn't formed) you really aren't doing damage. The book is called Expecting Better. I can try to take a picture of the page tomorrow if that helps.

@Ttcmumma they really can't be super accurate at 6 weeks so I think that all sounds right to me based on previous early scans. Have you ever had one before the NHS 12 week one? I think the dating accuracy gets better closer to 8-12 weeks.

I hope I managed to escape the HFM and my son is feeling better. I'm utterly exhausted. In my first pregnancy didn't realise how lucky I was to lay around in bed feeling awful or napping whenever I wanted, now my 2 y o completely prevents that 😅

I have had to change my early scan date to 6+4 instead of 7+4 due to work. So hoping it will still be reassuring and not to early for heartbeat. Will be next week on Wednesday.

Ttcmumma · 21/08/2023 21:09

@WolfMother326 thank you! No earliest I've ever had is 10+2 but measured bigger 10+5 so never had one this early before. The fact she got image of baby and heartbeat instantly on an abdominal ultrasound helped ease my worry a little, she just needed transvaginal to get proper measurements.

Aww glad little ones feeling better and hope you continue to not have caught it!
Haha yep, way harder. With my first I also still lived at home and my mum did all the cooking and cleaning. I worked, then crashed out and repeat 🤣. Now I'm like 😳 someone let me nap!! I actually pretended to work 2 hours later than I did the other day and left my son at my mum's while I slept 🤦🏼‍♀️ very naughty lol.

Ohh fingers crossed it goes well for you!!

peaky297 · 22/08/2023 13:20

Hey girls! Im currently 6+1 and I’m feeling really anxious today, so hoping for some advice and support. I’ve been anxious generally after a loss, but was set off this morning by a couple of (probably stupid) things.

Firstly I had the beginnings of a dye stealer a few days ago - I had one test left so figured I may as well use it - it didn’t look any different to the one a few days ago. I expected a proper due stealer (photo below).

Adding to that; my RHR on my Fitbit has been up a fair bit since I’ve been pregnant, but now it’s dropping again. Is this a bad sign?

Just desperately need some reassurance. Thanks in advance x

@peaky297 hey fellow 6+1, with you on the worry train there...not done a test in over a week and thought I'd do one this morning. Was clearly sleepy cos I completely missed the strip and it went all streaky so binned. Contemplating doing another but don't want bad news. Got my first appt next week so may just wait...
I'd say those of yours look pretty positive to me xx

XenaTheWarriorPrincess · 22/08/2023 13:45

That very well might be as dark as those tests get @peaky297, especially when you consider that each individual test likely doesn't have the exact same amount of dye in each one.

At 6+ weeks, there probably isn't much value in continuing to test now. A private early scan for reassurance might help though if that's a possibility for you? They're generally not super expensive, one near me is £50. Once I pass 5 weeks, I'll be booking one for when I'm about 7 weeks.

roro87 · 22/08/2023 14:40

@peaky297 just like Xena said maybe you've reached the max for those tests. Mine have completely leveled out over the last 3 days, line as dark as the control line maybe even slightly darker but def not a dye stealer. however I did got from 2-3 to 3+ on clear blue. I think we are in the most horrible period slightly early for scan but past testing.

Albrook · 22/08/2023 15:18

I'd love to join this chat. I got my faint positive two weeks ago so around 8dpo, very early! I have since tested daily as I also have been through two chemical pregnancies in our TTC journey. very nervous but this is looking the most positive i've had in 10 years! (Only been TTC for 18 years, first child is 10 this year)

XenaTheWarriorPrincess · 22/08/2023 15:28

Got my digital confirmation today at 16dpo (did a cheapie 20miu test yesterday that was faint positive, so figured i had enough hcg today to trigger it).

Did it mostly for DP as he's been dubious over the faint lines and there's no denying the words! 😅 I'd be a bit happier if the line was darker, but I know it doesn't really mean anything as I could just have low base hcg or have implanted late. Taking another digital in a week to make sure it rises.

We're being cautiously optimistic for now as it's still super early.

Due date according to ovulation would be 29th April.

@peaky297
I've had a total lack of any symptoms today and have also suffered previous losses. I've tried to keep myself busy and not think about it too much as judging by some of the comments we are all in the same boat and a bit anxious etc. Wishing you well and hoping for all of us that we get to that 12 week point x

@Albrook hey there congratulations that fantastic news 😊 good luck with your pregnancy x

Albrook · 22/08/2023 15:39

@DizzyM43 Thank you! I should be just turning 5 weeks this week. my app puts me slightly ahead at 5+2/3 days but when I've used calculators I they've shown slightly less.

I think I am going to keep testing till 6 weeks+ daily but I also want to book a private reassurance scan. Does anyone know when the best time to do it is?
With my first child I found out at over 6+ weeks and I didn't have any worries at all but it has been a battle to get here and I can't settle after having two chemicals.

XenaTheWarriorPrincess · 22/08/2023 16:04

About 7 or 8 weeks is best imo @Albrook for a private scan, just to account for later ovulation and make sure you're far enough along to be able to see a heartbeat.

I'll be booking mine for about 7 weeks.

Also, it's better to date yourself manually if you know when you ovulated (if you were tracking with lh/bbt) as before a dating scan you're just dated from LMP, which assumes a 28 day cycle with ovulation on day 14.

Count back from today to ovulation day, then add 14 onto that. You'll need to be a minimum of 6 weeks (42 days) for it to show on a scan.

netflixandnochill · 22/08/2023 16:15

@peaky297 Looks very reassuring to me but you can always get HCG strips from Amazon or First Response which are the most sensitive tests if you want extra, extra reassurance.

My plan of action was to have a scan at 8 weeks and harmony at 10 weeks, however, I’m flying to the Netherlands before 8 weeks so will get a scan at 7+ something just to check everything is going ok and is in the right place! Remember you can go to your EPU and ask to be scanned if you’re worried too. If you’re South West London based St George’s Early Pregnancy Unit are pretty good.

This bit is a waiting game but each day that passes is a win and takes us one step closer! In six short(!) weeks, it will be 12 weeks scan time! Hang on in there everyone.

Albrook · 22/08/2023 16:33

@XenaTheWarriorPrincess thank you! that has worked out perfectly. I hope I can get one around the time I go back to work, I work in a school and I don't know how it goes with getting appointments for private scans during school hours but a lot of them don't offer them after school or weekends where I am.
