Hello 😁

Is there a thread for babies due February 2024 yet? I've just got my positive, although super early so not getting too excited.

Due 1 Feb / 31 Jan. I had irregular periods so hard to pinpoint exactly.

Hope to have others join me soon :) x

@GeriatricMumma it's hard in the early days not to use them as reassurance isn't it! Especially when it's too early for a scan! It might be due to how diluted FMU is. I know with my DD I didn't get a 3+ for agesss

I know :(
Own worst enemy.

I had a 2-3, then went back to 1-2, then 2-3, then 3+ then back to 2-3

So frustrating as there is nothing we can do except wait anyway. I'm just wasting money and heart!

jamontoast2 · 24/06/2023 18:13

@Silverpixieflorence I didn’t get a dye stealer until about 7 weeks in all honestly. Nothing like the ones people post online early, but I had my blood HCG measured at my IVF clinic and they were always ok.

@mandolinemom I keep getting sciatica too. So far no bleeding and fine on the scan last week but really bad sciatica I’ve never had before. So hopefully a bit reassuring.

Is anyone else finding the bit at around 7-8 weeks a bit weird? My scan was fine last week but I’ve gotten used to my symptoms and sort of forgotten I’m pregnant and don’t really ‘feel’ it. I think I’m also still so anxious about losing them that maybe it’s a protective thing?

Ebonythoughts · 24/06/2023 18:34

Hi all,

Had a private scan today. Was meant to be next Saturday but they moved it forward when I called this morning to say I was concerned about some bleeding I’ve been having. Thankfully everything is ok and we got to see our baby at 7+3 weeks which is expected and heard the heartbeat. They said bleed was due to a tear in my cervix that hopefully should heal. Such a relief.

Soph2512 · 24/06/2023 19:06

Hi Girls, I just wanted to update you all. Unfortunately my bleeding got super heavy with clots this morning and I would say that we have lost our baby, which would be our miscarriage number 2.

does any of you know what I should be asking for my doctor to test for?

I hope you all have successful pregnancies ❤️

GeriatricMumma · 24/06/2023 19:26

So sorry @Soph2512

I'd get on to your GP and ask then to refer you for tests xx

Take some time to heal and be kind to yourself

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 24/06/2023 19:37

@Soph2512 I'm so so sorry. I don't know about the tests other than progesterone but I wonder if you could ask to speak to a fertility consultant about maybe taking baby aspirin or being prescribed progesterone for next time. I did the It Starts With the Egg plan and feel it made a difference, or at least made me feel in control a bit

Soph2512 · 24/06/2023 19:41

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 @GeriatricMumma thank you both for your kind words, I really do appreciate it.

I have a really busy week at work next week and then we are away at a hot tub lodge the week after so I’m going to take some time to heal and be with my DD and DP. ❤️ I think I’m also going to look into some counselling too.

I will defo ask about fertility test and progesterone, I’m unsure they will because I’m still feeding DD.

Ebonythoughts · 24/06/2023 21:45

@Soph2512 I’m so sorry for your loss. My sister just had a second miscarriage too and is also definitely considering some counselling. Sending positive energy your way x

mandolinemom · 25/06/2023 07:54

I am so sorry @Soph2512 💜

My brown discharge came back last night just before bed and then this morning too….I dont know if it is tmi, but I can literally feel it, however small, collect in there and I can see it only if I wipe really in and clean. Still gives me no peace of mind and has been an attitude shift…. Anyone else had this feeling? Does this discharge phase last long?

mashm24 · 25/06/2023 07:55

So sorry for your loss @Soph2512 Flowers❤️

Hi all, new here, and so pleased I found this group!! I Tested positive this week and working off my last period I’m 6+4, indicative due date of 16 Feb 2024. First pregnancy at 38. Other than some slight twinges and cramps (which I thought were period cramps!) I’ve had no other pregnancy symptoms, no nausea or sickness, no aversions or heightened sense of smell (that I’ve noticed anyway). Should I be worried? Anyone else not have any symptoms until later into first trimester?

Axc123 · 25/06/2023 13:12

@AmyA64 Hi! This is my 2nd pregnancy, I’m 6+6, no nausea/sickness/food aversions and also didn’t any of those with my now 10 year old. I am however very tired and need to stop throughout the day and yes the period like cramps. Are your boobs sore?
I think sometimes we will the symptoms to let us know we’re pregnant but some people don’t even know they’re pregnant until months in, so try not to stress too much x

Thank you @Axc123, very reassuring! I agree, I’m willing my body to let me know I’m pregnant ( can’t quite believe it even after 4 BFPs!) yes my boobs are a bit sore, and dare I say bigger already! I’m not too tired yet, but feel like I’m struggling more in the heat! Sending you lots of luck for a smooth pregnancy and a healthy baby!! x

Ihatewinding · 25/06/2023 13:50

Hey! Was on this thread earlier but was stressing a lot so came off for a bit. Had my private scan a couple of days ago that dated me a few days ahead, currently at 7+5 based off that. Have told my sisters now but still debating on when to tell others, whether wait for NIPT/12 week scan, etc.

Last pregnancy was during covid, so much easier as not having to hide the tiredness and vomiting and alcohol avoidance haha. Taking cyclizine regularly is helping a bit, going to ring GP for an alternative tomorrow to see if anything better in preparation as peaked 8-10 weeks last time.

Have had some cramping/stretching pains on and off, no bleeding this time around but quite bad what I assume is round ligament pain. Anyone else had sharp shooting pains when standing up or sneezing, etc? Can be either side or both at same time.

Sorry for those who have experienced losses Flowers

namechangerderanger · 25/06/2023 14:54

Congratulations @Ihatewinding I was also on this thread earlier but I've since name changed and can't remember what I was calling myself then haha

I'm 6+3 according to my app Flo. I haven't had those shooting pains you describe but have had cramps. How are you finding your pregnancies compare so far? So far I feel less tired but more sick. Although it's 5 years since my last pregnancy so I may have blocked it out. Ive had nausea on and off all week but today has been really bad.

namechangerderanger · 25/06/2023 14:56

Rachae · 25/06/2023 15:33

@Soph2512 I'm so sorry to hear this xxx I've had 5Mcs and I really recommend asking your doctor to refer you to Tommys organisation. At Mary's hospital in London works with them. I had all the NHS reoccurrent tests done and they found absolutely nothing. I travelled to St Mary's (still NHS but you need referring), and they found a uterine septum in my womb that needed removing, plus a blood clotting disorder that requires clexane from a positive pregnancy test. The consultant is Professor Lesley Regan. My best advice is push hard and don't wait... I could have kept trying forever but without the help I got, I'm sure I wouldn't have conceived my son last year.

Best of luck and lots of love xxx

Soph2512 · 25/06/2023 15:55

thank you all for your kind words.

@Rachae I will see if I can speak to them thank you xx

I've not actually worked out how to name change yet haha yeah I think I'm a few days behind LMP as ovulated late CD21 on testing but then pretty sure I implanted 6DPO due to pains. It's nice though as mean get midwife booking and 12 week scan on earlier side if go by LMP!

I'm with you on blocking previous pregnancy out, I vomited all the way until the end last time and don't know how I coped when was working full-time. Though I think I vomited more last time but that eased the nausea so generally spent less time nauseous over 24h, however not keen on that route again as left me with permanent reflux issues and destroyed my teeth. I recommend getting to GP sooner rather than later for meds and then take them regularly rather than just when feeling sick as been much more effective that way for me.

My SPD/PGP also didn't go away until 2 years postpartum and can feel it flaring up already 😭midwife will probs be a bit bemused when I request a physio referral at booking haha.

Tilly18101 · 25/06/2023 19:14

Sorry I’ve been missing again, I do read the thread but struggle to keep up with a 19m old and work!

@Soph2512 im so so sorry for your loss, as others have said lots of support out there with tommys and other groups. Sending lots of love to you.

I am struggling ladies, my nausea hits in the afternoon and it’s horrendous - I’m doing ok in the mornings and manage to troop on by come 1/2pm I’m completely wiped out and can’t stop the overwhelming nausea feeling but haven’t been sick - it’s horrible. Think I’d rather just be sick and get it over with.

I’ve my booking in apt this week at the hospital but a bit of a nightmare with work as they now want me in if the morning for a meeting but my hospital is over an hour from my office so I’m super nervous about being stressed to get there as I can’t tell work what it is yet! (We are mid pay review so no way am I compromising myself with this news)

Welcome to everyone new looks like quite a few of us now! X

Ebonythoughts · 26/06/2023 01:36

Hi @Tilly18101 nausea has been affecting me pretty badly for the last couple of days too, today was the worst. I have just been sipping cold water with a squeeze of lime. Haven’t been able to bring myself to eat anything all day. Ginger biscuits helped yesterday but not today. Hoping it subsides soon.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 26/06/2023 06:57

@Tilly18101 and @Ebonythoughts having nausea here and I'm getting really concerned with work and how to cope. Last time I don't remember it being as bad at this point, but it's also so hot at the moment and last time I didn't have a toddler getting up early and racing about everywhere. It's just harder to get rest time maybe and tiredness makes it worse?

Rachae · 26/06/2023 09:05

Morning everyone, how are we feeling?
Still no major symptoms here at 9 weeks/ 8 weeks scan corrected. Definitely feeling more bloated tho and I think I'm going to have to tell family after this week's scan as it's obvious!

Had my midwife booking app on Friday and that made things v real. Let's see what the scan says on Wednesday. Still very mixed feelings about having a second baby 🫣 xx

Ebonythoughts · 26/06/2023 09:19

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 ah I can imagine. This is my first so I’m just anxious about the nausea but resting when I can. Having a toddler and working must be difficult. Can you take some time off until you make a plan with you support system or create some kind of new routine to try and build in rest? I work for myself so I’m having to cut down my working hours to just 4 hours as day because I’m too exhausted to do more than that at the moment.

Axc123 · 26/06/2023 09:46

Hey guys, so I experienced some bleeding yesterday. Very light spotting and I thought because I’d had sex the night before it was normal and I’d read it’s very very common. It was so light I thought nothing of it. Then towards the evening, I went to the toilet and it streamed out of me, I was full of fear. It’s very strange because it then went to spotting and now it’s stopped all together. Nothing on a pad, only when I wipe, I’ve spoken with healthcare and I have a scan tomorrow but I’m expecting the worst. I haven’t had cramping or anything. I never had sickness anyway, but my boobs are still sore so my symptoms are the same. Really upsetting 😩
