Hello 😁

Is there a thread for babies due February 2024 yet? I've just got my positive, although super early so not getting too excited.

Due 1 Feb / 31 Jan. I had irregular periods so hard to pinpoint exactly.

Hope to have others join me soon :) x

@vvit because of my mental health I'm doing every 2 ish weeks - I know it's not ideal to go that much, but I also need to be able to function in my day to day life, and by knowing if I've had a missed miscarriage or not, the scans will allow me to do that. They are private, although the midwife was really understanding and did refer me to EPU for mental health, but I didn't hear back from them unfortunately. so I'll have scans at around 8 & 10 weeks, before NHS scan.

GeriatricMumma · 27/06/2023 11:46

I've got an NHS scan this week then will book one or two (depending on timing) privately before my next NHS scan.

There is absolutely no harm caused by having them and the peace of mind is very important.

So, following my gush of bright red bleeding on Sunday evening and ever since constant bright red spotting… I have just had a scan within the hour and there is a heartbeat, all in the right place, he thinks there WAS a hematoma, but that I’ve cleared it now and I’m just bleeding the rest of it out and it should stop soon as he can’t see anything wrong. He said I’m 7 weeks today which I’d calculated I was 7+1 today so no worries, but yes, wanted to give you an update and also try and stop those worrying who have something similar!

@Axc123 really pleased for you, must have been a relief to see the heartbeat

Rachae · 27/06/2023 12:44

@Axc123 what a relief!! Xx

Rachae · 27/06/2023 12:45

@GeriatricMumma quite agree! In my last pregnancy with my son, I had a scan every week first trimester. No harm at all and was so helpful for anxiety xx

GeriatricMumma · 27/06/2023 12:53

@Axc123 fantastic news!!

Axc123 · 27/06/2023 13:14

Such a relief, I was honestly in shock. I’ve walked around for the past 2 days like a zombie convinced it was over, such a lovely suprise. I think it would be nice if it were a regular thing for new mums to have a 7-8 week scan before the 12 week. It offers so much more reassurance.

AbsolutePlonker · 27/06/2023 15:08

I had my midwife booking appointment today. Really excited to hear I should have continuity of carer throughout my pregnancy this time - I didn't have that with my first!
It was very anticlimactic. I just want to know if everything's alright in there... Continuing the wait for my 12 week scan, which will be over a month away

MrsC2711 · 27/06/2023 16:13

Hi… can I join the party lol?
I had my coil removed early April and tested positive last Thursday and currently 5wks2days I believe.
I have an 8 year old with my previous partner and he was a very poorly little boy so I’m a bit nervous, as well as a lot older now haha!
hope everyone’s doing ok x

Hawk90 · 27/06/2023 16:23

I found out on 14th May, Valentines day due date :)

Had emergency scan on monday as had pink discharge and scan said everythings fine, so sick and feeling alot of pain and pressure down below.

I have a scan booked on 5th July too which i did previous to the other, going to keep it though as I'm so anxious.

How is everyone feeling? I have so many food aversions, constant nausea, exhausted and boobs are killing me.

Alicia777 · 27/06/2023 16:36

Hi🙂, what do you use?

Hawk90 · 27/06/2023 16:45

@Alicia777 for what? x

Nemo145 · 27/06/2023 18:06

Can I ask, does anyone have adenomyosis that they are aware of?
It hasn’t been mentioned in either of my early scans but I had a scan in January when I wasn’t pregnant which I’ve only just found out said “possible adenomyosis” so now that’s given me something else to freak out about and worry over as I believe it can cause miscarriages/ complications.

Nelliepledge · 27/06/2023 18:21

Hoping to join you mamas! Currently 5+4 with my first and tentatively excited after some brown discharge for a couple of days last week. All stopped now but hoping to get an early scan after I turn 6 weeks. Reassued to hear that some of you experienced the same and heart heartbeats afterwards. Sending positive vibes and hoping you're all feeling good!

Ebonythoughts · 27/06/2023 18:43

Exactly 8 weeks today and nausea has been kicking my butt for a week. Has anyone else been craving savoury/ salty snacks? I’ve been grazing on crackers, salt and vinegar crisps and apples with a squeeze of lime juice… seems to be the food I’m managing to keep down. Red meat and chicken 🤢 and although I loved pastries at the start of the pregnancy, I can’t bear to go near anything remotely greasy now.

Also can we talk about heighten (sometime irrational) sense of smell? I feel sick as the smell of the most random things, like what used to be my favourite perfume and the smell of the neighbours dog 😂 needless to say my husband thinks I’m losing my mind, and I may well be 🤷🏿‍♀️

AmyA64 · 27/06/2023 18:58

Fantastic news! I’m so pleased for you. And I agree, a 7/8 weeks scan as a routine would be so reassuring. 12 weeks feels like such a long time to wait!

Pastaf0rbreakfast · 27/06/2023 19:13

Hi all,

I’ve been reading the thread but feeling too rubbish to actually write anything.

7+3 today and been feeling incredibly nauseous for last 2 weeks, no sickness though and last time I was being sick 10-15 times a day by this point.

I am finding the antisickness wristbands really helpful, I didn’t use the last time so that might be a reason why I’m finding it better this time - although I still feel awful.

Craving lots of salty things here too @Ebonythoughts I’m also liking plain couscous with butter as it doesn’t really smell and is quite delicate on my tummy. Other than that, it’s just bites of things. Also struggling with extremely heightened sense of smell.

I have a scan Wednesday and have got my 12 week scan through for end of July. Can’t wait to be out of the first trimester.

Hope everyone is doing okay!

Golaz · 27/06/2023 19:23

@Pastaf0rbreakfast argh sorry you are feeling rubbish but good luck for your scan! That’s so exciting. Is it tomorrow or a week tomorrow?

im only 5+5 and being sick multiple times a day 😩😩😩. I’m hungry but also don’t want to eat. Oh the joys of pregnancy. I’m also still breastfeeding and my boobs are killing me.

Pastaf0rbreakfast · 27/06/2023 19:53

Thank you @Golaz my scan is actually Sunday, I have the dentist Wednesday 🤦‍♀️ baby brain in full swing 😂

I’m breastfeeding too and finding it very painful, how old is your babe? Mine is 22 months now and I’m really hoping to get to 2yrs but doing some gentle weaning now.

Oh my god yes! The sense of smell thing, mine is so heightened. Swear I can smell our kitchen bin just coming down the stairs, and can't walk near people smoking without wanting to vomit. Hate opening the fridge and especially hate the meat areas in supermarkets with all the marinades ready for BBQs, etc. I remember I struggled with the meat section in my last pregnancy and have to hold my breath to get through it 🤢 the heightened smell is deffo a contributing factor to worsening nausea and urge to vom.

Have just bought some anti-sickness wristbands, not sure how well working but also got some promethazine to go alongside my cyclizine, which I will only take at night though as it knocks me out.
For those getting anti-sickness don't forget to ask for an FP57 receipt and then at booking ask for your maternity exemption form to be backdated (can be up to a month) and then can claim back! I'm already £28 down due to anti-sickness meds at 8 weeks 😬

Ebonythoughts · 27/06/2023 20:44

@Pastaf0rbreakfast I might try the anti-sickness wristband and see if that helps. Hope the nausea eases for you and all the best with the scan! ❤️

@Ihatewinding glad it’s not just me about smell! I take out the kitchen bin 3 times a day even with little in it because the smell just gets me, and had to clean the fridge out today because i just hate it. zoflora is my friend at the moment. Thank you for the heads up about exemptions. I haven’t got anything for sickness yet and waiting to see my midwife on Friday first ❤️

Rachae · 28/06/2023 09:22

Morning everyone!

D day over here... scan at 11.30am. Looking to see if pregnancy has grown in line with expectations from the 6 week scan.

Still got super mixed feelings about it all and zero pregnancy symptoms. (That's more of an update tho, no symptoms doesn't concern me much as I never had any with my son!)
Xx

Nemo145 · 28/06/2023 09:30

@Rachae Good luck, hope you get positive news

moosey89 · 28/06/2023 09:38

Good luck @Rachae - keeping everything crossed for good news x
