Reduced movement again 2 days later

I'm 37+2, I was at the MAU only 2 days ago for reduced movement as I had hardly felt baby move all day and of course once I was there and on the CTG she was moving like crazy but all day she'd hardly moved. The midwife said they'd been really busy with reduced movement cases that day and it was likely because of the heat.

I was told because it was my 3rd visit for reduced movement (I went twice at around 25 weeks) then I'd be referred for a scan but as I only had a growth scan last week I couldn't have the scan for another week. I also got a snippy comment that they wouldn't be bringing my c section any sooner (I don't want that!)

2 days later and I feel like the movements have reduced once again, she's still moving and I've had a few kicks this morning it just feels much less frequent and less strong, she usually kicks loads after my dinner and keeps me up from falling asleep at night because of all the movement but not last night

I am going to be ringing as soon as DD is awake (currently asleep on me) but I just wanted someone to talk to as I'm worried they'll think I'm taking the mick and she'll start moving loads as soon as I'm there

My dd went straight into NICU at birth because of breathing problems. I know how you feel and massive handhold from me.

CC222 · 17/06/2023 15:41

Praying everything is ok with your little one. You absolutely done the right thing getting her here early x

Cakeorchocolate · 17/06/2023 15:47

Well done OK trusting your instincts and not being fobbed off.

Congratulations on the arrival of your daughter. I'm sorry she needs some support and you can't be with her at the moment.
I hope it's not for long and she pinks up soon and you're able to be together.
It must be so hard to be separated from your baby.

DeadButDelicious · 17/06/2023 16:27

Congratulations op. Well done for not letting them fob you off.
Hope she has started to perk up xx

Smurf123 · 17/06/2023 17:00

Hope she is doing OK @scrantonelectriccity my son was similar though he went straight to nicu after the birthday because of breathing issues. He was started on antibiotics as I had tested positive for group b strep.

He spent a week in nicu but is now a healthy happy 5 year old

PointyMcguire · 17/06/2023 17:14

Oh @scrantonelectriccity that sounds scary. Fingers crossed things start improving soon x

Evenstar · 17/06/2023 18:15

My eldest ended up in NICU with pneumonia caused by Strep B just after he was born. He is now a healthy 32 year old. Sending you all good wishes at this time.

You have done everything possible and been so strong.

SergeiL · 17/06/2023 18:18

Thank goodness you trusted your instincts. She is in the right place and hopefully she will be in your arms very soon. Wishing you and her lots of positive thoughts.

StampOnTheGround · 17/06/2023 19:57

Thinking of you all 💗

scrantonelectriccity · 17/06/2023 21:54

Thanks so much everyone I really appreciate and I'm so glad I listened to my gut! I'm not sure if whatever is wrong with her is the reason she had reduced movements but it seems like she needed to come out.

Had a couple of hours of cuddles with her this evening and now I'm going to sleep and I'll be back with her in the morning.

The doctor will review her tomorrow so I'll have more of an update then.

I'm not sure how I'm going to sleep tonight 😞

Thinking of you and your little girl – hope she's improved and you've been able to be with her 💕

MaverickSnoopy · 17/06/2023 22:05

I've been thinking of you today OP. Don't worry about sleep tonight, just try and rest. Do you have earphones that you can use? I find YouTube sleep hypnosis really good when needed.

Make sure you have plenty to drink, eat if you can and just lie quietly and rest up as much as possible.

I am glad you have been able to spend time with your beautiful girl and that the doctors are able to give you positive news tomorrow.

Evenstar · 17/06/2023 22:19

Sorry that should have said hoping for positive news tomorrow

JustForTheTasteOfItDC · 17/06/2023 22:19

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. Sending love OP. My first was in NICU for 5 days after birth and it was really hard. Don’t know if you want to breastfeed but ask them to come and wake you up and get you during the night to go and feed. Hope she is ok

Hotandverybothered · 17/06/2023 22:22

Congratulations…definitely the right call to deliver your baby , My two both went to scbu for the same breathing problems and are fit and healthy 23 and 28 year olds . I hope you get some rest tonight 💐🌺

Evenstar · 17/06/2023 22:25

Yes, I should have said that the staff were happy for me to go and feed at any time, but I hadn’t had a caesarean, they might feel you should rest tonight.

finished31 · 17/06/2023 22:36

I'm so glad you went with you gut. Your both in the best place xx
