Here is information on the nub theory thegenderexperts.com/pages/nub-theory
And for the skull theory thegenderexperts.com/pages/skull-theory

I'm also on a nub theory fb group where you upload your scan photos.
I'd love to see people's scans? 😊

Beans1982 · 10/07/2023 14:31

@SMG1992 I'm a couple of weeks behind you but yesterday I started to experience some mild dull pain in my right side and then around my belly button last night, not sure if it's similar to what you're experiencing. According to Google, it could be round ligament pains like you say, but it kept me awake last night wondering all sorts, and by now the pain is gone. I hope you're feeling better today. I also went ten-pin bowling yesterday (only using the lightest ball) and thought maybe the pain was due to stretching when bowling.

@NoodleQueen90 I'm looking into getting more active now that nausea and tiredness are finally improving. I'm looking into Aquantal classes - is anyone else doing Aquanatal at the moment, or looking to start? I'm not the best swimmer but keen to do a whole-body workout.

NoodleQueen90 · 10/07/2023 15:27

@Beans1982 fab, I think I'll start slowly and add some little jogs into my walking again and build it up from there.
I had a look for aquanatal classes today but there aren't any in my area. They do have general aquafit classes though so I was going to ask if they were suitable but they are all during the day when I'm at work 😕I am the worlds worst at swimming but I'm thinking I'll use this as an opportunity to try and improve 😂

SMG1992 · 10/07/2023 17:31

@Beans1982 mine was a bit lower, but to be honest I'm starting to think it may have been gas!! My mind is just running away with me!

@NoodleQueen90 I was an avid runner pre pregnancy, I stopped during the really hot spell and don't know if I could get back into it now, I might look at some kind of swimming class though. I really miss the post run endorphins

Pitstop1986 · 10/07/2023 20:05

I started jogging again a couple of weeks ago now that the nausea has passed. I've been doing very short and slow jogs - just 2km a time and then a longer jog/walk where me and DH alternate walking and jogging over a 4 mole route. I'm trying to get one short 2km and a longer 4 mile jog/walk in per week. I also go to pregnancy yoga on a Saturday, but it's more stretching and breathing exercises rather than actual exercise!

I think as long as it's comfortable and your heart rate doesn't get too high, it'll be fine to start running again. Just take it slow and steady at first and see how you feel.

smldnlove · 10/07/2023 21:25

@NoodleQueen90 I still go to the gym around 4 times a week and do runs most days. I was very active before though so have just been keen to keep it up as keeps me feeling good in myself - found it helped massively with nausea and bloating too.

I would definitely try and see how you feel, take it slow. I’m a lot slower running now more just to be careful and then when I feel like a challenge I go a bit faster. But could speak to midwife first just to be sure?

@Cowlan I will send you mine! See what you think!

smldnlove · 10/07/2023 21:28

@Cowlan and others theorists! Nub or skull theory thoughts? ☺️

Keen to see others too & have a guess!

Cowlan · 10/07/2023 21:36

@smldnlove I'd say a boy based on the nub!
Sorry how far are along are you now?

Cowlan · 10/07/2023 21:38

@smldnlove any thoughts on mine?

I tried to apply this theory on my scan but I can't see anything 😂😂. Completely clueless.
Did you get any luck with that?

Cowlan · 10/07/2023 21:51

@nayagn sometimes a nub cannot be seen due to the angle of the scan photo and gestation.
I have had mostly girl comments based on the nub on my scan 😂 I will find out on Friday if it's true

Excited for you 🩷
Let us know if guesses were correct!!
Im looking forward for my scan too

smldnlove · 10/07/2023 21:56

@Cowlan i’m 16 weeks now and there I was 12+6 at time of scan. I can’t work out if that is the nub or not, seems a bit big 😳 But I am convinced it’s a boy so I’ll take it! Haha

yours screams girl to me! Not even based on the nub but more skull theory, really seems like a girl ☺️❤️

Cowlan · 10/07/2023 22:02

@nayagn thank you ☺️ when is your scan? Is it your 20week one?
Share your scan if your happy and we can have a guess?

Cowlan · 10/07/2023 22:03

@smldnlove I think there is stacking there, that's what makes me think it's a boy.
What makes you convinced it's a boy?
You will have to definitely share once baby arrives 🥰

Yes I will share this weekend whether it's true.

20 week scan Friday (a week early because of strikes :()
Does anyone know if I need to go with a full bladder? I know it's a long appt and don't want to be busting for a wee!

NoodleQueen90 · 11/07/2023 07:51

Thanks everyone for the running/exercise updates...I think I'll try to get back to it this week. I also share a horse 3 days a week but had given his owner notice as I haven't been riding much so I'm finishing up at the weekend 😭gutted but I'll have more time on my hands from next week.
I was so determined to keep up my exercise but the early weeks fatigue totally floored me and I noticed it was much worse the day after exercise...some days I felt like I couldn't get out of bed I was just so exhausted...glad that's over with!

17caterpillars1mouse · 11/07/2023 08:16

It's my 20 week scan tomorrow and I'm a nervous wreck. I haven't felt baby move in 24hrs and am just panicking there will be no heartbeat. I've lost a baby at 19 weeks previously. My placenta is at the front and baby is still relatively small so I'm trying yo tell myself he's just moved position behind the placenta, but I've been feeling him lightly and low down for a few wewks now daily.

Food and cold drinks, lying on my side don't seem to work yet, probably as I only feel him when he's really low down.

Just praying that I feel him at dome point today to put my mind at rest.

Sorry no real point to this post just trying to get my thoughts down

nayagn · 11/07/2023 08:47

@17caterpillars1mouse Im sorry to hear you're feeling this way. Sending you a hug & my positive thoughts.

If you panicking too much, is it possible for you to try and schedule a reassurance scan for today?

xX

SMG1992 · 11/07/2023 09:31

@17caterpillars1mouse Sorry you are feeling this way.
I'm struggling a bit with this time of being pregnant - I'm a couple of weeks behind you 17+6 and haven't felt movement at all yet.
Like you say, the baby is still very small and it is likely to be the positioning causing you to not feel the movement at this moment.
All the best for your scan tomorrow - are you finding out gender?

Charlielechat · 11/07/2023 09:41

Does anyone sleep on their back? I fall asleep on my side but keep waking up throughout the night/morning on my back. I know it's still early days but would rather try and avoid it now if possible! Anyone have any tips to avoid it?

Clucket87 · 11/07/2023 09:47

@17caterpillars1mouse I am sure everything will be fine. Most babies don't make their presence known properly for a while and a frontal placenta makes everything so much different.

@Charlielechat honestly I wouldn't worry to much. As you get bigger it's too uncomfortable to sleep on your back in my opinion.
I think they suggest a pillow between your knees which should help stop the rolling. I found one behind my back was good especially when I had back ache and I then couldn't move without moving it lol.

Hope everyone is doing okay. We've got this mama's. Regardless of how bad a day we have or the stress we feel, we are all going to be half way through before we know it. Come December and we have our babies, that is when the fun starts! Xx

NoodleQueen90 · 11/07/2023 09:49

Sorry to hear your feeling so anxious @17caterpillars1mouse it's totally understandable given what you've been through. What time is your scan tomorrow? Can you have a plan to keep busy up until then if it helps?
@Charlielechat I rotate from side to side and on my back throughout the night. All of the current research and NHS advice says that as long as you fall asleep on either side, it shouldn't matter if you wake up on your back. Apparently you spend the longest time in the position you fall asleep in. If you're still concerned, I find a U shaped pregnancy pillow makes it pretty much impossible to sleep on your back and they're really comfortable. I just got one for £30 from amazon and use it a few times a week just now.

Charlielechat · 11/07/2023 10:04

Thanks @Clucket87 and @NoodleQueen90 I'll have a look at u-shaped pillows!
