@RG84 headaches are very common in pregnancy... I have one every other day at the moment. Just use the paracetamol and 4head, they are perfectly safe, no reason to suffer. Also go back to your GP if the antibiotics haven't helped your cough, no need for a&e. I think it's pretty common for coughs to hang around. I had one for 3 months in the autumn.

SMG1992 · 30/06/2023 13:33

I've definitely had a cough/cold hanging around for longer than it usually would I guess it's jut another way our bodies are telling us to take it easy as there is a lot going on in there

Clucket87 · 30/06/2023 14:46

So had scan number 2 today and they have confirmed I'm 13 weeks, giving me a due date of the 5th Jan.
However I'm going to be induced and it looks like that will be the 22nd December, so I'm staying out in this group.
Baby was very wiggly and has definitely found my bladder to sit on.
I'm really uncomfortable at the moment and am ready for this baby to move up.
Still being sick and have been given a plethora of medication to take but so pleased everything is okay.
They couldn't take the measurements in the scan as baby was looking over its shoulder so I'm back for a blood test in 2 weeks.
Rock and roll ladies! Xx

wannabemum38 · 30/06/2023 15:02

@Clucket87 Glad scan went well for you :)

I'm 17 weeks today can't believe I've got this far still seems mad. Next scan is 3 weeks today but trying not to think about it too much and enjoy the wedding stuff happening including my hen do next weekend!
Got letters through today for my diabetes blood test and my 32 week consultant appointment! Mental seems so far away. Also discussed when I'm.leaving for my maternity leave with work which makes it all seem so real.
Hope you are all well and feeling good ladies x

Not sure if anyone can relate or I'm just being an emotional mess but this baby will be my second and I just can't stop feeling incredibly guilty for my first. Sometimes I'll look at him and just have a huge wobble. It's not like I'm not happy at all because I am but the guilt is actually awful!

Nclktnntt · 30/06/2023 21:10

Anyone else struggle to eat their evening meal in / from week 14? It takes me about an hour to eat it without throwing it back up - I think it's space but I'm very surprised if it is.

Bloating isn't helping, I'm not having anything fizzy, sipping water and eating slow to avoid taking in excess air but nothings working 😢

This happening to anyone else? Does it get better? Please tell me it gets better 😊

smldnlove · 01/07/2023 10:37

@Nclktnntt Yes!! Since about week 6 my evening meal has been the biggest challenge. I’d say from week 12 my nausea has calmed massively and I feel OK generally but still the evenings are pretty awful where food is concerned!

It’s so odd, cannot think why at all but interesting to hear you have the same! Bloating is also a nightmare and I look about 7 months pregnant most of the time after eating. Maybe TMI but are you constipated be any chance?

Nclktnntt · 01/07/2023 13:38

@smldnlove I'm so glad I'm not alone! My eatings changed altogether since around the same time, I can't eat too much in one sitting or quickly - I used to basically hoover my food, of an evening especially 😂 my husband would barely start and I'd finished! but it's little and often now, I split my lunch into 2 and have a 2/3rds of an evening meal rather than a full one, but I have to make sure each mouthful has gone down and will stay there in the evening. I'm not normally sick in the evening unless I've eaten too much or too quickly, but this week I'm finding it especially difficult to eat and like I say, it's taking me 30-60mins. Last night I gave up at 45 mins and had eaten half. My husband finished it an hour later when I still didn't want it 😂

Constipation luckily is not something I've been contending with, not properly anyway - it might be starting maybe this week, as going isn't as easy as it used to be, but still regular (daily at least) so can't complain really.

I think as I get more and more bloated through the day, that what makes eating in the evening so hard - I just feel sick but full and hungry all at the same time 🤯.

What week are you just now? I take it you're experiencing constipation 😢?

With bloating to release gas - yoga breathing is amazing, harder if you can't lie on your back now, but when you breath in relax all your muscles and allow your lungs to fill and your tummy to rise, then as you breathe out allow your lungs to empty then slowly contract your muscles to fully empty your lungs. Also works as a relaxation technique. But always gets my gas moving around and out 🙃

wannabemum38 · 01/07/2023 15:13

I was given lactulose to help.with my constipation but it's eased off a lot now but my bump was mostly bloat I think hasn't really got any bigger.
Felt a bit light headed coming back home from lunch today it happens sometimes I think it's normal my BP is normal so can't be that.

Nclktnntt · 01/07/2023 16:21

@wannabemum38 Could be your sugar levels maybe? I sometimes get stars (those twinkly things) if I stand up too quickly, I've even momentarily lost my sight too (it fades to black then back again) if I get up too quickly.

Are you drinking enough too?

RG84 · 01/07/2023 18:16

I've lost my appetite completely but I eat as I have too. I literally cannot taste the food I am eating, I have a metal taste in my mouth. Its gross and I just hate eating as I don't enjoy it and I'm a foodie. I didn't have this in my first pregnancy. Overall just still feeling bla with these dam headaches. Indoors I'm okay well so so but as soon as I walk out the door I feel awful. This week I have been on leave as it was my daughters birthday so everyday we have been out. We are also moving so been shopping looking for furniture and what not so it's just been a drag. I haven't physically been sick but feeling soooo nauseous.

Nclktnntt · 01/07/2023 18:38

@RG84 ughh that must be horrible! I've not been enjoying my food as much due to nausea and basically feel like I look like I'm trying to poison myself but I can at least taste my food. I'm a foodie too, and I'll really struggle with that, will it go away? I hope it does for you. I woke with a headache this morning, nothing too bad but not great, I don't normally get headaches (can't remember when I had my last one) I hope they don't start. Fingers crossed you feel much better soon 🤞

Moriquendi · 01/07/2023 18:58

@Flower35214 Yes, I’ve got the guilt too! My son is 16 months, will be 21 months when baby no. 2 arrives. He is very clingy and loving and still breastfeeding! I feel guilty that my milk will change/ supply will drop before he is ready. It helps that he really loves his Daddy though, really only has a preference for me at bed time, the rest of the time he prefers his father. I’m hoping he will adjust ok 🤞😩.

How old is your child?

Flower35214 · 01/07/2023 19:58

@Moriquendi he is 2 and 2 months so will be a bit older than your lad when baby arrives but the guilt is eating me up! I know that he'll adapt and to be honest we'll probably look back thinking why an earth were we worried! It's nice to know I'm not on my own but also not nice to know other people are feeling like this! I'm sure it'll get better x

wannabemum38 · 01/07/2023 21:23

@Nclktnntt I am bad at drinking enough only had a glass of apple juice up until then really.
I don't get it often and usually when I'm alone just hope it's not my anxiety coming back I suffered with that for years and stopped going out by myself. As I work from home alot now I don't go out enough alone really.

Nclktnntt · 01/07/2023 21:39

@wannabemum38 definitely try drinking more. I have to have a bottle with me all day or I forget. I brought a mettle litre bottle (I don't like plastic ones - many reasons) and just keep refilling it and take it everywhere with me, surprising how much you drink when you have it.

I hope it's not your anxiety coming back 😢

wannabemum38 · 01/07/2023 21:45

@Nclktnntt stupid thing is I always have a bottle of water I refill from home with me it's like a crutch I always had with my panic attacks so I've no excuse. I do need to drink more that is for sure. I'm off to meet a friend for coffee tomorrow alone 30 min train ride there and back so that will be a good test for me. I just need to not overthìnk things and force myself to go out at lunchtime which my DP told me me to do!

Hi, I've just joined. I'm due Dec 2023 too and am awaiting my NIPT results. I'm glad yours came back low risk and congrats on your little boy news :)

Nclktnntt · 01/07/2023 22:25

@wannabemum38 ahhhh - yea, you need to set a timer on your phone to remind you to drink maybe? I hope tomorrows train journey goes well for you 😊

Nclktnntt · 01/07/2023 22:26

@Shanni686 welcome 🤗

smldnlove · 01/07/2023 22:45

@Nclktnntt I’m 15 weeks exactly, how about you? I feel like mine has been definitely as bad as yours and has eased so hopefully yours will ease soon. Lucky you haven’t had much constipation, the bloating is really the worst! I’ve found drinking a lot of water has been a saviour really, seems to be the cure for most things! Have you been like this the whole way through?

Thanks for the tips too ☺️ am going to the gym throughout the week still and finding I feel a lot better on those days. Fingers crossed we both are out the other side soon!

99SR · 02/07/2023 10:21

Hey everyone! Hope all is well.
I need advice.. last night when I was out I went to the toilet and when I wiped there was a tiny bit of pink on the toilet roll. There hasn’t been any since and I’m not in pain or anything. What should I do? Should I phone the hospital or see if it happens again? I was already anxious (many of you know lol) now I’m even worse!! Im 16+1.

Nclktnntt · 02/07/2023 11:29

@99SR For your our mind, I would call triage, just speak with them and see what they say.

@smldnlove I'll be 15 weeks on Wednesday, I'm rubbish at the +days 😂 my eating slowed down pretty early on and needed more snacks through the day, eating too much in one sitting would have it coming back - which is why I think it's a space issue in my stomach just now esp when I'm bloated. By the evening it feels like trapped wind 😭 I drink loads - annoyingly I don't actually like water but I also don't like any other drink just now either, so water it is! I also think it might be because I'm having to eat more through the day so I don't actually need as much come the evening time maybe 🤷‍♀️ but I'm definitely hungry.

It's just annoying as I'm hungry and feel I can't eat. hopefully we get to eat like normal again soon enough lol finger crossed.

Nclktnntt · 02/07/2023 11:31

@smldnlove oh also just in case you do this - having fruit right after food esp meats will create a lot of gas in your body, so make sure you're spacing them out between meals. I learnt that years ago - my husbands family always have their food then the fruit bowl goes round the table and everytime I'd have a food baby and be all bloated. MIL went to the docs recently and was told off for that because of how our digestion works - hasn't stopped them though 😂
