@LeeanneD11 yeah it’s so tough. Hope they’re able to help you at your appointment today - let us know how you get on:

I've been told to slow down , and do less house work and less school runs and been given a support belt to help me and next app is in 2 weeks to see if any better xx

@TAW2502 @reememberly @LeeanneD11

Hi ladies, I too have been suffering with the pelvic pain on and off since about week 16 but it’s more constant now.
I’m having to slow right down, take shorter strides and wear a support belt when commuting. No heavy lifting either.
Pillow between the legs definitely worked for me but also important to have something between the ankles too otherwise the knees are still being forced to angle outwards.
Downloaded the squeeze app and working on my kegels which I found has helped too and also some physio exercises. I’m still doing yoga but not pushing myself in moves I know might aggravate it.
Hope everyone is able to get some relief doing these things as it’s important to try and remain active whilst also taking it easy. ❤️

Same as me since 16 weeks so 6 & half weeks now , I've been told to slow down , the pillow between my legs didn't help at all and the physio was very helpful everything he done it was just hurting so I've been given a support belt so hoping that helps. I didn't suffer this badly in my last pregnancies . So I'm lucky I even managed to see a physiotherapist xx

Crazybrowncow · 27/07/2023 22:30

@LeeanneD11 I had it with my son, I feel your pain. I'm really hoping I don't get it again. I seem to be getting a carpal tunnel type pain in my forearm this time - hopefully just a busy day hammering the keyboard and it will settle!

It's horrible, I'm suffering so much it affects my daily activities xx

@LeeanneD11 hope the support belt makes a difference. Someone recommended me the one from jojo which I’m thinking about trying cause the physio dept last time just gave me a stretchy bandage which wasn’t v practical for getting on and off, especially given the reason I was meant to be wearing it!

@CliniMama or anyone else able to recommend any pregnancy yoga/pilates on YouTube that would be suitable with PGP? I don’t want to lose core strength, but I’m worried about doing the wrong movements and causing long term damage.

Thank you I hope so too , this pain is horrible xx

@reememberly Google came up with the following: https://theeverymom.com/best-pregnancy-workouts-on-youtube/ but I haven’t tried any myself as my classes are in-person. Let us know if you find any you like though.

8 of the Best Pregnancy Workouts on YouTube

getting the motivation to workout while pregnant is difficult, so at-home workouts are key!

Hey all, hope everyone is good and pregnancies going well, hoping to get your thoughts on this ?

Baby movement at 25 weeks, what is normal?

I have an anterior placenta, I do feel baby every day but some days more than others and some days stronger than others, once I think a pattern is emerging it changes, I can go 6 hours plus sometimes without movement. Sometimes I just get one wee kick and then nothing.

I don't want to be a torture with my maternity assessment unit, what's normal for this stage with anterior and when should I call maternity unit to be checked out?

I have an anterior placenta and am exactly the same. I’m a week behind you at 24 weeks tomorrow and I still have the odd day where I only feel baby when I’m lay in bed.

I have some times where I just have an uncomfortable feeling which I think is the baby moving against the placenta but it doesn’t obviously feel like movements.

It’s very different to my last pregnancy when the placenta was at the back.

PinkPlantCase · 30/07/2023 11:59

Just wanted to add that I haven’t been worried about it. I think it’s pretty normal at this stage

38andtrying · 30/07/2023 12:09

@PinkPlantCase thanks, I'm a born worrier, anterior placenta was the last thing I needed. I have midwife appointment on Wednesday so I'm hoping she can relieve my anxieties

LilmissCa · 30/07/2023 13:07

@38andtrying I'm pretty similar .. no pattern in movements. And majority of movements are like @PinkPlantCase is when I'm laying in bed. I would go the same hours not feeling anything when I'm active during the day. But I'm kept quite busy with a 1.5yr old I don't get time to think too much.
Now thinking I've not felt any movement since I woke up this morning in bed. But at 24wks I'm not overly worried. Im also currently on a remote island off Ireland so thankfully not stressing!

DollyGx · 30/07/2023 14:32

@38andtrying I’m also 25 weeks with an anterior placenta and having the exact same worries. And here was me thinking that when I started to feel movements that would ease my mind more 🙄 feel like I went the past 2 days barely feeling anything then she seems to have been more active today, so yeah I think it’s just too early to have any established pattern. Let us know what the midwife says on Wednesday, I don’t see mines now till 28 weeks by which point I’m hoping I’ll be starting to feel more🤞🏼

Thack · 30/07/2023 14:37

I'm so far away from a pattern! Maybe a weekly one: three party days followed by two days with seemingly little.

I did pop in for a check when I was worried about movement last week (approx 24wks at that point), they listened to heartbeat on doppler, checked my BP and urine and gave reassurance. I felt a little foolish, I'd had some movements but there was such a contrast from day to day. The small scan result had left me shaken so no regrets but it definitely made me relax that it's normal.

PinkPlantCase · 30/07/2023 14:57

I’m generally a bit cautious about going in for reduced movements. In some trusts if you go in 2 times or move even if everything is absolutely fine when you are checked they can count you as high risk, start pushing for induction before 40 weeks and it can limit your birth options.

I would completely understand the above if they did find that something was wrong during the monitoring, if the mother really felt that something was still wrong or if additional risks were picked up but I’ve heard of so many women who have gone and been checked several times because especially later on in pregnancy a lot of the advice is not to wait and see but then had it held against them later when choosing where or how to give birth.

foodislife1 · 30/07/2023 15:25

Anyone else feeling very emotional? I'm 26weeks and feel like it's all getting on top of me

GreenAventurine · 30/07/2023 16:53

I came on to ask about movements too, but for me it’s the opposite. Baby has been really active today, since the early hours really. Really strong movements too. I thought it was sweet until I had a thought that it might mean she’s distressed. Usually I’m worried she hasn’t moved enough!
I think it’s right though, that maybe there is no pattern until later on.

CliniMama · 30/07/2023 19:31

@38andtrying @DollyGx
I’ve got a posterior but low-lying placenta however still can go for hours (like a whole day) without feeling baby, especially when I’m busy/active. Tends to make up for when I’m in bed. I’m not worried as long as I feel baby at some point within a 24 hour period. Positioning makes a difference as I tend to feel more movements up top than I do lower down so I just assume baby is in a different position but probably still active when I can’t feel them. I also read that they sleep for 18 hours so that’s only 6 hours to feel movement and they’re most active when we’re still/asleep so easy to miss movements too.
28 weeks is around when they should start to get into a regular movement pattern and we’re supposed to start monitoring them so I think it’s too early to really be worried but of course if you are worried get in touch with your midwife.

Just to offer some reassurance, I had this Tuesday. I'd woken about 3am and felt him move constantly until 8pm. I went to an ante-natal swim class and the midwife who ran it suggested ringing triage. I did, and they told me there's no such thing as over-movement. It could be as a result of a lot of sugar you've eaten, rich foods or just baby having a busy day! They did offer for me to go in to have the heart rate checked which I did and all was normal, but this was purely to reassure me. I was told not to expect a routine until 28 weeks, until then, some days are party days and some are chill days 🤣.
The worry never stops!! Xx

Psqueak87 · 30/07/2023 22:49

@38andtrying I am 26+1 today. No rhyme nor rhythm to my movements yet. Also anterior placenta. Last week I went to a bootcamp class and she was moving so much when I lied down after, like she moving more than ever, even caught some on camera.
then the last two days I felt absolutely nothing. On the second night I did start to worry a little, I’d poke and move about and still nothing. Then today I felt her again!

I have a routine OBGYN apt on Wednesday so I will ask him then! But he’s pretty chill so I assume he will tell me all is good!

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 30/07/2023 23:06

I have posterior placenta previa, 23 weeks. I feel some really big movements, but still go several hours without any. They wake me up in the morning, I feel them in the evening such as when I go to bed. During the day the more active I am the less I feel, I think if I'm walking around a lot the rocking motion sends it to sleep! If I'm sat and the desk touches my stomach or I have my laptop or a plate on it baby wakes up and kicks it until I remove it, or if I'm hunched forwards it isn't shy of giving me a boot to remind me to give it more space 🤣.

Some days I feel huge amount of movement, sort of like its going around like a pinball machine, other days I've been active and I'll not feel it for several hours, nothing when I eat or drink, tell my DH I haven't felt it and I'm getting worried, he touches my bump and talks to it and suddenly its all "Daddy's here, hello" and wriggling away!

Crazybrowncow · 30/07/2023 23:08

@foodislife1 I hope you're ok. I have felt very 'sad' at times with this pregnancy, it seems to
Be increasing as well. I've had a lot going on and having a toddler doesn't always allow you to stop and reflect! There are so many anxieties, unknowns and pressures it can feel difficult- can you talk to your midwife?

At my 16wk I told mine I still felt anxious having had a missed miscarriage previously, she said I could call her for a quick listen on the Doppler anytime, which mentally has helped so much. Do you know whether it is something specific getting on top of you? Hang in there and talk to someone if you need to, it's well written about & is a thing! x

WhiteJasmin · 31/07/2023 02:01

@foodislife1 @Crazybrowncow I'm also feeling emotional as well and not sure if it's to do with pregnancy hormones. I feel quite excluded at family events because they repeatedly picked places that I'm not comfortable going to (covid, flu etc.) I understand not everything is revolving around a pregnant woman but it would be things like, a family member's dog is recovering from gastro but they rather the dog be at the birthday and told me and my husband to stay at home. Or they decide on a place for a birthday they already know upfront I'm uncomfortable with and didn't even bother asking. Now I actually still go out but I pick places that have outdoor seating or are bit more spaced out inside which there are options around as I haven't felt like I'm missing out on much. It's been fine hanging out with friends. I'm re-evaluating my relationships with family members given I'm usually first point of call when people need help.
