Hello 😁

Is there a thread for babies due February 2024 yet? I've just got my positive, although super early so not getting too excited.

Due 1 Feb / 31 Jan. I had irregular periods so hard to pinpoint exactly.

Hope to have others join me soon :) x

@Janeykat wow 20 weeks, surely not!!? Don't they need to do all the tests at 12 weeks before baby gets too big to measure etc? Xx

@summerfinn congratulations! I turned 38 this month but I'm a little earlier in the parenting game than you ... Got an 11 month old currently 😊 xx

Thanks. I'm still in shock to be honest. I thought I had a virus or something the last few weeks as felt awful. I can't imagine having two small kids and a teenager. It's all abit daunting 🙈DP is delighted. He is 45 but has more energy than me at the best of times.

How is everyone feeling? These first few weeks are quite strange, i keep forgetting im pregnant 😅had my first GP apt today (in Ireland) at 5+5 and was told i may not get a scan or meet with hospital/midwife until 20 weeks😲 so will definitely be booking a private one before that, theres no way I can wait that long.

I'm in Ireland too and always found it so worrying that you only got a scan at 20 weeks. I paid to go privately and had scans before that last time . But this time around I can't face going public at all so I'm having the whole thing private. If you have health insurance it may be an option for you?

Hey everyone, gosh sorry to pop up again!

Rollercoaster once more. I got scanned today at another (better) hospital and they saw a yolk sac, fetal pole and heartbeat. So I was essentially misdiagnosed a miscarriage yesterday and I'm pretty relieved to have not taken the medical management.

I'm dated a week behind, which can either mean I ovulated late - which I think I did... Or it's slow to progress. Time will tell and next scan is 2 weeks time.

So for now... Im back and I'm in shock! Xx

Lovely news, really pleased for you! What a journey though, I bet you're mentally exhausted 😅

Janeykat · 14/06/2023 21:14

@mashm24 yes i thought that too re. the tests🤔 its very strange, I got a 12 week scan in my last pregnancy in the same hospital, I dont know why its changed.

@summerfinn yes I think I will book a 9 week private scan for resurrance, and probably also a 12 week one if the hospital wont do it. Dont have health insurance unfortunately so private isnt really an option.

KimberleyJ · 14/06/2023 21:44

Hello!! I just tested positive today with due date approx February 17th 2024.

First time mum at 35, wish me luck! lol 🤞🏻

I found this thread and thought it would be great to be surrounded by people going through an similar experience/timeline.

Whippetmother · 15/06/2023 00:08

@Rachae what a rollercoaster. I hope you’re doing ok and as you say, thank goodness you didn’t take the medical management. So sorry you were misdiagnosed. Will keep all crossed for smooth sailing here on in for you x

@summerfinn 37 too and first time :) x

vvit · 15/06/2023 08:12

5+3 - no symptoms here, had some for the first 4 days and now nothing, after mc now feeling so anxious and sad every morning. Got my scan in a week but still a whole week to wait 😭 wish I would be sick and feel horrible instead of this :(

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 15/06/2023 09:48

@vvit I'm the same, feel okay, and wondering why. It's so nerve wracking being pregnant after a miscarriage

Cheetocat · 15/06/2023 11:07

I just got a bfp yesterday morning at 4am and as soon as it was a reasonable hour I ran to Boots and got a clearblue weeks indicator test. It says 2 - 3 weeks. 😊 I'm 4w2d along today and absolutely terrified. I had a very traumatic mmc last year at 11 weeks and have had no other pregnancies. I'm having some cramps which I'm sure is normal but last time I didn't find out until I was already six weeks along which got me over the hump of it being extremely early. Anyone else in a similar situation?

Tilly18101 · 15/06/2023 13:48

@Rachae so glad to read this news!

Been a few days since I’ve had chance to pop on here, toddler life and work doesn’t leave much time left at the end of the day.

welcome to everyone joining looks like quite a few of us now. Loving seeing all the early scans, I’ve got my booking in apt for 28th June now so I’ll be 8w4 days then, and hoping to get a private scan on 30th June around work if I can without them knowing.

Blisax · 15/06/2023 14:23

Just wanted to jump on & say I'm so happy to hear you've got good news @Rachae! That's amazing ❤️
Congratulations to you all💖

Paperboats · 15/06/2023 14:26

Hi @Cheetocat I just wanted to say I have a slightly similar situation - second pregnancy after an MMC (at 12 weeks in Feb) and no living children. I am 4+2 and only tested with a FRER so far but I have bought some of the clearblue ones. I am also having cramps this time round and didn't last time, and I also had some spotting yesterday, really light, but that didn't happen last time until before my MC. Trying not to over think it!

Rachae · 15/06/2023 17:18

Aww thank you @Blisax xxx

Thanks @Tilly18101 booking appointment is ab exciting development!

For those mentioning symptoms.. honestly don't worry! 30% of us don't get them at all. I never did in my last pregnancy and have nothing at measuring 6 weeks on the scan. Maybe a mild craving for steak crisps?! That's it! Xx

jamontoast2 · 15/06/2023 17:28

Had my scan today, I was so nervous but we saw a perfect little bean in the right place with a good strong heart beat. Quite surreal to be discharged from my IVF clinic onto obstetric care after so long. We’ve been seeing them for 2 years now! They recommended the harmony test - not sure if anyone else will be getting that?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 15/06/2023 18:02

@jamontoast2 that's lovely news!!
I had the harmony last time and will get it again this time. It's expensive but to me was so worth it. We had an issue later on with a growth scan, and because I had the Harmony they ruled out a lot of things. I was so grateful to have had it

Rachae · 15/06/2023 19:50

@jamontoast2 congratulations! Brilliant news!
I'm not sure on the harmony test personally... as the way I understand it, it's just a report on odds of things. A bit more in depth than the NHS screening.
So I wondered if I'd end up in the same place anyway... what do you do with odds? Say it's 1/50 or 1/10- what decision does that influence? Would you get the amino and if so, what's your lowest 'odds' to get it? If you wouldn't get the amnio... what's the point in paying for the harmony? That's my thought process.

(We're just going straight to the amnio, as we have our son to think of as we're both late 30ths, so have to know) xx

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 15/06/2023 20:54

@Rachae it analyses the free dna of the baby, and gives high risk or low risk results. Low risk is 1/10,000. I got that after a 1/550 result on the combined test. I was mid to late 30s, and that put my mind at rest. The nhs doctors and fetal medicine unit were v happy I'd had it when the long bones were measuring behind the stomach and abdomen, as they instantly ruled out any trisonomies.

Rachae · 15/06/2023 20:57

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 Thanks for sharing! It's a tough one as I still don't fully understand how I'd make a decision based on odds. I feel like we need absolute certainty that no Edwards or pataou (spent wrong!) Syndrome... rather than finding out at 20 weeks+ So even if it was 1/10,000 I'd still think - that could be me!
( I had 5 miscarriages so I think that put me in the 0.02% or something silly like that!) Xx

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 16/06/2023 07:40

I have just tested positive for coronavirus, and now feeling so worried with the increased risks of miscarriages and complications. Does anyone know what I should be doing? I might call the EPU later and ask also

jamontoast2 · 16/06/2023 10:38

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 ah bless you, of course you’re worried. The main thing is avoiding a fever where possible so I would be really on it with your paracetamol and take it regularly 1g 4xday (always at least 4hrs apart) to get ahead of any fevers. It’s totally safe in pregnancy. Otherwise the usual of rest, lots of fluids etc. But remember our little embryos are tougher than you may think.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 16/06/2023 11:53

@jamontoast2 thanks for the advice, I'll try to be on the fever

@Rachae sorry I just read you had five miscarriages - I'm so sorry. No wonder you want some certainty

Rachae · 16/06/2023 13:15

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 argh the dreaded Covid! I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine baby wise... but hope the symptoms aren't too tough on you xxx

Soph2512 · 16/06/2023 15:19
