My gums started bleeding today! I was just sat at a cafe (hadn’t eaten or drank yet and DH pointed it out!) So scary.

Ive always had no problems with my teeth and now I’m scared they’re all going to fall out. Stocking up on mouthwash….

midnights0 · 11/06/2023 18:03

Hey everyone, I’m currently 11+4 and have had brown discharge/blood and some small clots since yesterday, granted it’s not huge amounts and only when I wipe, I’ve had pads on and nothing really is going on there but I’m still so worried, been crying all day. I spoke to a midwife yesterday who was lovely but not concerned, and said she’d take my details for EPU to ring me tomorrow, but they may not scan me cos no pain or red blood. I’ve booked myself in a private scan tomorrow at 10am, I’m so scared and convinced myself that I’ve lost my baby. I had a scan at 8 weeks and all was okay. I can’t help but think the worst 😭

Charlielechat · 11/06/2023 18:37

@midnights0 That must've been scary for you. It sounds like it's happened a lot of people in this thread and all was fine. But at least you have a scan tomorrow for reassurance!

@Mushroo I had the dentist this week and my gums bled a lot then. My appointment was completely free too even though I hadn't filled in the matEx form yet! You should get booked in to make the most of the free dental care

Mushroo · 11/06/2023 18:59

@midnights0 how scary! Reassuring it’s quite light though, hopefully the scan will all turn out ok.

@Charlielechat that’s a good shout - I’ll give them a ring and see if I can move my check up a bit earlier.

smldnlove · 12/06/2023 08:07

@Charlielechat That is amazing! Is it just NHS dentists that cover this free? I imagine so? I kind of knew about this but didn’t know it actually happened if that makes sense ha!

@midnights0 Good luck with your scan today, am sure everything is just fine! Let us know how it goes. X

Mushroo · 12/06/2023 11:47

Is anyone else thinking today our timings are great? I could not imagine being heavily pregnant / having to give birth in this weather!

So glad when I’m huge I can just wear leggings and a giant jumper and mope around the house.

Good luck to anyone having scans today x

17caterpillars1mouse · 12/06/2023 11:48

Is anyone else really struggling atm?

My hay-fever is awful and making me wheeze, as well as a sore nose, itchy throat and sore eyes.

I am just so over feeling sick every time I eat or drink anything and I've started throwing up again in the mornings.

And now I have a mega headache that I went to bed with and woke up with (probably due to dehydration since I dread drinking as it starts off the feeling sick again).

And I feel exhausted an uncomfortable with the heat.

I'm feeling very Wednesday's child today

midnights0 · 12/06/2023 11:50

Unfortunately my worst fears were confirmed, a missed misscarriage, I should be 12 weeks tomorrow, baby’s heart stopped at 8 weeks 3 days. My heart is broken. I’m going down the hospital tomorrow. I’m signing off this thread, wish you all the best ❤️

Mushroo · 12/06/2023 11:51

@17caterpillars1mouse two very different reactions between us to the weather 😂

Sorry you’re feeling so rubbish, I’ve holed up in a cool room with ice water on tap. Can you spend the day not doing much? (Appreciate that might not be possible!)

Mushroo · 12/06/2023 11:52

@midnights0 Im so so sorry to hear that. Awful news.

Look after yourself - thinking of you x

Pitstop1986 · 12/06/2023 13:00

@midnights0 I'm so sorry to hear this. I can't imagine how you are feeling right now. Take care of yourself. If you need a vent or to get anything off your chest, we're all here for you. Thinking of you xx

99SR · 12/06/2023 13:09

@midnights0 im so sorry to hear this. Sending so much love x

Oldermum84 · 12/06/2023 13:20

@midnights0 so sorry to hear your bad news. How awful. Thinking of you xx

Oldermum84 · 12/06/2023 13:22

@17caterpillars1mouse I'm feeling awful too. Am now 15 weeks and still nauseous and exhausted. The weather is making me more tired. Did the food shop with my 3 year old this morning and it's totally wiped me out, now about to start work this afternoon.

SMG1992 · 12/06/2023 13:42

Agree I'm glad I won't be heavily pregnant when it's hot.
I am struggling with the heat more than usual already - lightheaded, headache and racing pulse
I also had a bout of midday sickness and was even sick again yesterday at 13+4! I'm very ready for the 2nd trimester energy to show it's face.
I've been a bit busy lately though so need to slow down a little bit

ThomasinaLivesHere · 12/06/2023 14:14

@midnights0 So sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself. All the best for the future.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 12/06/2023 14:21

I’ve been thinking of summer vs winter baby and the pros and cons. I had a summer baby first time and definitely agree it’s not fun to be hot and sweaty when you’re that far along and I’m not someone who likes to show off bump so glad I get to wrap up. There are cons too though but I’ll just focus on the positives!

17caterpillars1mouse · 12/06/2023 14:35

Breastfeeding in the summer is not fun, whereas heat wasn't an issue with my last December born baby lol.

Dd1 was born in a heatwave and we were stick in the stuffy hospital for a few nights so that wasn't fun.

But then dark mornings and newborn sleep when you have a school run to do hmm and walks in the cold and rain to get baby to sleep.

There are pros and cons for both

Charlielechat · 12/06/2023 15:29

@midnights0 I'm so sorry this happened you 😞 Wishing you all the best 💕

Charlielechat · 12/06/2023 15:34

Some people say "I wouldn't like having a baby in the winter when it's so cold and dark" but my thinking is we'll barely be sleeping so won't know if it's day or night anyway 🤪 Plus we'll be more mobile and (hopefully in a routine) by spring time which will be a nice time to enjoy maternity!

Charlielechat · 12/06/2023 15:45

@smldnlove I'm not 100% sure, my dentist is a mixture of private and NHS patients so I think it might be any dentist?

Mushroo · 12/06/2023 15:47

@Charlielechat i think this - the timing means hopefully I’ll be a bit more out together by the time the sun makes an appearance!

I will admit though I’m very jealous of those with an early December due date, I’d love for the baby to arrive before Xmas, but with a first baby with a due date of 30 Dec it’s not looking likely! Fingers crossed I can have that glass of champagne New Year’s Eve.

Clucket87 · 12/06/2023 15:58

What is everybody drinking at the moment?
I'm usually a Diet Coke fiend but even the thought of it turns my stomach at the moment.
I'm sick to death of squash.
I've have some chocolate milk (I'm not really a milk person so this is a big plus for me).
I don't do hot drinks either.
Any suggestions would be most welcome. I found a crate of Strongbow upstairs and the idea of an ice cold cider is so appealing! X

At the top by the name of the group, there should be an arrow.
Click on that and it should give you a choice to unfollow.
