@Marmaladebear oh no, hopefully you get home for some rest soon! Fingers crossed it won’t come to anything this week and you’ll get a little bit longer 🤞🏻

airmaxJ · 23/07/2023 23:14

@Marmaladebear hopefully this time you will go faster x

airmaxJ · 23/07/2023 23:17

That's my wee one down to sleep her Moses basket 3 days old now, my boobs are full and really sore but no milk yet, maybe tomorrow. I keep putting her on but think it's delayed because of the c section. Night all enjoy your pregnancies whatever is left and enjoy your wee babies to who has had them hope your night goes smoothly baby wise x

DomesticElf · 24/07/2023 03:18

@Marmaladebear how exciting! At least you are getting plenty of notice the show is about to begin. Good luck!
@airmaxJ with my first, it took about a week for milk to come in after a section. Fingers crossed it's almost there for you.

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 24/07/2023 09:17

Good luck @Marmaladebear I hope you get home for some rest x

Marmaladebear · 24/07/2023 09:28

Thank you everyone, I was allowed to go home last night at about midnight which I was so thankful for. Contractions have really calmed down and I'm really really hoping I can hold on at least until full term which is midnight on Friday night 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Hope all goes well @airmaxJ I had loads of support with bf with my first which I couldn't have done without

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 24/07/2023 10:54

Anybody else still been trying to keep up with exercise.
I am 36+1 today and for the first time I felt like my normal 20/30 min HiiT and dog walk was quite a struggle and not enjoyable (usually I love exercising, especially taking my dogs out).
Not sure if it is time to admit defeat until after baby's arrival - but I am having a c-section so I know it will be quite some time before I can work out again, or to persevere and see how I feel tomorrow x

DomesticElf · 24/07/2023 11:24

@MinnieFirstTimeMum I am impressed you are still doing HIIT at 36 weeks!
Just now I waddled to post office which is 10 mins away. All those 10 mins I felt like the baby was going to fall out of me right there on the pavement. Turns out that branch has closed ages ago. I wanted to cry because I now needed to waddle back with nothing to show for it. And then admit defeat and drive to the one I definitely knew was open.
I am 38+3.

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 24/07/2023 11:27

@DomesticElf I think I would have cried too when I realised it was closed.

I had it in my head I would stop at 38 weeks, but the breathlessness this morning was something else.

If I am still walking the dogs at 38 weeks I will be impressed, so bravo to you for still getting out there and walking.

I hope you manage to find an open branch 🤞🏻🤞🏻

ChloeN · 24/07/2023 11:32

@MinnieFirstTimeMum go you still doing Hiit! I’m still fine walking so I’m going to try and carry on until they arrive, the babies only just engaged though so maybe I won’t be saying that when they’re further down🤣🤣

CityKity · 24/07/2023 11:51

@MinnieFirstTimeMum I’ve admitted defeat! I think I did my last boxing class at about 35 weeks and then got hit with insomnia so prioritised sleep over exercise. Im really missing exercise to be honest and am trying to walk as much as humanly possible but like you @DomesticElf yesterday was one of those days I thought the baby would fall out of me after 10mins 😅.
Ive done a few online yoga classes to tide me over and as the weather is miserable I’ll head to the gym for a walk on the treadmill and some arm weights but nothing too adventurous!
39 weeks tomorrrow! I’m not someone who tracks weight or is concerned with weight gain (especially during pregnancy) but I’m really curious to know how much weight will go straight after birth. I think our bodies are amazing!

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 24/07/2023 12:29

@ChloeN maybe HIIT sounds more impressive than it is. I definitely do not get my heart rate up as much as I did early on 😂😂

@CityKity well done you still get to the gym at 39 weeks. That is so impressive, you have spurred me on to try to carry on for a bit longer though 👏🏻

My fear is also missing the exercise when I stop, I have always used it as a stress relief so god help my DH when I can no longer do anything 😂

LS888 · 24/07/2023 13:47

I’m have been doing a pregnancy yoga class which finished last week when I was 38 weeks. I was quite thankful for it ending but am still doing some of the exercises at home on my birthing ball. I also try to swim once a week but it’s a very slow plod due to heartburn but I do like being in the water. Debating whether to go this week or not.

I have still been walking my dog but this week it is beginning to be more of a struggle. I tend to go to places now where he can be let off the lead so he can still have a proper run but I don’t have to go so far as my pace has reduced dramatically!! My mum has offered to walk him if needed and reminded me that I was almost 39 weeks pregnant and it’s ok to accept help!

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 24/07/2023 14:17

@LS888 I will also be carrying on with dogs walks, I normally do about 6km weekend mornings and then 3km during the week. My village is quite hilly so I also go to places where they can go off lead, albeit I still end up walking around the fields with them 🤦🏻‍♀️

A few people have offered to help walk them, but they were attacked by an off lead dog a couple of years ago so I don't really like them to wave walked without me (even by DH) Not sure anybody else would risk putting their hand in a German Shephards mouth to save them. God knows what I am going to do post c-section.

Glad I am not the only one who is still trying to exercise though, the woman's body is so much stronger than we all realise 💪🏻

LS888 · 24/07/2023 14:28

@MinnieFirstTimeMum I had a bit of an issue getting over a stile a few weeks ago and then I couldn’t stop laughing - made it over eventually and hope I gave anyone watching a good laugh too!! 🤣 so I avoid walks with stiles now. My dog needs a good walk or he just winds me up in the evenings wanting to play and is definitely more restless.

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 24/07/2023 14:30

Haha yes I have experienced the stiles too. I equally avoid them now! I am just too heavy to lift myself over!

The things we have to do whilst pregnant 🤣

LS888 · 24/07/2023 14:54

@MinnieFirstTimeMum I just couldn’t manoeuvre my legs! Couldn’t get the right angle to get my leg over! 🤣 At least I could laugh about it.

Definitely feel like it’s time to start taking it a bit easier though. Meeting some friends this evening who I would normally walk with but have suggested going for a drink instead.

Sorry can’t help but laugh (in support of your waddling) just picturing this 😂🙈

BCxx · 24/07/2023 21:07

I have the same set up with my dog @MinnieFirstTimeMum .. I did look into getting a dog walker a while ago so he had been out with her before baby arrives and she could then do a month/6 weeks after the csection even just 2 or 3 big walks per week but I’m so cautious of letting him go with someone else as he’s nervous of (some) other dogs and only seems to walk past them if I distract him from miles before. He’s not been getting the same walks the last couple of weeks and my husband has been working away so couldn’t even take him at nights 🙄

I actually did manage okay after the csection last time, obviously not the first 2 weeks but if I took it very easy and went to wide open places I wasn’t going to meet another dog (with the baby too) I found it was okay. I used the baby carrier at first because I was too scared to attempt it with the pram but quickly realised he actually walks better beside the pram and it can be used as a bit of a buffer to stop him seeing other dogs😂

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 24/07/2023 21:35

@BCxx it is such a nightmare isn't it. We also thought about a dog Walker but quickly dismissed it 🤦🏻‍♀️

Good to know you were up and about with yours last time after a couple of weeks.

We have a few fields nearby that you can hire so it is just you in the field which I was considering, but obviously I can't for a while. I am sure it will figure itself out x

Rowanandremy · 24/07/2023 22:44

@airmaxJ thats a really positive sign about your boobs (what a weird sentence to type!) mine were horrendously painful yesterday (5 days post birth) and very full and my milk came in properly today. I don’t know how a c section would affect things but I knew once I got to the full and painful bit that it wouldn’t be long so hopefully that’s the same for you.

How is everyone feeling? I’m finding it very odd to be on the other side of things, I keep having to pinch myself (mentally) that he’s here and a week old tomorrow. This time last week I was hooked up to a drip and eagerly waiting for him to be born and now he’s here with floofy hair that looks like sonic the hedgehogs 😂

I’m in awe of everyone still exercising, hats off to you ladies - I gave up swimming at 33 weeks and miss it like mad but couldn’t have carried on, it exhausted me for over a day afterwards. With dd I had to have stitches and was back walking our dog within 2 weeks but my word that was an … Interesting experience when I had to pick up her poo 😂

Marmaladebear · 25/07/2023 12:19

Great that so many people are managing to keep active! I kept doing classes until 37 weeks last time and was planning to have my last pilates class tomorrow when I will be 36+4 but the scare of going into early labour on Sunday has put me off so I've cancelled it. So looks like I made it to 35+4 exercising this time, but think it's what my body needed! Tbh dragging my pregnant body to the class last week was such an effort I only just about managed it. I will miss going to the class though for the huge mental health benefits I got from them!!

Contractions have really calmed down although had a couple big ones last night. Just 3 and a half more days until I'm full term! Literally counting down to midnight on Friday 😂 something tells me this is going to be a slow week...

overwork · 25/07/2023 15:03

Ah @Marmaladebear I think you've well and truly earned yourself a bit of a rest now!

I had a sweep this morning, MW said everything was looking promising, cervix is already a little open and thin and she's hopeful that I'll go naturally before my induction which is booked for Friday. Which would be lovely but I have no signs at all!

RGxo13 · 25/07/2023 16:56

Hey everyone! Hope you’re all doing good.

I went for the growth scan today and the person who scanned us seemed happy. 38 weeks today and weight estimated at 6lb 11oz so you were all right, nothing to worry about :) xx

sommeliermama · 25/07/2023 17:02

I'm so impressed at everyone exercising so late in their pregnancies! I've only been walking recently, some days I have no energy so do next to nothing, other days I can walk for an hour. Managed my one hour walk today as I think baby is dropping down and I'm not so out of breath. Finally! I'm 36+4 today.

@Marmaladebear you're almost there!! You deserve lots of rest, the best thing for you nearing the end
