Also just catching up - I’m having legs cramps too in the middle of the night. It’s really helped just making sure I’m hydrated in the day and doing calf exercises before bed - I’ll stand on the bottom of the step and lean my heels off and go up and down to stretch my calves. Since doing that the cramps have stopped

Spareincoming · 22/06/2023 17:53

@Katiec1 mine weren’t constant but several times a day. If you’re concerned, the maternity unit won’t mind a quick phone call at all.

Hi ladies hope everyone is doing ok and coping in the heat, do not envy my heavily pregnant friends just now! Had my 20 week scan today and everything looked fine. The only thing was I have an anterior placenta (which I already knew) but the sonographer said it is also quite low lying so I’ll have an extra scan at 30 weeks to see if it’s moved up. Has anyone else ever had this before and it’s moved?

Thack · 22/06/2023 20:15

I had a scan today too, all good. Femur measured just under the expected so we're booked back in 4 weeks for a growth scan.
Sonographer did say head and body measured fine today and that we'd see the consultant after the next scan. Apparently they'll take parents height into account: I'm a titch and DH isn't tall, so I think that means baby is just going to be a shorty too!

spanglesj · 22/06/2023 20:20

@Katiec1 yes I had a severe stitch pain yesterday but it followed rushing around and then walking fast, it went after a little while with relaxing and slowing down. Not sure if that helps. I wasn’t too worried as had a similar feeling when running when pregnant previously. For me it is activity that seems to trigger it.

Also worried a little here today as defo felt movements but not for a day or 2, however it is reassuring to hear how lots of us in this boat, with baby having lots of space to move around, the anterior placenta and being busy, it’s not surprising x

Hello ladies, I haven't been on the thread for a little while. Hope everyone's okay in the heat 🌞
@LeeanneD11 I've been referred already to the physio for PGP as I had it in my second pregnancy (not in my 3rd or 4th) but have been having back/hip and sciatic pain. Also I've gone a few days without feeling much in the way of movement too. Have to keep remembering that it's normal at this stage!
I haven't been told I have an anterior placenta (really hope I haven't! Had one with my 3rd) but the midwife had a job finding baby's heartbeat a few weeks ago.
Less than a fortnight until our 20 week scan, all four kids are convinced it's a girl - will have to wait and see!

Can I ask why you're hoping you don't have an anterior placenta? I've had it with both of mine and it never caused any issues (so far) so just curious

Bookworm12345 · 22/06/2023 21:23

@amispeakingintongues
I could be wrong, but I believe it caused my baby to turn back to back and make labour more difficult. To be honest, it was my first labour after 2 c-sections, so that could have had something to do with it. Labour was so much easier with my 4th and no anterior placenta.

I've got midwife tomorrow so I'll speak to her about being referred to physio as I can't deal with it I had it in my last one too but later on in the pregnancy. I've got pregnancy waddle already my friend said lol 🤣 x

LeeanneD11 · 22/06/2023 21:29

@amispeakingintongues

When did you start feeling your baby movements if you don't mind me asking when you had an anterior placenta. I had one in my previous pregnancy but can't remember when I did as was 5 years ago and I can't look back at my notes as it's all changed to badger notes xx

GreenAventurine · 22/06/2023 21:58

Do we all have anterior placentas? 😂 I felt baby girl move from around 15 weeks, but she seems less busy now… maybe to do with the placenta and her getting bigger?

GreenAventurine · 22/06/2023 22:00

spanglesj · 19/06/2023 18:13

@GreenAventurine i have this buggy and it’s fab. I wanted one I could take into fields and woods and it’s fab for any terrain because of the wheel clearance - doesn’t get mud clogged. :) lots of mums I went walking with had to keep using a stick to unclog but not me x

fab! Is it green or black. As that would sway me 😂

Katiec1 · 23/06/2023 11:36

Thanks @Spareincoming and @spanglesj
I decided to give maternity unit a call this morning, they advised paracetamol and if it didn’t settle to go in and get checked, which I did.
Just finished in there now, so seems to be ligament pain 😩 unfortunately nothing they can do really. Advised paracetamol if needed, warm compress and rest when I can 🙈
Got a scan of the little girly too and everything looks perfect!
Also told placenta is away from the cervix, keeping all fingers crossed it stays that way!
Back in 2 weeks for anatomy scan!
Thanks again for the advice!

So had a midwife app , and I now know why I can't feel so many movements he has changed position , checked baby heartbeat/rate which was nice and his laying above my Pubic bone . So that was a peace of mind & been referred to physio too due to SPD xx

Meee!!! I take a nap now at lunchtime! I had a work meeting yesterday afternoon at 3pm and had to turn my camera off as I kept nodding off!

ExcitedandNervousC1 · 23/06/2023 16:46

@doozledog I'm so glad you said this! I haven't had any of the promised second trimester energy !! Constantly exhausted!

I'm 19+5 and have my big scan at 21+2 so can't wait!

Spareincoming · 23/06/2023 17:07

@Katiec1 glad you’ve had some reassurance even if it’s to be told you’re stuck with it! I think I have jinxed myself as side of my bump was feeling like it was about to start twinging this morning!

Hiya, I felt movement pretty early with each pregnancy so far, sporadically from 12 wks then more consistently from about 18 wks, anterior placenta in both. However mine is always a 'high' anterior placenta so I think that might make a difference?

LeeanneD11 · 23/06/2023 17:19

@amispeakingintongues

Ah ok hopefully not long then I haven't felt much movements due to where his laying as his laying so low down above my pubic bone lol 😂 so could explain it all xx

Definitely the pesky placenta in the way then! Congratulations xx
