@Nclktnntt i gave them a ring. She said to put a pad on and see if it happens again. She said they wouldn’t be worried unless it gets heavier or I get cramps too. It’s not happened since so hopefully it stays that way!

smldnlove · 02/07/2023 12:55

@Nclktnntt That is so interesting! Thank you! I won’t be doing that anymore. Been having smoothies in the morning after breakfast and will have them first now. That totally makes sense now you say it. Oh we are quite similar then in terms of stage! Hoping it eases up for you soon, it really is the worst when you can’t eat and function properly. How are you finding it with work/are you in the office?

Nclktnntt · 02/07/2023 14:17

@99SR hopefully thats helped ease your mind a little?

@smldnlove works been fun, I'm a hairdresser and work on my own, so if the nausea starts and I need to eat it's been difficult when I'm mid applying a colour, I've made it through though thankfully. The nausea has eased now though so that's not so bad - it's back ache now - that's horrendous after a few hours standing, I have good posture and sit as much as possible but I'm tall, so bending is part and parcel and I don't feel it till it's too late.

This weeks been tough once I get home but at work I'm fine, I start to feel uncomfortable come the end of my work day but I find it's slowly through the day the bloating gets worse for me.

I've Also cut my hours so I don't work/get home past 7pm too, so I can eat at a normal ish hour and not 9pm like I used too. I think I might even have to cut them another hour earlier.

How have you found work/office?

gurlwhaat · 02/07/2023 18:09

Hi hoping I can join this group! I’m due 29th December so currently 14+2 (though planning on a c section). Just got the test results back for downs, edwards etc. and all seems fine so I guess it’s time to face reality that this is actually happening! Is anyone else struggling with eating? Literally all I want is bread, crackers and pasta. I’m forcing myself to eat fruit and veg but some days I can’t even manage that and feel very guilty!

ThomasinaLivesHere · 02/07/2023 18:14

@gurlwhaat Welcome! You’re really similar to me. I’m also due 29th December and planning on a c-section. I had an emergency one last time so going for an elective one. I’ve been trying to work out when the likely date of the section will be given weekends and Christmas holidays. I’ve also had moments of eating badly although I’m also trying to make an effort.

wannabemum38 · 02/07/2023 19:34

I think I felt little bean last night though not sure if I imagined. I was laying down on sofa watching TV and then I got some odd bubbles feeling under the bump.felt a bit like gas but it wasn't. I'm 17+2 so I think it's normal but guess we will see if it happens again. They have been resting on my bladder all day today been to wee so much although have drunk a lot more today aswell but they need to move!

@wannabemum38 exciting! I’ve been feeling bubbles for a couple of weeks now, which I was surprised at with it being my first but this morning I felt a little tap🥹 not sure if it was a kick but exciting none the less!

RG84 · 02/07/2023 21:13

@99SR hope you are doing okay and resting up. All will be okay.

I have my 16 week appointment tomorrow. Any questions I should be asking the midwife and neededing to know for tomorrow's appointment?

Itonlytakesaminute · 02/07/2023 22:07

@wannabemum38 I'm 17 weeks and feeling movement , like little worms moving around - I thought I was Imagining it for a while!

Beans1982 · 02/07/2023 23:01

@gurlwhaat and @ThomasinaLivesHere I'm also due on the 29th December 14 weeks +2 but still waiting for midwife appt on 10 July for test results. Glad to hear yours came back all good @gurlwhaat.

This is my first, no mention of a c-section for me (at the moment anyway).

Yes! I've been feeling bad about not eating as healthy these last couple of weeks and definetly not eating as much fruit and veg as I should - it's a struggle.
I still have some nausea (especially if I go for 2 or more hours without eating) and the heartburn is more prominent.
Also, really vivid and random dreams every night, anyone else getting this?

SMG1992 · 03/07/2023 08:11

So exciting to hear people are feeling movements!
I'm 17 weeks on Wednesday so really hope I can start to feel them soon, I had a scan last week and they were wriggling around in there so only a matter of time!

@Nclktnntt Yes definitely good to cut your hours so you can get home earlier for dinner, have found that the later I eat the worse I feel generally. Still for some reason seem to be eating at 9:30pm like last night though, bad habits!!! The backache doesn't sound good!! Would definitely tell the mid-wife and see what they recommend as may only get worse as bump gets bigger.

Work has generally been okay, I'm only in the office once a week, just finding my motivation is now at an all-time low - in my head I've just signed off a bit (5 months to go so not ideal LOL). But I have quite a stressful job so think part of it is just trying to not get in too deep. Definitely feeling the tiredness which doesn't help!

17caterpillars1mouse · 03/07/2023 10:33

I'm 18+5 now and have been feeling movement for the past week or so which is great as my placenta is at the front and last time it was I didn't feel movement till much later. I like the daily reassurance he is still there :)

This is the most worrying time for me as we've previously lost a baby at 19 weeks, but trying to stay calm. My 20 week scan is a week on Wednesday and am anxious about that as I know a few people who have received bad news at the scan. Hopefully I'll be able to stop panicking once that is out of the way.

This is the first pregnancy I have found out the sex and I'm surprised at just how much knowing has helped me bond at this early stage.

RG84 · 03/07/2023 11:07

Offically 16 weeks today!

Had my 16 week appointment this morning, usual tests however they still found sugar in the urine so they have started me on medication 😭 (diabetic) midwife didn't openly say they listen to the hb but she said if I want it done to note they can't always hear it at 16 weeks. I'm such a nervous person but I asked for her to do it anyway. After a minute or so, prodding the belly she found it. Relief 🥰

Hope everyone is doing okay.

I didn’t realise my boobs had got bigger until I popped out of a button up dress the other day. It’s not fair, they were already huge before pregnancy ☹️. Stretchy dresses and leggings are my best friends at the moment.

Hi @bookbathnap

I feel the same! I just can't wear trousers already. Leggings and dresses only. I don't want to buy lots of maternity stuff either so have been looking on Vinted instead and ordered a couple of bits

RG84 · 03/07/2023 14:28

Those of you who also suffer from headaches, the midwife said Aspirin causes headaches so not sure if you've been advised to take them but I have to take them from 12 weeks until 32 weeks I think. But yeah that's once of the causes

wannabemum38 · 03/07/2023 20:06

Feeling bit low today. The usual happiness I get from scans and hearing heartbeat has worn off as always and after feeling a possible flutter a few days nothing since so now the anxiety kicks in. Noone understands the anxiety of it all apart from you lot just keep telling me to stop worrying and enjoy pregnancy etc but it's so hard

99SR · 03/07/2023 20:10

@wannabemum38 i hear ya! It’s unbearable isn’t it. I was supposed to have my gender scan next week but I’ve moved it to tonight to give me some reassurance after recent pains!
it’s so hard to enjoy something that seems so far away still doesn’t it. Hope you’re ok!

ai38 · 03/07/2023 20:44

I hadn't checked the thread for a while. I think the last time I posted we were on thread 3. So much has happened since. So happy to read that some of you have already started feeling movement.

I am 16+3 now. I did private NIPT at week 11 which came back low results and also we found out that we are expecting a little girl. Then, at week 14, I had my first consultant/registrar appointment and they already booked me for C-section! So we now have been booked for 11th of December for C-section if everything according to plan. It feels surreal. I am still anxious about the 20th week scan which is at the end of July. We have only shared the news with our parents and siblings and I don't think I'd want to tell anybody else before the upcoming scan. Luckily, my bump is not that big yet and so far wearing summer dresses have helped me get away with it. We'll see how far I can go like this before someone notices :)

RG84 · 03/07/2023 21:24

@wannabemum38 sorry you are feeling this way. 100% know the anxiety. I've mentioned before previous to this pregnancy I had a mc so everyday is a constant "is everything okay" I guess we will all feel like this until babies have arrived safely at the right time.
If you are able too, maybe a private scan is the way just for the reassurance. I have booked one for next Sunday. I'm 16 weeks today.

@ai38 congratulations on little girl :) hope you are doing okay. I didn't realise they can book a c section this far ahead. Good to know for next appointment.

Nclktnntt · 03/07/2023 21:48

@smldnlove ohhhh I can't pass 8/8:15 now, i was guaranteed to be sick even if I'd snacked but now the boating's too bad I'm seriously struggling to eat past that point. We used to eat around 9:30/10 though, I'd already started to try eating earlier as I hate going to bed full, so tbf that's been a positive side effect of a negative symptom for me lol.

Hopefully your motivation at work comes back a tiny bit, they might notice if you switch off 5 months early 😉 totally don't be allowing the stress in though - pass that to someone else if you can. Probably is why you've disconnected a little though - and the first trimester exhaustion, there's not a lot of space left in us for serious thinking those first few months.

Nclktnntt · 03/07/2023 22:05

@wannabemum38 me and one of my clients (also pregnant) had this very conversation this weekend, I'm pregnant with my first and I've never realised how scary being pregnant actually is. When my sickness really slowed down but seemingly all of a sudden, the anxiety and thoughts started creeping in because I felt less pregnant. My client said the same and was in tears to her midwife who found the heart beat for her.

Before experiencing that fear that lingers in the back of your mind, I would have been someone saying, try not to worry etc. although yes it's true, try not too. That's much easier said than done! I just want someone to acknowledge that it is scary, not try to make me feel better. I'm feeling much better after my first scan but the next one is so far away!

I hope your ok and the anxiety isn't too bad.

Flowers90 · 04/07/2023 08:35

@wannabemum38 I'm really low at the moment too..just feel like everything is getting to me. Been very tearful the last few days. Feel like work is probably a huge contributing factor to this after a.very stressful weekend working. I'm termtime only so only have a few weeks left but don't even feel that's manageable at the moment.

bookbathnap · 04/07/2023 13:19

I’ve been feeling really tearful these last couple of days too. I know it’s ‘just’ hormones but it feels so real at the time. Little things seem huge.

SMG1992 · 04/07/2023 14:18

Same here for hormones having a bit of a go at the moment.
I found myself crying a few times at the weekend over things that wouldn't usually bring me to tears.
I think our hormones should have calmed down a bit, but I wonder if it's just the change in them.
I have my 16 week midwife appointment tomorrow, I'll be 17 weeks and am really hoping she listens to the heartbeat. I really love seeing and hearing him on scans, I can't wait to start feeling him moving although I know I'll probably cry at that too!
