@Lavender2020 Welcome!

On stretch marks, they’re so strange for me. I had a large bump last time and didn’t get any on the bump but I got loads on my thighs really early on when I don’t think I’d changed much.

I got maternity bras from John lewis which are good. I have been wearing them for 2 years and only last month stopped breast feeding my son although I just realised now that I’m still wearing the maternity bras when I don’t need to be 😂.

Thought it was just me, but I defo wore maternity bras for way longer than I needed to between pregnancies 😂 Last pregnancy was in lockdown and I remember it being really difficult to find any maternity clothes online in the right size (probably due to such high demand). Must agree with previous posts about maternity ranges not being sold in store- it does seem like most of it is online now.
I've been using Boohoo for maternity clothes (just leggings and T-shirts, everyday things) so might be worth looking on there for anyone struggling.

Tiredness has come back with a vengeance the last week. I was just starting to feel more energetic in the 2nd trimester but now I'm almost back to 1st trimester tiredness.
Anyone have any idea if I'm likely to get an energy boost again or if this is it now?

bookbathnap · 01/08/2023 12:22

@SMG1992 not sure whether you can expect an energy boost but I’m right there with you on the tiredness. Let’s hope🤞. Also the sickness returned today too yay.

RG84 · 01/08/2023 12:46

Yesss to tiredness but I also have a 3 year old as well so that's double the tiredness.

Just me or if anyone sits down for too long and gets up to walk, you can a pain on the pubic bone?

FirstMondayInMay · 01/08/2023 12:50

@SMG1992 im with you on the tiredness too! I’ve had to start having a nap in the afternoons again, which I haven’t done since about 8/9 weeks. Praying for an energy boost, I need to move house in a few weeks😩

RG84 · 01/08/2023 13:16

@FirstMondayInMay I completely understand. We are moving house on Saturday! Have we packed? Nope 😨😭

HappyPie82 · 01/08/2023 13:28

20w scan went really well. The sonographer was lovely and really explain what we were seeing.
2.5hr wait to see the consultant was a lot less enjoyable for him to ask why I was there 🤷‍♀️ I don’t know because the midwife booked you! Oh well!!

sonographer confirmed they’re a baby girl so I can start shopping haha

RG84 · 01/08/2023 13:43

@HappyPie82 congratulations on girls 💗 glad everything went well :)

How did the consultant appointment go? Is that regarding c section?

Clucket87 · 01/08/2023 13:47

I ordered my maternity bras from Asda. They were fab.
Now I'm in some non wired bras from Amazon as don't need maternity bras yet but couldn't be dealing with an underwire. They cost me £20 for the 3 and they are super comfy and not one person has noticed I don't have an underwire. (Except for me who thinks at 40f an underwire is needed!)

@HappyPie82 congratulations on girls 💗 glad everything went well :)

I'm consultant led as I have post-prandial hypoglycemia and they're not quite sure how to deal with it so need to be seen by a diabetes/endocrinology team.
I'm very much hopefully for a vaginal birth unless medically necessary to have a c-section.
My friend who is a week behind me is hoping for elective c-section and is booked to see a consultant around 30w

Lavender2020 · 01/08/2023 13:50

@HappyPie82 lovely news and congrats on your baby girl 💗
I have my 20wk scan next week and am very nervous.

HappyPie82 · 01/08/2023 13:51

Lavender2020 · 01/08/2023 13:50

@HappyPie82 lovely news and congrats on your baby girl 💗
I have my 20wk scan next week and am very nervous.

I was so so nervous even though I saw bean two weeks ago because I have an anterior placenta and haven't got discernable movements yet.
Keep holding on, you'll be seeing little bean jumping around and it'll be magical. Ask the sonographer lots of questions!

Lavender2020 · 01/08/2023 13:55

@HappyPie82 Pregnancy is such a worrying time isn't it. I'm the same- even if I've seen the baby, a week later I'd be worried again haha

Do you have a shopping trip planned now? ☺️💞

Aww thanks so much, I will keep you posted. And will ask all the questions... I'm sure all the healthcare professionals I see are sick of me asking too much. I'm that annoying patient 😂

Lavender2020 · 01/08/2023 13:56

@HappyPie82 forgot to say I've also rang triage many times worried that I'm not feeling movement consistently/everyday and at 18 weeks they're reassuring me it's normal at this stage, but can't stop worrying!

SMG1992 · 01/08/2023 14:33

@bookbathnap I had a bit of nausea the last couple of days too, nowhere near as bad as the early days but very noticeable if I'm hungry (which is a lot of the time)!
Congrats to everyone else having 20 week scans at the moment and all the best to those waiting.
I was so nervous before mine but am feeling so relieved and relaxed now.
I really feel like I can start enjoying this pregnancy :)

RG84 · 01/08/2023 14:39

@HappyPie82 ah I see, hope everything goes well and smoothly and you get answers. I'm also under the care of diabetes midwives and i have my first consultant appointment at 24 weeks on the 30th August so I hope to discuss having a c section. With my previous pregnancy I had pre-eclampsia and had an emergency c section...and having diabetes and being a ceoliac, im hoping they also suggest a c section as that is my preference.

wannabemum38 · 01/08/2023 14:55

I second the tiredness can't stop napping at the moment.
Congratulations on scan and baby girl @HappyPie82

Congrats to those who had their scans! 😊 Got my whooping cough vaccine today. Another box ticked!

Mushroo · 01/08/2023 17:30

@Charlielechat how was it? Mines booked for Friday. Dreading the achey arm, I dislike injections a lot more than blood tests for some
reason!

RG84 · 01/08/2023 17:36

@Mushroo the whooping cough actually doesn't hurt when I had mine in first pregnancy however yesterday I moved and it really stung after. I also hate needles but advice, don't move as it will be a lot worse

RG84 · 01/08/2023 17:37

@Mushroo I mean it also stung whilst being injected as moved. So don't move :)

Mushroo · 01/08/2023 17:43

@RG84 thanks! I’ll do my best 😬

Charlielechat · 01/08/2023 18:20

@Mushroo yeah it was absolutely fine! Stung for a few seconds but nothing bad. I normally get the flu jab every year so think I'm used to it. Arm isn't sore atm but might be tomorrow!
