Sorry I've not been around much. I'm currently signed off work and I'm starting some anti sickness tablets tomorrow.

@blodyn91 I'm sorry about the job, I was in the process of applying for a different department at work but I've decided to put it all on hold. It's really tough to know what's for the best.

Congratulations to everyone who is just finding out!

LeopardLover · 17/07/2023 17:49

@blodyn91 Ugh, sorry about the job! That's rubbish. I say go for the other one if roles don't normally come up in you industry!

@Ap24 You poor thing. Really hope the tablets help!! I think I might be heading to the GP soon as well 🤢 Realising how easy I had it with my son 😅

Aquarius93 · 17/07/2023 19:30

Sorry if this has come up earlier in the thread but is anyone trying to carry on exercising and what are you doing?

I gained a lot of weight with my first so I want to try to keep going with my exercise routine, at least when I can. I normally do hiit but I’ve already swapped to lower intensity as I don’t want to overdo it!

ScottishStardust · 17/07/2023 19:37

@blodyn91 sorry to hear you didn't get the job! What's for you won't go by you.
I want to add in that if this other job is with a new company you may wish to be mindful that although you'd be guaranteed the maternity leave, with your (and my) expected due date you wouldn't qualify for statutory pay as you need to be in employment by 17th June (I work in payroll and had a nosey today out of curiosity). I know it's only short term and can apply to the government for statutory maternity pay but wanted to throw it out there! X

LeopardLover · 17/07/2023 20:32

@ScottishStardust Great intel!! 🤓

Ap24 · 17/07/2023 20:39

@LeopardLover I was a little worried. I wasn't sure if they would put something generic on the fit note, but the doctor was fine with it. And she spoke to me for quite some time about finding the right meds that will not only stop the sickness but hopefully the nausea too. I would definitely recommend reaching out and not just suffering in silence.

@Aquarius93 I really want to stay as active as possible. There seems to be a lot of benefits. Due to the sickness I've done nothing for the past week, I've found even walking makes it worse. But hopefully once the meds kick in I will be giving it a go. I'm thinking lots of walking and I'll probably have a look on YouTube for some pregnancy strength type classes.

ScottishStardust · 17/07/2023 20:42

@LeopardLover I have some uses I guess!!

blodyn91 · 17/07/2023 21:37

@ScottishStardust ohh can you explain it more? So at current job I only get statutory mat leave, 90% for 6 week, then it was like £500 a month 🫠 (which doesn't cover my half of the mortgage). If I moved jobs, would I loose even the 6 weeks at 90%?

One of my new year resolutions was to fight for better mat pay within the company..... but we've had a re structure and positions at the top not filled yet, so I haven't done anything. But really ought to!!

@Aquarius93 so Im a bit of a fittness addict 🙈 Currently into Triathlons, so will continue to run, bike and swim until I can't. I have started more specific strength work last week, yoga is also good. (but I find it boring).

elarcoiris · 17/07/2023 21:39

@Aquarius93 I’m still going to my normal weights and yoga classes at the gym. We moved house over the weekend so took a bit of a pause for that but planning on going back this week. All the trainers at my gym are pre and post natally trained so can give modifications etc (although haven’t told them yet and just taking it a bit easier than usual if needed) but I think as long as you’re not overdoing it and the people leading classes are aware you’re pregnant once further along should be fine if you want to keep going.

sandraso · 17/07/2023 22:13

@Aquarius93 I'm continuing with my reformer pilates, I think as long as it doesn't raise your heart rate very high, it's ok at this stage. And reformer pilates is low intensity so I'm happy to continue 😊

Hello everyone, I've just joined the FB group! I had one with my 2020 Dec baby and it was the best support network I could wish for😊
I'm 4+1 with EDD 24th of March. I'm so excited which is hard knowing how much can still go wrong but fingers crossed all works out..
Been trying for a second one since the beginning of this year as I have long cycles (37 days) and I am VERY excited to grow our little family 💗also intrigued to see how different things will be this time around now that it isn't pandemic!

Kay00 · 17/07/2023 22:20

Congratulations @sandraso

Hopefulhoney6 · 17/07/2023 22:42

@krissy12 all ok at the scan 😃 so despite having no symptoms except a bit of extra peeing and hunger, I had a strong heartbeat and 7+1 measurements. 🙏🏽 it all continues well.

re: exercise, I’ve been doing my normal classes but I had some spotting after deadlifting and back squats and my consultant just said to take it easy on the very heavy weights. So think I should listen to that. Once I’m past 12 weeks I’ll probably tell the trainers in my gym classes.

Labyrinth86 · 17/07/2023 22:42

Thanks for getting back to me @HKS90 @MrsG2907 @blodyn91 @Hopefulhoney6 @LeopardLover

@MrsG2907 Yes, I'm having a scan next week :)

@blodyn91 Yes, I'm taking Pregnacare Max but the tablets are huge. I keep almost choking on them.

@Hopefulhoney6 I'm really sorry to hear that about your last pregnancy. Sending you positive vibes for this one! I hope your scan went well!

@LeopardLover Sorry to hear you're going through all that! Sounds like signs of a healthy pregnancy but very rough going to be living through. My last pregnancy was so rough, I had to tell my boss at 6 weeks - before my friends and family - because I was struggling to keep up at work.

Fantastic news @Hopefulhoney6

Aquarius93 · 18/07/2023 06:26

Thanks for all the exercise advice! I’m going to try to keep going with my usual routine and just lower the intensity as I need to. I had such bad PGP in my last pregnancy that I just avoided exercise completely which probably didn’t help!

Congratulations @sandraso

Glad to hear the scan went well @Hopefulhoney6 and you got some reassurance

Prudence00 · 18/07/2023 07:20

@Labyrinth86 - I’ve had zero morning sickness. The smell of pork including bacon makes me feel nauseous but it passes quickly. My boobs are very tender, my exhaustion is next level, my back is in pieces and the heartburn has started.

Bellabeemarie · 18/07/2023 07:46

I'm only 3+5 only thing I'm noticing is im extremely tired, I can't keep my eyes open past 9pm the last few days... my nipples are a little tender and I've noticed Slight cramps on and off now and again the last 2 days x

blodyn91 · 18/07/2023 10:39

Filled the online self referral yesterday morning, just had a phone call, booking in appointment 17th August, 12 week scan September 5th!!!!
Based in Shropshire, Shrewsbury hospital maternity unit/ Telford for birth!
Won't be getting an early scan, so long wait ahead, but its feeling very real!

Aquarius93 · 18/07/2023 10:46

@blodyn91 great to have some dates to look forward to!

With my first all appointments were through the GP practice so I was able to get everything booked in straight away. It’s now moved to self referral to the community midwife so just waiting for them to call back!

Ap24 · 18/07/2023 10:57

I got my cyclizine tablets this morning. I am incredibly grateful because the nausea was terrible last night and this morning. I feel a little spaced out on them but far less nauseous and I haven't been sick since they kicked in.

How's everyone else feeling?

Strawb28 · 18/07/2023 11:54

Hi all, can I tentatively join? Found out I was pregnant at 9dpo at 3 weeks and 2 days. I'm now 3 weeks and 6 days pregnant and super nervous as I had a previous chemical pregnancy!

I was so glad to read your post @Hopefulhoney6 as I'm the same as you just more peeing and more hungry (feel sick if I don't eat lol) and my boobs have definitely changed in terms of they are more firm on the top but not sore. For the first 2/3 days I had nausea and headache but I assume maybe that was around implantation!

Gryffindoratheart · 18/07/2023 13:18

Hi, I'd like to join too please. Have requested to join the Facebook group too.

I'm 4 weeks 3 days, and got my BFP today with a clear blue digi - due 25th March 2024 after a first round of IVF

LeopardLover · 18/07/2023 13:36

@blodyn91 I knew you were a fit one 😂

@Labyrinth86 Thank you for the sympathy! I'm really struggling at work today. Not sure how I'll survive an office day tomorrow. Need to wait until September when new maternity benefits get announced 😭 It's exciting you have a scan next week!

@Ap24 Glad the medicine is helping and thank you for sharing. If I don't improve soon I will contact the GP.

Welcome to all the newbies 😊💜 is anyone else suffering from loose stools? A new symptom for me 😅

blodyn91 · 18/07/2023 13:37

welcome @Strawb28 @Gryffindoratheart and congratulations!

I also had bad nausea last week, but now I'm fine!
Working from home today 🧖🏼‍♀️🧖🏼‍♀️
Its horrible weather here though, off on our camping holiday next week, so really hoping the wether improves!

blodyn91 · 18/07/2023 13:40

@LeopardLover 🫢🫢🫢 buggy running is also a great sport!
