@RG84 I've been going between two different hospitals as my trust actually has 3 hospitals (1 is really close, 1 is a bit further away). I had absolutely no issues with either hospital transferring my information to and fro so you'll be fine ☺️

I'm thinking of moving everything to my birthing hospital though if I can, as the closer hospital made a silly error on my anomaly report which caused a lot of unnecessary anxiety when I realised!

RG84 · 12/08/2023 11:59

@Charlielechat Thanks for your message. My old vs new hospital are 2 different trusts and in 2 completely different areas. They seemed nice enough on the phone so fingers crossed all will be fine. Thanks for the reassurance :)
My old hospital also made some errors which made me nervous. Makes sense though to have it at your birthing hospital.

My biggest fear is going into labour before my c-section date :/

Moriquendi · 12/08/2023 15:41

@RG84 I’m in the process of moving house so going to have to do this at some point. Currently still registered at the old hospital, and have my glucose tolerance test and 28 week appointment booked for the beginning of September but think after that I might have to move my care to the hospital nearest the new house.

Not looking forward to it, especially as I’ll be moving between NHS England and NHS Wales who do not talk to each other at all. No idea what will happen to my notes… I can see it all getting lost in the transfer as they have completely different systems.

RG84 · 12/08/2023 16:47

@Moriquendi oh that's annoying. Do you currently have physical maternity folder from NHS or is it an online portal? Ideal if it was a folder as you can just hand over the notes to your new hospital. My new hospital don't give out a physical folders so everything is online :/

HappyPie82 · 13/08/2023 08:59

22 weeks today and still can’t say I’ve got definitive movements. I get bubbly feeling but that could be my guts.
I have an anterior placenta and I know that could be masking it but I’ve also still got a very small bump. When ever people ask how pregnant and I saw 20+weeks they look shocked. I was a bigger girl to start with and lost over a stone due to morning sickness but I’m starting ti get very anxious that something is wrong, or is it just other peoples perceptions of pregnant women’s bodies that is skewed?
The midwife notes say to call it no movements by 24w but so they mean kicks or just the bubbly feeling? Baby was kicking away at 18w and 20w scans but I couldn’t feel that at all so I’m just living in this permanent state of anxiety around baby.

Flowersandfloral · 13/08/2023 13:28

@HappyPie82 I'm 22+4 and definitely some days I don't feel movement with my anterior placenta, it's only been the last week I would say I'm getting definite movements more regularly. If you saw baby kicking away happily on scans and couldn't feel anything but you can feel bubbles, I'd be happy still with bubbles as it's still a feeling :)

With bump I'm a bit of bigger girl as well - my comments from people range from them saying you're hardly showing to wow you're massive. So it's definitely others perspective. Just concentrate on how you feel and see positive bump.

Nclktnntt · 13/08/2023 16:56

@HappyPie82 other peoples perceptions 100% - plus I bet if we all shared our bumps - there's be a wide range from barely being able to tell to definitely has a bump. Plus most people don't remember how big the friend or colleagues bump was at each stage just what it was at the end, which we're nowhere near that point yet.

As for feelings, I thought with anterior placenta that it meant you might not feel them properly until later in the pregnancy because they kick your placenta rather than you? If they were moving around happily on your 20 weeks and the midwife's not concerned I'd try to take comfort in that myself. I have a feeling my placenta might be on the right to the front because I never suspect I feel baby that side, it's always the left but very rare. I'm pretty certain I felt them last last at 20+4 but nothing today yet.

RG84 · 13/08/2023 17:41

People always have a comment to make that's why I haven't told anyone about my pregnancy other than my work because you have too.
Every pregnancy and every woman is different..just ignore the comments, i know easier said than done.

Regarding the kicking, this is my 3rd pregnancy (2nd pregnany was a MC) but on my first and current pregnancy, I had an anterior placenta so i only properly started feeling kicks after 23 weeks, maybe even after that actually.
With this pregnancy, I'm feeling waves but no obvious movements.
I hope that gives a little bit of reassurance.

HappyPie82 · 13/08/2023 18:37

Thanks for the reassurance ladies.

Trying to not panic to much and remember everyone’s pregnancy is so different. Pregnancy after loss is so hard 😞

Nclktnntt · 14/08/2023 11:20

Anyone else got their scan today? Good luck! How are you feeling? I have mine later this afternoon, I'm really excited and also slightly nervous - I hope they're all ok. I'm sure they are.

NoodleQueen90 · 14/08/2023 11:38

I had my 22wk midwife appointment this morning and got to hear the heartbeat for the first time 😁was also supposed to get whooping cough vaccine but they had run out so will get it next time.
Hope scans today go well 😊

Beans1982 · 14/08/2023 12:44

@Nclktnntt Good luck for your scan this afternoon, hope it all goes well!

@NoodleQueen90 So pleased you got to hear your baby's heartbeat, it's such a special moment I feel🙂

I need to book i nfor my whooping cough injection, is everyone getting the flu jab as well? I'm in two minds whether to get it or not

Mushroo · 14/08/2023 12:54

@Beans1982 why are you in two minds? I’m planning to get all the recommended jabs.

My parents have been getting the flu jab for years and never had any problems (and never caught the flu!)

SMG1992 · 14/08/2023 13:17

I'm not sure if I'm going to get the flu jab - the baby should be here before flu season starts so I'm not sure it's necessary.

Has anyone else been hit with the "baby brain" I thought it was a myth but my head has gone! I have a high pressure job so I think I'm using all of my brain cells for work and then otherwise it's just mush. I managed to leave off the hand break on my car when parking and it rolled into the house and damaged the bumper!! Very annoying, especially as I want to part exchange for a new mum car so that's just extra expense that I don't need! 😅

Oldermum84 · 14/08/2023 13:21

Will definitely get the flu jab. I usually have it due to my asthma.
@SMG1992 I've had flu twice as an adult (before I started getting the flu jab regularly) and both were in September!

Oldermum84 · 14/08/2023 13:48

By the way I know it's weird to remember I got flu in two Septembers but one was just after starting uni and one was just after I met my now husband (he looked after me really well which was one of the reasons I fell for him 🤣)

Oldermum84 · 14/08/2023 13:50

And you don't want to get flu when you have a newborn - it completely wiped you out, would be awful. I caught norovirus in hospital having my DS. Symptoms started as I walked in the door coming home with him. That was bad enough!

Moriquendi · 14/08/2023 13:57

I’m getting the flu vaccine, I get it every winter as I have asthma and never had any problems, or caught flu!

Moriquendi · 14/08/2023 14:00

@RG84 I do have a physical folder luckily, which has some of my notes in, but most of it is online, including all the notes from my last pregnancy. I ended up having a failed induction leading to EMCS so would prefer them to have access to that info so the same thing doesn’t happen again/ they try to push me down the induction route.

HappyPie82 · 14/08/2023 14:26

I'm 100% getting the Flu jab this year, I had the flu end of nov last year and I was basically bed bound for 2 weeks and then had bronchitis until mid Feb this year. There is no way i'd have been in a fit state to push out a baby or care for one in that condition.

Beans1982 · 14/08/2023 15:29

@Mushroo I am leaning more to the side of getting the flu jab (and very likely will get it) my only hesitation was feeling rubbish after getting the vaccine, I've not needed to take it before and I really hate needles (I had a really bad experience at hospital ahead of an operation when I was younger which has affected me ever since).
Appreciate everyone's views on this, thanks ladies it's good to hear you've not caught flu or felt rubbish after receiving the vaccine.

and @Oldermum84 I can only imagine the nightmare of experiencing norovirus with a newborn - I caught it last May (a few months before my wedding) and it was horrific, knocked me out for several weeks and I couldn't drink or eat anything properly until about 6 weeks afterwards.

smldnlove · 14/08/2023 18:45

People who are experiencing round ligament pain…what does it feel like to you?

I am getting so many aches and pains and just really unsure what they all are! What does that feel like to those getting it?

I am also planning to get all jabs ideally! And need to schedule them in at my next appt x

RG84 · 14/08/2023 19:19

Round ligament pains for me are painful pulling, sharp pains...not sure how to explain it...almost like contractions but not as painful of course.
I get a lot of hip pain when I am sleeping on my sides and when I sit down for too long, I get pelvic pains when walking so I defiantly need to do some pelvic exercises.
22 weeks today!

VillageFete · 14/08/2023 19:38

@smldnlove Assuming mine is round ligament pain then it’s a horrible stabby/burning sensation just on one side of my stomach. It’s slightly below my belly button to the left, a few inches away from belly button. I’ve had it on and off since I was about 16 weeks from memory. It’s kicking off now and it’s awful!

Yes to whooping cough vax, no to flu jab. I’m not comfortable with whooping cough vax either as I hate the thought of inflammation in my body post vaccine when pregnant, but obviously hate the thought of my little one catching whooping cough far, far more.

I’ve been unwell for the last week, my chest has been terrible, so until i’m feeling 100% I won’t schedule anything. I don’t think having the jab with a low immune system is a good idea, but know it needs doing by 32 weeks.

Nclktnntt · 14/08/2023 20:53

Heya everyone, scan went well. They were happy with everything and all on track so all good. They asked if I needed the toilet because baby was tucked up with their feet on my bladder 😂😂 I didn't need it lol.

Had whooping cough today too, totally fine, no issues after, arms also ok. I sleep on that arm though so I'll update you tomorrow on that one.

Yes to the flu vaccine for me. I don't want the flu when you can take anything for it I definitely don't want it when I cant take anything for it let alone the idea of having it with a newborn! So it's a definite yes from me on that one too. Id have a covid one if they offer them too. I didn't get sick after having it last year either - if anyone gets sick after having it, it's actually a bad coincidence and you were already poorly before hand but not yet showing symptoms.
