I think I might be starting to get a slight bump! 🤞I seem to have just popped a little bit overnight. Either that or it's all the chocolate I've been eating this week 😂

I'm with you all on the crying - the hormones have definitely ramped up this week!

Cowlan · 08/07/2023 22:53

Hello all! Is this a group for people due in Dec 2023?

smldnlove · 09/07/2023 08:40

@Charlielechat Exciting! Same here, it’s been a guessing game between the bloating and the bump for weeks but definitely a bump. Had my 16 week appointment and midwife said she can feel a bump growing. Have you had your 16 week appointment?

@Cowlan It is yes! Welcome 😊 what’s your due date?

99SR · 09/07/2023 08:53

@Clucket87 i cried when Wimbledon showed highlights of Andy Murray winning the title a few years ago 🤣🤣 was sobbing for almost an hour the other day after I seen a post about someone losing their dog too!

Charlielechat · 09/07/2023 08:54

@smldnlove My 16 week appointment isn't until 17th! I'm 15+2 today. But have a private scan next week so I'm looking forward to that. But also nervous! How did your midwife appointment go?
Will be nice to not have to wear clothes that hide my tummy 😂

NIC1201 · 09/07/2023 09:27

hi all, im due xmas eve but only just joining thread as have had 4 prev mc so was bit cautious. Now at 16wks today i feel its time to think ahead!!! Hope you are all doing well. I do have a daughter who is 2 and half. Have you guys got a fb group yet that i can join?

smldnlove · 09/07/2023 09:49

@Charlielechat Ahhh I don’t know why I thought we were a day apart or something! Not long at all to wait though, especially for private scan which will be so lovely to see at this stage too. They change so much!!

It was all good thank you! She just took a urine sample, checked my stomach and we listened to heart beat and all was going well. I’m finding I have less questions about the pregnancy now and more about the birth, which seems crazy as it’s a while away. But feels like times going by quite quickly, is it just me? Feels like 12 weeks was yesterday and now we’re onto 16!!

ThomasinaLivesHere · 09/07/2023 10:19

@NIC1201 Welcome and congratulations! I’m not aware of a Facebook group

Charlielechat · 09/07/2023 10:51

@smldnlove yeah I thought we were close too! I've been measuring 2 days behind at all my previous scans so I'm going with 29th December even though my period date would have me at 27th. Will see how little one is measuring next week!

I know it's hard to believe we're at this stage already 😱 I feel like the second trimester is going to fly in!

Cowlan · 09/07/2023 11:15

@smldnlove aw that's lovely to have a group with everyone due at similar times 😊 thank you!
I am due Christmas Day, il be 16 weeks tomorrow.
I have an early scan booked next week for an early gender reveal. Really really excited about that!
Does anyone know the sex of their baby yet? Or have any ideas?

Mushroo · 09/07/2023 11:20

@Cowlan welcome! I’m due 30 December so fairly close to you :)

Im having a girl! Are you planning to find out too?

ThomasinaLivesHere · 09/07/2023 12:32

@Cowlan I’m having another boy 😄. I found out around 14 weeks through the NIPT test.

Cowlan · 09/07/2023 12:40

@Mushroo and @ThomasinaLivesHere congratulations!!!
Yes, we are going to find out! I can't hold the excitement in until the 20week scan 😂

Cowlan · 09/07/2023 12:40

@ThomasinaLivesHere what's the NIPT test?

Flowersandfloral · 09/07/2023 18:10

@Cowlan we are finding out on the 27th July for our 20 week scan. Can't wait! I had a dream it was a girl last night which was the first time I've had any sort of hunch! How are you doing your gender reveal?

Onepotatotwopotatothreepotatofour · 09/07/2023 18:16

Hi can I join? Due 1st of December so 19 weeks, been holding off joining incase I jinxed anything!

Cowlan · 09/07/2023 20:39

@Flowersandfloral ohh how exciting! Please let us know what your having 🥰
I will also update. I think we are having a girl based on the null theory.
We have a meal booked for my partners birthday with family and our friend is going to buy a balloon in a box; either pink or blue and we will reveal it at the meal.
Are you doing a reveal?

Cowlan · 09/07/2023 20:40

@Onepotatotwopotatothreepotatofour welcome! I only joined yesterday.
Congratulations. Do you know what your having yet?

Cowlan · 09/07/2023 20:41

@Flowersandfloral are you willing to share your scan photo? To see if we can see the null?

Onepotatotwopotatothreepotatofour · 09/07/2023 21:16

@Cowlan yes I’m having a little boy! I’ve started to feel some gentle movements the last few days too so it’s slowly becoming more real! How about you?

Cowlan · 09/07/2023 21:21

@Onepotatotwopotatothreepotatofour congratulations! Is this your first?
That must be amazing! Iv not felt baby yet and cannot wait until I do.
I'm 16wks and we find out the sex next week as we have booked an early scan

ThomasinaLivesHere · 09/07/2023 21:28

@Cowlan The NIPT test is a blood test where they test DNA fragments from the placenta for chromosome disorders but they also can tell the baby’s sex through it too. You can get the test on the NHS if you get high probability through the standard blood test but I went private as I wanted extra reassurance given my age and one bonus is you get over 99% accuracy with the baby’s sex too.

SMG1992 · 10/07/2023 09:53

Hi all,
How is everyone getting on?
I had a scan at 16+1 and am now 17+5 but am feeling quite anxious again.
This stage is really tough as I've not felt any movements yet so I'm pretty much constantly worrying if everything is ok.
I've got some dull cramps in my low right side today and they are freaking me out too :( It could be ligament pain but it's so hard not knowing what's going on inside of me.

smldnlove · 10/07/2023 10:15

Does anyone know much about the nub or skull theory?

We are waiting until the day of birth for a surprise, but I'm so tempted to find out and so curious! If anyone likes having a guess, I'll share our 13 wk scan - I've somehow convince myself it's a boy!

Welcome to all the new joiners :) feeling very real now! Hope everyone is feeling positive and well today.

NoodleQueen90 · 10/07/2023 10:43

Morning, hope everyone is well :)
Welcome to all the new joiners. Someone asked above if there is a facebook group and there is but I'm not able to share the link 🤔I'll ask one of the admins on the page if they can share it here again as I think it was created a few threads ago. I'm not sure what their username is on here to tag them.
@SMG1992 I'm in a similar boat just now although not had a scan since 13 weeks but I'm sore/achy and not able to feel baby yet at 17+5. It hard not to worry and still 2 and a bit weeks until my 20 week scan on 26th. I'm trying to just stay positive as best I can and not wish the time away as I feel like time is starting to speed up a bit now!
@smldnlove I'm going for a surprise at birth as well 😁I've no idea about the nub theory, sorry...a few girls in another group sent their scan off to some groups on facebook though and have since had the result confirmed by scan and it was correct. I think it only cost about £6 or something.
How is everyone getting on with exercise? I used to run quite a lot...hadn't done any more than 5k since last summer but I was regularly running 5k's before falling pregnant. I did some slow 5k's early on around 6-7 weeks but then felt rubbish for a while and didn't do any running. I'm now chomping at the bit to get back out but unsure if it's a good idea given I've not ran for 10 weeks! I have still been walking most days though. Thinking I could give it a go and run/walk to build back up a bit for as long as it's comfortable?
Also planning on going swimming too...it's never been my favourite exercise but it appeals to take the weight off now and I'm thinking will definitely be welcome later on. I've ordered a maternity costume today.
