@Tilly18101 I'm just catching up on this thread. Congratulations on the twins! I'm in the same boat - found out last week we were expecting twins too which was a major shock due to no twins in the family either. Thankfully the news has settled in over at the last week and I'm still nervous/terrified but quite happy lol I'm so tired too but also thought it was because I have a 2 year old. I was 11 weeks yesterday. I'm having dcda twins so they have their own sacs and placentas. I read online that they'll not let me go over 37 weeks so looking now at early/Mid jan but haven't actually spoken to anyone yet about it so not sure if that's true

AllAboardTootToot · 14/07/2023 13:15

@sludgefactory you could have ovulated later than thought or you tracking based on DTD?

We are the same but we were on holiday so pick your time of many 😳 so I have to trust the measurements thus far.

what exercises are people doing? I got married in May and was doing lots of abs stuff and dancing in the run up to it. I’m looking very round in the belly these days and feel like Its obvious I’m pregnant. The Italian honeymoon didn’t help! So much pasta, red wine and tiramisu! I’ve done a few of the Sally pregnancy videos on YouTube. Only three weeks to go until the 12 week scan.

MrsC2711 · 14/07/2023 14:05

Fab news @sludgefactory. I’m kind of in the same boat; should be 7+5 today but had two early scans one private and one nhs a day apart and 1 dated me 4 weeks and the other 5+3! Then nhs dated me 5+3 on Monday with a heartbeat so I’d jumped 10 days in the space of a week so I’m just hoping that my private scan on Sunday where they dated me 5+3 will of increased by 2 weeks growth wise and I’ll just put it down to taking it’s time to ‘fertilise’ 😂 and to get comfy.

@DmcinT ..:: I totally get you with the being asked, I think people should be so careful asking questions as you never actually know what people have gone or are going through do you. I’m quite a private person so if I mc/mmc/ectopic I wouldn’t tell anyone I’d been pregnant and that it had happened. We’ve recently moved house and I keep getting ‘new house new baby’ and I tell everyone we aren’t even trying and it’s not on the cards just to stop them asking.

I have the left twinges, I thought it was my cyst (which is growing at an alarming rate during pregnancy so it seems!) but maybe it’s just the pregnancy aswell.

I just want to wish everyone that’s in my shoes or similar the best of luck because I am one grouchy, hormonal, weepy S.O.A.B at present who just wants everything to be ok, so I feel you ladies…:: but we have no control do we. Sucks being such a control freak lol xx

sludgefactory · 14/07/2023 14:29

@AllAboardTootToot maybe by like a day or two but not a whole week! I had a positive LH test on the day I think I ovulated(4th June), and happened to have an internal ultrasound 2 days after that (6th June), that showed that I had already ovulated by that point so a whole week seems unlikely!

Tilly18101 · 14/07/2023 15:56

@sludgefactory so pleased you saw baby and heartbeat! I was a week behind when they scanned me too, I think it’s such a minefield and actually can take much longer to fertilise and implant than we think sometimes? But such good news.

@DmcinT oh my gosh Identical triplets! I think I’d have had kittens there and then if she’d have told me there was a third heartbeat. That’s so interesting to read being completely random - it totally caught us off guard like you just don’t think it’ll happen to you and when it does it’s like all the wind has been kicked out of you! Yes I’ve another scan in a couple of weeks to properly date me, and do the screening and then I’ll have one at 16weeks and every fortnight after that so I’ve been told with it being one placenta 😩 best get used to our hospital - can’t wait to tell work - they won’t be happy! So sorry you’ve been asked, I’ll never understand people prying into something so personal, we were married 5 years before we had our little one - eventually people stopped asking but it was so annoying in the beginning. I actually got quite rude at one point and replied ‘I don’t ask about your sex life why are you asking about mine?’ That stopped the comments fairly quickly.

I have two pregnancy pillows from my first, a full U shaped one and a smaller half moon one / loved both of them and they really help prop your bump up so you can sleep more comfortably.

Tilly18101 · 14/07/2023 15:59

@permanentlyshattered1 congratulations lovely! Do twins run in the family?

I think ours are MCDA as they share a placenta but she could see a thin membrane between them but I’ve been referred so they can confirm what type they are. It’s so overwhelming.

I think we will be Jan too now, I’ll get my date in a couple of weeks as was too early last week and they said for MCDA it’ll likely be 35-37 week delivery depending on growth which seems so soon!

how are you getting on? Tiredness calmed down? I can’t believe the exhaustion!

C1E · 14/07/2023 16:18

I’m exercising exactly as I was pre-pregnancy. I do CrossFit and Olympic weightlifting about 4x a week. I’m trying to tell myself to only go to about 70% effort now and no longer do double sessions to keep on top of fatigue. It makes me feel great every time.

sludgefactory · 14/07/2023 16:34

@MrsC2711 & @Tilly18101 thank you so much ladies :) it's a total minefield and all very confusing but aware I'm very lucky there was a heartbeat and otherwise all is okay. @MrsC2711 keep us posted on your Sunday scan - hope all goes well for you! Also congrats on your twin news @Tilly18101 - that's so exciting! Double the love ❤

Golaz · 14/07/2023 17:21

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 Oh no , sorry that you are having that stress 🥺. Did you DTD recently or anything ? Could it be that? I’ve had some pinky discharge/ spotting after sex each time so far this pregnancy. I think that’s really common..

SmartiesParty · 14/07/2023 17:54

Has anyone had any bleeding. Over the last three days I've had some giant gushes of blood and also red period like ongoing bleeding. I've spoken to the epu but they said unless it's filling a pad in an hour theres nothing they'll do for now. I'm going to go for a private scan next week and I guess there's nothing I can do now but it's very scary!

moosey89 · 14/07/2023 17:55

Yep I've had pink mucus since last Friday, and red since Wednesday. Given everything else that's gone on with this pregnancy I'm not feeling confident for my scan at EPU Monday :( just want to be out of this state of limbo. Pregnancy after loss sucks.

Axc123 · 14/07/2023 18:11

I need help on how to tell people! I haven’t told a soul, not even the dad. He and I were together for 3 years, then we split. I met a new person and he met a new person and she purposely got pregnant after 6 days of knowing him. They didn’t stay together but he’s very supportive of the child. He and I rekindled and I decided that I would explore us again even with everything. I was on the pill, but I got pregnant. Everyone is going to judge me, tell me I’m stupid. It goes against every womanly instinct in me to of had an abortion, I just cannot do that. I raised/am raising my 10 year old son by myself and now looks like I’m bringing another edition into our unit that I will be on my own with. Feeling very stressed as I’d been waiting as long as I could to tell people so I could tell them with confidence. But now I’m 10 weeks, I feel so anxious. Trying to hide it is awful, I’d love for once to have a child and it be happy joyful news that I can’t wait to tell!

LalalaBubs · 14/07/2023 18:21

When did/does everyone have their booking appointment?
I have no recollection of what we even talk about at them even though my current babies were born Feb 2020 and Nov 2021😅

Mine is on Monday and I'll be 10+3. Will my 12 wk scan get booked shortly after? I'm dying to have a date for the scan! X

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 14/07/2023 18:36

@Golaz oh wow I'm seriously impressed you're having sex while feeling so rough and puking! It's been a while for me, I feel sick tired and not at all in the mood. Poor partner.

I was a bit constipated before and it was then - cleared up now but I've had some mild twinging and cramps.

@moosey89 @SmartiesParty I'm so sorry you've got the stress also. There seems to be a few of us that've had this. Hopefully it's sensitive cervix or something normal. I get the anxiety for the scans though

Ahahaha! I say “every time” but tbh it’s only been three times in 8 weeks , so not like it’s happening a lot 😂😂.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 sorry message sent before I finished.,

Yeh I’ve been feeling as rough as anything but actually the preg hormones have given me a bit of a libido boost 😉😏 compared to the last 18 months of breastfeeding, so I’ve been trying to make the most 😆.

So glad to hear it’s cleared up for you. I bet it was the bowel movement, that happened to me before in my first preg. I know what you mean about the twinges- it stresses me out constantly 😩. Can’t wait to (hopefully) get through these next few weeks and relax a little.
sendinf positive thoughts your way 💕

LavenderSweetPea · 14/07/2023 20:23

@SmartiesParty yes I had a significant bleed on Monday. Similar to a period; red, heavy and had clots. I'm still spotting lightly from it but the epu scanned me on Tuesday and baby was fine. They couldn't find a cause of the bleed though. Get a private scan booked to reassure you if the epu won't, but hopefully all is well. Let us know xx

User0224 · 14/07/2023 20:25

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Had my second scan, baby is still there with a heartbeat, but because there was no availability at the clinic I went to on tuesday I went somewhere else, and the new place doesn’t allow patients to know baby’s heart rate. So all I know is that it’s still beating. Even though the last sonographer said it was beating too slow! So annoying! I understand that they don’t want to stress people but isn’t every detail that gets picked up in a viability scan potentially stressful? Just seems a bit odd given the whole point of these early scans is to work out how viable our pregnancy is.

Anyway rant over 😂 They discovered a large subchorionic hematoma (haemmorage thing right against the sac) which is much larger than the baby itself, so now need to keep tabs on that and avoid any strenuous activities that could trigger heavy bleeds. Fingers crossed it’s gone in a few weeks and doesn’t grow any bigger.

Good luck to everyone else with imminent scans x

LalalaBubs · 14/07/2023 20:54

@User0224
My sonographer noticed a haematoma during my early scan at 6 weeks too, I bled a wee bit at 8 weeks and went in to my EPU for a scan. That sonographer couldnt see any blood floating around so assumed that I had released it.

Had some very light spotting again yday (9w6d) and really trying not to stress because the sonograpger said baby looked absolutely fine and unless it becomes super heavy and painful, to not stress.

Definitely easier said than done eh?!

Prayers every clears up for you soon without too much stress!

Ohh so sorry you’ve got one too! And yes absolutely easier said than done. I’m scared to bloody cough too hard right now 😂

Really hope yours disappears asap too! X

Mangotango39 · 15/07/2023 01:02

@LalalaBubs I keep spotting - a few drops on a tissue about 2/3 times a week (ever since implantation) then the odd weird discharge .

Drs didn't seem worried and it even happened day before my healthy scan. EPU are rescanning me Tuesday though and I'm terrified. Every time I see the blood my mind starts racing!!!!
Some women say it's totally normal, they had it and it was fine but it's just so hard not to overthink.

Cheetocat · 15/07/2023 06:05

Is anyone else insanely restless? I think I already woke up five or six times tonight. I don't have plans until the afternoon so it's not like I'm anticipating an alarm.

Also could not stomach dinner last night, I just had a granola bar and some soya milk before bed, I know that's really bad but I even had to force that snack.

Although it is inconvenient, I'm sort of enjoying these symptoms since I never had anything stand out to me in my previous pregnancy which ended up not sticking.

AllAboardTootToot · 15/07/2023 06:25

Yes @Cheetocat ! It’s almost like I cannot get into a deep sleep at the minute. Must be all the hormones in our body we are not used to.

I have days where I could literally eat and eat and eat and then yesterday, it took me 3 attempts to eat my dinner, just not feeling it.

keep telling myself once body balances out then this too shall pass!

Could live without the night cramps in stomach too!

Isn’t pregnancy the greatest? 😳😂
