@Ap24 how you getting on with the Cyclizine? I’ve not found it helpful at all, just makes me feel super tired!

so envious of everyone carrying on with their workouts! I feel so awful I can’t even go for a walk because that exacerbates the sickness :(

Aquarius93 · 19/07/2023 14:07

@mrsgtobe97 I’ve decided I’m not going to test for the 3+ weeks. Already this pregnancy has been so different to my last (and I’m only 4+6)

With my daughter I didn’t get a positive test until 2 days after my period was due and even then, it was so faint that you could hardly see the line. I didn’t get the 3+ weeks until I was 6 weeks pregnant. This pregnancy I got a positive 5 days before my period was due and 2-3 weeks on clearblue, 2 days before I was due. So completely different! I’m guessing it’s all to do with timing of when you implant!

J2023xx · 19/07/2023 15:34

We need to create a new chat before this one hits 1000 posts. Does anyone know an easy way of getting it set up and sharing for all to join?

Khanga27 · 19/07/2023 16:27

6+6 weeks today and the exhaustion is so so difficult. I had bad exhaustion and nausea the past 2days so needed go call in sick to work. I'm really struggling with full day without just feeling completely exhausted. I do computer based work analysing and it's just so hard to feel I can do a good job when I feel like this.

I really wanted to wait until first trimester was over before I told work but I am starting to feel I may need to tell sooner. Anyone else had this problem?

krissy12 · 19/07/2023 16:49

thank you @Aquarius93 & @J2023xx measuring 5 weeks in scan which I think is right but too early for heartbeat so back in 2 weeks. but they're sending an email to my gp to prescribe progesterone so hopefully will get that tomorrow

LeopardLover · 19/07/2023 17:12

@Khanga27 I pulled a sickie today too because of the nausea. I'm also quite a bubbly personality so it's impossible to keep up the charade. 😭 I need to wait to tell work as I'm negotiating a payrise and new benefits should start in September!

@krissy12 Glad the scan went well and you have another booked in. Hopefully you'll get to see the heartbeat then 🥰

@PamelaShipman80 I can't go for walks either 🤢 so frustrating. Hopefully this is just temporary. I have much respect for women with HG. I haven't been sick but I'm nauseous 24/7,i can't even sleep!

FinallyMrsT · 19/07/2023 18:25

Hi, hope your don't mind me joining. I've just had a bfp today. And I wasn't expecting it despite trying. Af isn't due until Friday though.
I have a step son who's just turned 16.
And a son who's almost 14, I had him when i was 17 and unplanned and yet my biggest blessing.
I've been married for 12 weeks (on saturday) and I havnt actually told DH yet, he's working away I'm waiting for him to video call later but I just couldn't hold in this excitement.

LeopardLover · 19/07/2023 18:38

@FinallyMrsT Awww, congratulations! You must be so excited. 🎉 How cute baby will have two big brothers 🥰 hope the call goes well tonight! Do you think your husband will be surprised?

FinallyMrsT · 19/07/2023 18:49

@LeopardLover they both have siblings from their other parents but my son has very little contact with his, he's going to be buzzing but honestly i cant wait to make them both big brothers once more.

We were ttc so he won't be that surprised but I think happy shock and I think he'll cry because he's a softie.
I keep telling him I'm not the girl that gets the happy ever after- about getting married and things and he keeps telling me to believe I'll get the dream...so I think he'll tell me I told you so 🤣
I havnt gone back through the whole post but I hope everyone is well. I suspect my edd will be about 29/3

LeopardLover · 19/07/2023 18:58

@FinallyMrsT Oh that's so sweet 🥰 hopefully they'll have a lovely close relationship!

Oh I love that he's in tune with his emotions 💜 and so nice he's so positive!! Keep us updated with his reaction. My EDD is 11th March 😊

FinallyMrsT · 19/07/2023 19:03

Oh how wonderful @LeopardLover I hope symptoms are manageable for you as they start revving up. I will be sure to report back later

Busylizzie85 · 19/07/2023 19:09

Oh @LeopardLover your due on my birthday! I'm hoping my little one holds out till a good few days afterwards or maybe a week before 🤞

LeopardLover · 19/07/2023 19:32

@FinallyMrsT Thank you! I've just bought some sea bands so hoping they help 😅

@Busylizzie85 How cute is that! Is this your first? My first was 10 days late 😅 Although we'll be having an ELCS this time so it'll probably be earlier. It'll be strange to know the exact date! X

L0uise35 · 19/07/2023 19:37

@Khanga27 I'm the same with the nausea and tiredness. I have really bad heartburn and acid too. Doctor prescribed me this - in pic. Doc also told me to graze on salted crackers and ice pops.
I have a scan on Monday and I'm telling work on the Wednesday, I'll be 8 weeks.

Is anyone due March 2024!?
Busylizzie85 · 19/07/2023 19:38

@LeopardLover no this is my second one 😊
I do wonder if they will let me go full term this time round as had issues towards the end of my last pregnancy but we will see x

FinallyMrsT · 19/07/2023 20:04

Great tips thanks @L0uise35 ice pops and crackers where life in my last pregnancy so he's probably on to a winner with those suggestions.

Oo@LeopardLover sea bands good Idea, I have some of those in my case from the honeymoon if the nausea comes for me

LeopardLover · 19/07/2023 20:08

@Busylizzie85 Oooh we might both be having babies early then! 😊

@FinallyMrsT Hopefully they work and fingers crossed you don't get any!! 💜

blodyn91 · 19/07/2023 20:48

Welcome @FinallyMrsT

@LeopardLover thats so bad re booking in at over 12 weeks!!! You going for elective C section because of trauma with 1st? Im going to attempt another VB but no drugs this time 😵‍💫😵‍💫

LeopardLover · 19/07/2023 21:09

@blodyn91 Right! Turns out they will now be on the same day 👀 it's pretty sad so many midwives are leaving the progression 😔.

Yes! I really don't want a c section but my pelvic floor has taken a beating and every specialist I've seen has suggested (without explicitly saying it) I get a c section. Because things get worse during menopause 😫

That's incredible!! 💜 I wish I had that chance, my waters broke and it took 24 hours to go into labour, so after about 36-40 or so hours they said I needed to be induced. At which point I was so tired (I was relentlessly sick through the whole thing - no meds helped) and had no food, so I took all the drugs. I had a 10/10 epidural! Didn't love the spinal block though 👀

ScottishStardust · 19/07/2023 21:20

Sorry @blodyn91 - left you hanging!! Hmm

So I don't know much about the maternity pay out with employment - but I believe it's the same as statutory in employment (6 weeks @ 90% and 33 weeks @ £172 per week) obviously this is dependent on your NI'able earnings during the qualifying period. So sounds like it'd be similar to what you are going to get at your current employer so maybe not too big a deal. However what you may wish to consider is pension contributions etc as that's not covered by the maternity allowance but your company should continue to pay the ER contributions at a minimum.

Sorry information overload for 6 weeks pregnant haha!! Xx

blodyn91 · 19/07/2023 21:55

@LeopardLover I was sick too! in the birthing pool, worse thing I tried, it was too hot 😅 took pethadine, knocked me out, 12 hours later was being rushed to hospital. This time no no no to pethadine!! But im allowed ro be midwife led again 👌

@ScottishStardust thank you!
I really don't know what to do, Im kind of too exhausted to start applying again after being so close to getting this job. Might just focus on enjoying this job over the next 9months.

I keep having dizzy spells/ the shakes. Had to eat a mars bar to calm myself down after work. I hate googling thiese symptoms 🤣🤣
