@DaisyMay25 thank you!

If you’re close to your mum I’d definitely tell her - it’ll be nice to tell her in person at a party, and by 10 weeks I don’t think there’s loads more risk than 12 weeks if you’ve been scanned.

smldnlove · 20/05/2023 18:47

@DaisyMay25 That would be a lovely way to tell her! I’d do it for her birthday, she’d be over the moon. I told mine at about 5 weeks but really depends how you feel.

I’ve got to the point where I’m finding it so isolating and I just want to tell people so I feel less like an alien! we have told about 5 people now but 9 weeks feels like a substantial enough time…but really just have no idea! Wonder if people will be surprised we are telling them so early?

Charlielechat · 20/05/2023 20:07

So delighted for you @Mushroo ! 😊 I think I'm also 8 weeks today based on my last scan! Twins lol!

45mummy · 20/05/2023 20:09

Twins! Congratulations, that must have been a crazy surprise!

Charlielechat · 20/05/2023 20:13

Oh I meant we're twins because of the due date 😂

45mummy · 20/05/2023 20:17

Oh, silly me! Sorry lol

Mushroo · 20/05/2023 20:22

@Charlielechat ah nice! Good to have someone the same dates!

(Was relieved it wasn’t twin news today, not sure I could have coped! 😂)

Justanothercyster · 21/05/2023 09:26

@Mummy1502 nooo, 9 weeks is when your symptoms peak, but good news is for most they tend to ease off in a few weeks.

@bookbathnap it's very hard isn't it. Ask for a referral to perinatal mental health if it gets on top of you, they've referred me and I think it's worth the extra support

@Mushroo yay!

@Justanothercyster thank you, yes already been referred to them but not heard anything yet. Suppose it’s still too early. It was comforting that my midwife took it so seriously and referred me straight away. Wishing you all the best 😊

DaisyMay25 · 21/05/2023 09:33

@Justanothercyster yea they told me 9-10 weeks is peak, I'm 8+5 and they're really ramping up, not sure how I'm going to cope

Charlielechat · 21/05/2023 10:01

My nausea and sore boobs have gone the last the two days. I'm starting to get paranoid 😞 Glad I have a scan booked for this week. Really hope everything is OK

Itonlytakesaminute · 21/05/2023 10:05

Any recommendations for sleep and to stay asleep?
im 11 weeks now and no issue getting to sleep but I wake up nearly every hour to wee or just lie there.
I am exhausted

Mushroo · 21/05/2023 10:44

@Charlielechat ive felt better this week as well, boobs are definitely less sore.

It’ll be fine I’m sure - I keep telling myself they can’t just keep indefinitely getting worse and your body adjusts to the hormone levels

midnights0 · 21/05/2023 11:48

@Charlielechat same! I had my scan at 8 weeks on Thursday, woke up the next morning with no symptoms at all, 3 days having no symptoms and I am in a state of panic even though I seen the HB 3 days ago 🫣

smldnlove · 21/05/2023 12:13

@Charlielechat My nausea has cooled off now, 9 weeks tomorrow. It’s been awful the past 3 weeks though. Wondering the same. I did a pregnancy test yesterday and was an immediate dark line but unsure if that would say anything different?!

Booking another scan this week too!

Charlielechat · 21/05/2023 12:47

@Mushroo @midnights0 hopefully it's just an 8 week thing then 🤞 Will be panicking now until the scan!

Justanothercyster · 21/05/2023 13:08

@bookbathnap yeah they're much better with the referrals now, it's really good, hope your MH calms down and gives you a break soon x

@DaisyMay25 if it helps, I think mine are just starting to calm down now, I think they were a bit early and didn't get the memo 🫣 although I've been taking the anti sickness first thing when I wake up so I can't really tell what I'd be like without it. So hopefully not too long for you.

DaisyMay25 · 21/05/2023 13:23

@Justanothercyster how many weeks are you now? I need some light at the end of the tunnel! 😂

I've started to need naps now too, counting down til the second trimester now

Charlielechat · 21/05/2023 14:43

Sorry @smldnlove I missed your comment! I'm too scared to do a test in case it has the hook effect and is faint 🙈 It's reassuring that lots of other people have had the same and it's been ok, so hoping it will be good news this week 🙏

99SR · 21/05/2023 14:50

@Charlielechat ive felt the exact same! I think a few others have felt like that on here too. They do say the placenta begins to take over from week 9/10 so maybe that’s it. When is your scan? I’ve booked another one for this week too x

Charlielechat · 21/05/2023 15:30

I've booked my scan for Wednesday when I'll be 8+4. My last one was 6+6 but they measured me at 6+3 so I'm hoping little bean is growing ok!
How far along will you be at yours?

Sairrrxx · 21/05/2023 15:34

Hi all, hope you don't mind me joining!

Hope everyone's doing okay so far!

This is my 2nd prenancy, currently 10+2 estimated due date 15th December, haven't been for any private scans this time around and we also haven't told a sole about this pregnancy yet, so I'm so eager to get my 12 week scan letter 😬
Yesterday and today I've had brownish discharge and been worrying myself sick! Praying everything okay! I had it with my 1st but a bit earlier on
xx

Clucket87 · 21/05/2023 17:33

I feel like rubbish today.
I feel sick but I also have a cold so I'm feeling very sorry for myself.
8 weeks today and I am starting to wish away the next 5 weeks to get into the 2nd trimester. 😢 x

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 21/05/2023 18:06

If it makes you feel better I'm 12+5 now, good scan on Friday. Yesterday I could barely eat, threw up down the city high street in a drain (#classy). Today I feel good and am eating normally. Some days I'm in between. 6 weeks on the dot I was ill all day every day. It's been rotating through with better days since I hit 11 weeks. It's awful because you don't enjoy the good days wondering if something bad happened 🙈.

RG84 · 21/05/2023 19:07

@Clucket87 @FlyingHighFlyingLow
I know how you both feel. And I hope the morning sickness feels better.
I am 10 weeks this coming Friday and I haven't had any morning sickness so also makes me feel like is everything okay. Having said that, my daughter is turning 3 next month and with her too I didn't get morning sickness through the pregnancy. Still can't help feel is everything okay though.
