@Charlielechat ah at my 1w week scan the sonographer was telling me what's what. Although reading the NHS report for the scan at 12 week it didn't show where the placenta was situated and I forgot to ask. But yeah paying £70 to hear no information at all really annoyed me. Definitely won't be going there again. So will wait until the 31st July for the 20 week one.

You ladies reminded me of the baby on board batch, I've just ordered mine..I work from home but never know when you need it.

smldnlove · 12/07/2023 23:36

@Charlielechat my 20 week is 9th August so we are close together again! I think I’ll be 20+4 then. Feels like a lifetime away but I bet in a few weeks we’ll be talking about how fast the times gone! 😂

@wannabemum38 I’m suprised the women ignored you despite the badge!! Very rude. I’m glad the guy spoke up, sometimes they do surprise you! After a full day in the office today and our work summer party it was definitely time for the badge, can imagine in a few weeks when it’s hot again I’ll be thankful!! Can’t be long till your wedding now?! How is it all going?

Nclktnntt · 12/07/2023 23:52

@bookbathnap thank you, they do know but we had models in today (im a hairdresser and educator and over for educator sessions) so no sitting really as I'll be doing hair all day. I go home tomorrow so hopefully it's the heat and they'll calm down on the journey home 🤞

@17caterpillars1mouse so pleased for you and so glad your scan went well for you! A baby boy 🥰

Mushroo · 13/07/2023 07:42

@Beans1982 mine is the 11 August too when I’ll be 19+6! Can’t wait to get it out of the way and hope everything is ok.

NoodleQueen90 · 13/07/2023 08:35

My scan is on 26th July when I'll be exactly 20 weeks...can't wait to see the baby again 😍not planning on finding out the sex though.

Charlielechat · 13/07/2023 10:02

@smldnlove ah I think our 12 week scans were on the same day, wasn't that it? Funny the next one is the same too haha!
Oh the weeks really are flying in! Won't be long at all 🙊

SMG1992 · 13/07/2023 10:51

My scan is on 31st July - I'll be 20+5
I'm on holiday in Greece for a week from Saturday too so I'm sure time will fly by until then.
I think I might have felt the baby a bit last night (only small bubbles and flutters) - it was really subtle so not 100% so I'm hoping I can feel some more over the next few days/ weeks up to the scan

gurlwhaat · 13/07/2023 11:00

Helllo are any runners in the group experiencing round ligament pain? I was doing at least 2 runs a week pre-pregnancy between 8-10k each and a gym class that involves treadmill sprinting. I’ve cut down on my distance (so only doing around 4-6k now) and reduced my speed on the treadmill but get the worst lower stomach pain each time after the run. I’ve bought a maternity band thing to help strap in my stomach but it just minimises the pain! I’m only 15 weeks and really don’t want to have to stop running yet 😩 do any of the runners in the group have any tips? Not sure if it’s even safe to carry on running if I get pain every time..

SMG1992 · 13/07/2023 11:39

@gurlwhaat I'm an avid runner usually over 50k a week but I've completely stopped (18+1) as I felt physically it wasn't right for my body. I also didn't like being out when it was super hot and just generally felt like I was struggling.

I've swapped for walking and pilates but don't get the same endorphins which I really miss.
I'm going to get a home treadmill for the winter and hopefully will be able to build up post baby - I'm looking forward to some post partum PBs.

ejg504 · 13/07/2023 11:47

I've also had to stop running. It's the one exercise that just doesn't feel right and I usually run 3-5 times a week (was training for an ultra before found out I was pregnant). I'm now walking, doing strength work and a little bit of HIIT instead.

I'm sad as I love running but I had to give it up early during my first pregnancy too. Positively i was able to get back into it quickly and I think the other exercise I did really helped with my recovery (I was still swimming and walking 3 miles a day at 39 weeks pregnant).

smldnlove · 13/07/2023 12:15

@gurlwhaat I have had the exact same thing yes, I thought it was just me! I was getting really uncomfortable stomach pains in the lower stomach and had to slow right down - this was around week 7/8.

I’ve carried on but basically slowed right down and now only do about 3/4K at a time and at a jog pace, seems to have kept it at bay and had no issues since! Definitely do what feels right!!! Recommend trying a much slower pace and taking it from there.

SMG1992 · 13/07/2023 13:31

@ejg504 I'm hoping I'll be able to get back into it fairly easily - I need to start going swimming but hate all of the faff of getting changed, washing my hair etc
I'm sure I'll get into it if I get started.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 13/07/2023 13:33

I’ve never heard a heartbeat at any of my scans, only at midwife appointments later on with Doppler. I didn’t expect to though as it wasn’t detailed as something that would be done.

I’ve still to have my 20 week scan in mid-August and since I don’t have low pappa this time it will be my last scan. It’s strange that will be it until the birth.

wannabemum38 · 13/07/2023 14:24

@smldnlove it's 6 weeks on Saturday the big day I think going very quickly now.
Had my make up trial today which went well so all little bits slotting into place.
I've had bad constipation again and then lactulose worked yesterday evening but had my ibs cramps which I worry isn't good for baby.
Thought I may have felt little bean popping but it could just have been wind or constipation wish I could feel it more would make me less anxious!

For first timers - have you felt any movement yet and if so when? I’m 16 weeks on Saturday and absolutely zilch. I know it’s early but just wondering when I might feel something.

Charlielechat · 13/07/2023 14:34

@Mushroo nothing really. I've thought I felt maybe a bit of movement but I'm convinced it's just gas and that I'm probably just willing it to be the baby moving 😂 Hopefully feel something in the next few weeks!

Mushroo · 13/07/2023 14:36

@Charlielechat yeh I’ve had the same and got excited and it’s definitely just gas 😂

RG84 · 13/07/2023 14:50

@SMG1992 I also have my 20 week scan on the 31st July. Seems forever away hey.

I finally confirmed my daughters nursery in September, talk about last minute. I also heard people book nurseries as soon as baby is born..or even before..not sure how long I will be on maternity leave for. Last time I had 2 years off work. Not sure I can afford to have 1 year off but would love that 😭

I have a meeting with my manager on Monday, work relates stuff so I will be telling her then regarding the pregnancy.

Landsmen · 13/07/2023 15:28

I've just had my 20 week scan. I didn't find out the gender. I may ask them at my growth scan when I go without my husband as I've got a boy and a girl already so would be helpful to prepare. My sonographer was really nice, he had such a relaxing voice I almost fell asleep. I've yet to tell my boss but I have a small bump now so I think I will tell him next week.

SMG1992 · 13/07/2023 16:26

@RG84 exciting our scans are the same day! I had a 16 week scan too luckily but it still feels like such a long wait!

Nclktnntt · 13/07/2023 16:37

I think I may have felt little avocado (16+1) today - really not sure as it seemed higher up near my right lowest rib but on the side, didn't feel like gas, maybe like a very faint muscle spasm, but was quite fast. I think it's too soon. When I got back home My husband listened to my stomach and said it sound like bubbles in there - could be gas or digestion though. I didn't testa it felt like bubbles. No idea.

Beans1982 · 13/07/2023 16:58

@Mushroo Similar to others, not sure if I felt baby move or if it was just gas (since there seems to be a lot of it!). Felt something like a rolling feeling, low down on my left side - been placing my palm against the area since that's where baby was located during my midwife appt yesterday.
But I'm thinking it might be too early - first timer plus I'll only be 16 weeks tomorrow

Mushroo · 13/07/2023 17:09

@Beans1982 hopefully it was the baby! I can’t wait to start feeling movements. At my private scan they said my placenta is at the front so feel like Im in for a long wait!

Soundbathfan · 13/07/2023 22:55

My scan is tomorrow, a week early because of all the strikes. Thinking of all of you with a while to wait

Undercoverunicorn · 14/07/2023 05:49

@Soundbathfan good luck today, mine is the afternoon too!
