@Charlielechat im still sleeping mostly on my back, I just can’t get comfy on my side. The midwife told me at my 16 week appt not to worry about it too much, especially before 27/28 weeks, because you’d more than likely wake up short of breath or in pain before anything was to happen to the baby!

wannabemum38 · 11/07/2023 13:31

Hi all hope you are okay. Just recovering from my hen weekend so tired and back to work today.
Bump has popped definitely now no real movements from me either but its my first and 18 weeks so early days I guess. Does like to sit on my bladder in evening though.
Anxiety I get just make sure you talk to someone and don't bottle it up I'm rubbish at that. 20 week scan next Friday can't believe it will be halfway god willing. How fast is it going?!

@wannabemum38 my scan is next Friday too! I can remember a couple of weeks ago complaining that it was so far away, but now, it's just around the corner! Exciting that next Thursday I'll be 20 weeks and halfway through!

RG84 · 11/07/2023 16:58

I had my gender/reassurance scan on Sunday. Initially we wanted to find out but my partner had a last minute change so had them write it down 🤦🏾‍♀️
I have my 20 week scan on the 31st July but I'm sure it will be obvious half way through what it is. I'll find out on the 20 week scan as i don't think I can wait. I'm can cope for another 3 weeks.

Itonlytakesaminute · 11/07/2023 17:25

@Cowlan I say girl for you too

Mine was a clear boy nub and is a boy as confirmed by my gender scan

Cowlan · 11/07/2023 21:46

@Itonlytakesaminute aww hope so but either way will be happy!
Can you share yours? Only if your happy too 🥰 would be interested to see

Itonlytakesaminute · 11/07/2023 21:47

@17caterpillars1mouse im so sorry to hear how you've been feeling today! What time is your scan tomorrow?

Sorry I've missed lots in the group recently, I hope we're all doing well and it's so exciting the 20 week scans are all starting to happen. - I need a little help please, I'm currently away in Italy for work and it's been in the mid 30s over here and night time is 28/29 - tonight I'm really struggling with swollen feet and ankles anyone else get this? What do I do to reduce the swelling? I'm guessing it's the pregnancy plus the heat 🤷‍♀️ This doesn't normally happen to me so I've no idea for sure. I've just sat for half an hour with them in a bucket of cold water 😂 I thinks it's helps slightly. I'll welcome all ideas though because they're getting uncomfortable and I've gotta stand all day on them tomorrow too.

Sounds horrible you poor thing! The only thing I can think of is elevate your feet but might be too late now if you have to go to work now ☹️. Do your work colleagues know you’re pregnant? Hopefully you can sit down for part of the day?

17caterpillars1mouse · 12/07/2023 10:37

Thanks for the supportive messages everyone. Scan is at 11:35 so not long to wait. I think I may have felt him in the night but maybe I was dreaming. Staying positive

Flower35214 · 12/07/2023 12:31

I love seeing all the baby scans! Hope everyone that has a scan coming up is feeling okay and everything goes well! X

Undercoverunicorn · 12/07/2023 12:38

@17caterpillars1mouse hope all was ok at the scan.

17caterpillars1mouse · 12/07/2023 15:08

All good at our 20 week scan and he's definitely a boy. He was being a little awkward so all the checks took a while, mainly as he wouldn't move his hand from his face lol. Also looks really long!

RG84 · 12/07/2023 15:42

Glad everything went well with the scan :)

Counting the days until the 31st July for the 20 week scan! seems like sooooo long away. anyone else have a scan same day?

Charlielechat · 12/07/2023 16:08

Congratulations @17caterpillars1mouse ! Great news for you!

I'm definitely worrying more in the lead up to the big scan. It's not until August but I have a private scan booked for Friday though so hopefully all is good!

wannabemum38 · 12/07/2023 16:44

@17caterpillars1mouse glad it went well for you.
My 20.week scan is in 9 days time on 21st July counting down the days and still in disbelief that I've got this far no doubt will probably cry again! Hopefully good tears though.

Is anyone with the 2nd or onwards baby? I'm with my 2nd but haven't felt movements and I am 17+2 days. Should I be concerned or is this normal?

17caterpillars1mouse · 12/07/2023 17:05

@RG84 with my second pregnancy I remember feeling movement at 18 weeks so maybe soon. Do you know if your placenta is at the front though (usually find out at 20 week scan but you may no if you've had a scan around 16 weeks) as that means you can feel movements later and less strong

RG84 · 12/07/2023 17:21

@17caterpillars1mouse I had a scan over the weekend but to be honest the place I went too wasn't great. I asked what the heartrate was for the baby and the sonographer said they don't give those details...how odd. They also didnt print me a report as they don't do that and went it gave via email, I had go download the app to view it. Of course that didn't work. it was just a strange appointment to be honest so I am not relying on any of those results and would prefer to just wait for the 20 week scan. It's strange as my midwife said to avoid private scans because of things like this but she also said not all places are like that. So I have pretty much ignored the fact I even had a private scan as I have absolutory no idea on how it even went. Other than the fact they wrote the gender in an envelope.
But noted, it movements could be later, trying not to think about it too much, but of course naturally do..

smldnlove · 12/07/2023 17:24

Just bought my ‘Baby on board’ badge for London Underground and feels like a milestone! Was getting fed up of standing up for 40 min journeys to work!

Anyone else done similar now they’re bump is coming along?

Glad 20 week scans are happening and going well ✨

wannabemum38 · 12/07/2023 17:33

@smldnlove I wore mine for first time at weekend as was travelling around on the tube. I have a tiny bump so wasn't expecting to be offered a seat. On the busiest tube all the women looked away and didn't offer me a seat the only person who did was a guy who said in a loud voice do.you want me to find you a seat which was kind. I only had couple of stops to go so declined but thanked him all the same. It felt very surreal though to be wearing it!

@17caterpillars1mouse That's great news about your scan, so pleased for you!
Think I'm one of the last one's to have the 20 week scan, mine's on 11 August. But I did have my 16 week scan today along with blood test results and all came back negative/low risk. And an added bonus, I got to listen to baby's heartbeat. After hearing of many not having the opportunity to hear their baby's heartbeat at their 16 week appt, I'd prepared myself for not hearing it, so to hear it today was a lovely (and emotional) bonus.

I used to live in London until a couple of year's ago and was thinknig of getting the 'Baby on Board' badge as I may need to travel down for work. Is it a simple case of applying for it on the TFL website?

Charlielechat · 12/07/2023 18:20

@RG84 I had a really underwhelming experience with my 12 week scan at the hospital. Didn't find out heart rate or hear it and baby didn't move a muscle sitting with their back to us, and she didn't try move them. She only talked to us if I asked a question. So I feel the same as you, none the wiser really!
Frustrating for you especially when you're paying for it! At least your 20 week scan will be more in-depth.

That was lovely for you @Beans1982 my 20 week scan isn't until 8th August as well when I'll be 19+4!
