Hello 😁

Is there a thread for babies due February 2024 yet? I've just got my positive, although super early so not getting too excited.

Due 1 Feb / 31 Jan. I had irregular periods so hard to pinpoint exactly.

Hope to have others join me soon :) x

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 we borrowed a stack of reusable nappies from a friend and the Bambino Mio duo ones worked well for us so we are using those in the daytime now. The all in ones all leaked for DD. Like you though, we use a disposable overnight as can’t get enough absorbency in the reusables. It’s great to cut down maybe 80% of the waste anyway!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 20/06/2023 09:40

@KittyKat1989 I know it is! It's a lot less faff than I though it would be - maybe 3 loads of washing in this heat. My 16 month old is starting on the potty so I'm hopefully he'll be out of nappies in a bit anyway 🤞 but he's 50/50 telling us when he's already going so it may be a bit longer 😅

Axc123 · 20/06/2023 09:43

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yeah, I seem to be having a few naps a day and still wanting an early night.

@KittyKat1989 were they understanding of you when you told them so early? I work in a small business, I basically lead on the whole HR, accounts and payroll, my boss is never very understanding of anything and im dreading telling him about it just for the mat leave, let alone this early! He’ll see me as causing problems!

Golaz · 20/06/2023 09:47

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 thank you! Actually I’m finding the island trip a bit claustrophobic and exhausting - travelling with two toddlers is a challenge 😅.
Two under two for you! 😱 That will also be a challenge 😁🫣
@KittyKat1989 i also use reusables. I find the best brand is motherease superdry. The all in ones work well and don’t leak. Really hard to get in the uk though..

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 20/06/2023 10:06

@Axc123 sounds tough. I don't know, on the days I'm working from home I'm sleeping in my lunch and still unable to make it up much past eight. However maybe ask your midwife if you literally can't stay awake? You could have low iron or something this time around and benefit from supplements or something - something they can help with.

I'm dreading the sickness I found it so hard to work with that and I'm in london and so travelling in crowded with lots of people so that's awful too. I don't like to tell work before about 16 weeks so I'll try my best to hide it again.

@Golaz it sounds wonderful but yes two toddlers must be tough! Do they have some nannies there or childcare? Hopefully they do so you can get a little respite

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 20/06/2023 10:07

@Golaz I'll try those motherease thanks for the recommendation!

sludgefactory · 20/06/2023 10:16

Hello! Can I join too? I tested positive on Sunday (12dpo) and based on my last period, I'm due 25th Feb! I'm 32 and we'd been trying for 2.5 years to fall with no luck, we'd just been put on the waiting list for IVF so I can't quite believe this has happened!

Axc123 · 20/06/2023 12:44

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I'm coping, it’s not stopping me doing the general stuff, ie, cleaning, taking my son to school, cooking and walking my dog etc. it’s hard to hide because I haven’t told a soul, I’m on my own at home and I also can’t get through to the doctors which is terrible, which means I haven’t spoken to a midwife! I’ve purchased my own pregnancy tablets with the iron and folic acid. It’s just when it hits, i feel like a sack of potatoes!

from everything I’ve read, it’s very normal, it’s just a shock to the system! I haven’t had any sickness which is good though!

Golaz · 20/06/2023 12:48

Aww @sludgefactory that’s amazing! Huge congratulations 🎉

LalalaBubs · 20/06/2023 14:26

Might be a bit of an early question but has anyone done the SneakPeek gender test before?
I caved today and have sent away my sample!

Already have a 3yr old girl and 18mnth old boy. All I care about is a healthy baby either way but I can't say I wouldn't love to have another wee girl🥰

Danni33 · 20/06/2023 16:17

Ooh what’s this? I have never heard of the sneak peek gender reveal before now.
How far do you have to be for this also?

Danni33 · 20/06/2023 16:17

Congratulations 🥰

babyD20 · 20/06/2023 17:24

Had anyone had experience with symptoms not being consistent. I've been so nauseous up until today but today it seems to have gone. I'm 7+1 and now panicking.
Thank youuu xx Bear

Rachae · 20/06/2023 18:22

Hello from Centre Parcs! Highly recommend this place for all you mummies to me. My 11 month Austin is having a whale of a time and it's soooo easy with a baby! It's our 3rd visit in 4 months 🤣
@Soph2512 Sorry to hear about the confusing times for you, hoping you get a solid answer soon 🙏

Xx

mashm24 · 20/06/2023 18:47

Is anybody suffering from bloating? I'm 8 weeks today and just feel so miserable from feeling so bloated and full all the time. I've been off work for a few days because I just feel so miserable with exhaustion, no appetite etc. almost like having the flu :(

LalalaBubs · 20/06/2023 19:05

@Danni33 So the website said anytime from 6 weeks on! Its a blood test (from a finger prick) that can check the fetal DNA.
Since I sent the test away this afternoon I've read that they can be quite prone to contamination though so a 'boy' result can be false

I think whatever the results I'll just take it as a bit of fun to compare to the anatomy scan later down the line haha! X

Rachae · 20/06/2023 19:20

@LalalaBubs everyone I know who's done this test got an accurate result! I've decided to do a NIPT so I'll find out that way xx

vvit · 20/06/2023 19:26

@LalalaBubs we did it with our son at 7weeks, and he was a boy!
I don't think I would do it now just because after mc I wouldn't want to attach myself even more and give a hope, so would wait for at least 12 weeks

Danni33 · 20/06/2023 19:31

Thank you 😊
I might look into this then, or I might wait until just after 12 weeks and book a 4d scan and see if they can check then.
im so excited and nervous at the same time. It’s our first and I can’t wait.

LalalaBubs · 20/06/2023 19:43

@Rachae Thats so lovely! The first positive thing I've heard haha. Hope you're doing well! X

@vvit i completely understand that point of view as well ❤️

@Danni33 Huge congratulations, praying everyrhing goes so smoothly for you!

xoxogossipmum · 20/06/2023 20:43

Hello everyone, we went for our early scan today and we saw a little fluttering heartbeat which made it seem all so much more real 🥹. I thought I was 7 weeks today but baby is actually measuring at 7wk6days so we are further along than expected!

@mashm24 yes I'm suffering from bloating, loss of appetite, nausea and I wake up tired and stay tired throughout the day so I really sympathise. I hope you start to feel better soon, I've had to start napping in my lunch break 🤭.

@LalalaBubs if you don't mind me asking, how much does it cost to do a sneak peak? It's our first and I'm absolutely certain we are having a little girl for some reason. Do you have any suspicions?

mashm24 · 20/06/2023 20:49

@xoxogossipmum thank you. Awww that's wonderful news :-) pleased for you🩷💙 and a little added bonus that you're further along. X

Hi everyone :) congrats to all of you! Can I join? Just found out I’m pregnant, looks like I’m due 26th Feb. This will be my second child, I also have an 11 month old.

Danni33 · 20/06/2023 21:36

Yes! I have! At first I felt nauseous, extremely tired, bloated and constipated.
now I’m still tired but not as much. I think I needed the vitamins though tbh for that one. Also, the nausea seems to have eased off so much thankfully!

4D scans aren’t usually available until late in to the 20 weeks but you can get a gender scan from 16 weeks privately.
