Very exciting now and definitely feel like a weight has been lifted now the secret is out. (... And I'm no longer having to hide all the sickness!)

Georgia31 · 08/06/2023 10:07

Morning lovelies,
Loving all the updates of everyone's scans and little Leech updates.

Did anyone have disappearing symptoms of breast tenderness around week 11 with cramps in the lower back and both sides of the belly?

SMG1992 · 08/06/2023 11:33

@NoodleQueen90 me too, second trimester as of yesterday and it's so nice being able to tell people.
I feel much better now the secret is out!

I do feel like I need to get a list together and start organising things, it's a bit overwhelming how much there is to do!

Dancingqueen91 · 08/06/2023 12:03

Hey guys

loving all the scan updates so so amazing to see and hear ❤️

how long after your dating appointments did you get scan appointment letters ? I will be 11 weeks this weekend and not heard anything just yet (I presume that’s normal)

Beans1982 · 08/06/2023 12:48

@SMG1992 Thanks for the welcome and congrats to you too!

@Nclktnntt it's going to be a fun NYE for us!

Thanks, both for sharing your experience. I've been experiencing similar symptoms and thought a couple of days ago that my nausea/vomiting was nearing an end...unfortunately, it returned last night with heartburn. So far today I've been feeling sick/gaging.

I find if I try to avoid greasy or fatty foods and eat regularly (like once an hour) I'm okay. Breakfast bars are a good call! I might try some as I find I've been okay with shredded wheat as an evening snack.

12-week scan coming up on 21 June, when I'll be 12+5.

@wannabemum38 Fingers crossed your tests all come back looking good for you. Before I fell pregnant I read so many articles that were on the negative side of being pregnant late 30's and 40's it almost got me to the point where I thought I'd never get pregnant. But then I started to read some of the posts on Mumsnet and it really gave me hope!

Wishing you all the best of luck with the rest of your pregnancies xxx

NoodleQueen90 · 08/06/2023 14:54

@SMG1992 yes I'm the same, have a lot to do. We need to get the baby's bedroom plastered and decorated, it's the only room in the house that hasn't been done. Aware they won't even be in it for 6 months but tradesmen are like hens teeth at the moment so I better at least look for a plasterer!
I've tried to start looking at prams, car seats etc a few times online and just felt totally overwhelmed...I'm going to actually go to the pram centre and pick them out in person, probably in the next month or so incase there's a wait.

Magicbean5 · 08/06/2023 19:52

Good evening! After a quick read I can see some of you had scans today too! Mine went very well and a very hyper baby meant that I'm going to get a rescan just so they can 'tick off' a solid measurement. For now I'm dated for Christmas day! Be consultant led due to thyroidectomy but other than that, feeling alot more content. Hugs to everyone xxx

@Georgia31
my symptoms have definitely eased. And I’ve had cramp like pains in my tummy for a few days now. Asked the midwife about it at my 12 week scan and she said not to worry aslong as I’m not bleeding, could be round ligament pain or could be some sort of pelvic pain. Such a worry though isn’t it!

I'm so glad your scan went well and you're doing OK. It really is such a worry, I've not got my booking in appointment until next Friday when I'll be 12.5. The worry is so real, I've never had a day off work sick since I started 3 years ago, and yesterday I was in so much discomfort I had to leave early.

When's your due date? Other than the cramps, how have you been?

wannabemum38 · 08/06/2023 23:25

@99SR I've had cramps today just under my little bump I'm hoping it's just uterus stretching but every twinge and pain gets me so anxious.
Looks like my itching down below is actually a nice little hemorrhoid oh the joy and sexiness of it all!

NoodleQueen90 · 09/06/2023 06:56

Anyone else getting nosebleeds? I've had one every night for 3 nights in a row 🙄 then woke at 4:30 this morning and could feel the blood running down my throat. Sat up and it was like a river...OH got such a fright 😂 hoping they stop though! Away to buy boxes of tissues for every room!

Nclktnntt · 09/06/2023 09:03

Hi @NoodleQueen90

I just had a quick look on the NHS site which says it is normal during pregnancy due to the higher blood flow etc however it seems excessive to me so I would speak with your midwife or doctor and get checked out to be sure.

Here's the part I read www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/related-conditions/common-symptoms/nosebleeds/

It doesn't say from how far through or when to speak with anyone just if you're concerned but to me daily (and at night so risky too) is a lot. I don't get nose bleeds ever though so to me a lot is more than once occasionally. My husband gets them easily - usually when at higher altitudes or when he's really hot. I know it's something to do with blood pressure, but not sure to what extent and what would be a cause for concern.

Best to get checked I think.

Clucket87 · 09/06/2023 09:09

I'm feeling fed up today.
So a couple of weeks ago I had a pep talk because I was full of cold.
I'm now 4 weeks in and I still have a sore throat and I am coughing. I always have things linger but this as well as feeing sick has been a lot.
And to add icing to the cake, I now have conjunctivitis. I've managed to get an appointment for later today (I did mention that I'm pregnant) but I'm so sick of feeling poorly now.
I said to my husband at 5.50am after ungluing both of my eyes, that this is our last pregnancy as I can't go through all of this ever again.
I know I'm being dramatic but I just want to feel healthy or at the very least, semi normal (I was never completely normal lol) 😔

Mushroo · 09/06/2023 09:18

Another moan to add to the list, I feel huge today! I think I’m being paranoid because we’re out for dinner with the in-laws this evening (and not telling them until after my 12 week scan next week) but honestly I think you can tell.

My DHs response was ‘no, you’re fine, you’ve always had a little belly!’ which didn’t go down well 😂

RG84 · 09/06/2023 10:07

Morning ladies, happy Friday! been a little quite this week, work has been hectic!

I'm glad everyone has had some lovely scans this week and reassurance. Sorry to everyone who is still feel a little poorly.

I don't know if anyone has this, but I have a horrible metallic taste in my mouth and every time I eat something, I don't enjoy it as I can't taste the food with the horrible taste.

I still have my horrible cough and it's not getting any better. I've tried lemon, honey, hot water etc but it's not working.

Anyone have any natural remedies that will help?

12 weeks today! I have my scan on the 14th June, nervous and excited.

I start my aspirin today advised my the midwife when I turn 12 weeks.

Mushroo · 09/06/2023 10:21

@RG84 i wake up everyday with a horrible taste in my mouth! I’ve found mint tea to help a bit.

I can’t help with the cough though :( hopefully it clears up soon!

NoodleQueen90 · 09/06/2023 10:27

@Nclktnntt thanks, I read this too and was planning on just mentioning it to the midwife at my next appointment (should be in the next 2-3 weeks). If they keep up over the weekend I'll ring the gp on Monday though just to be on the safe side.
I have low blood pressure at 95/53 so I'm not concerned about it being due to high bp, I think this is probably just hormonal and someone else suggested it could be worse because we've had a lot of hot/dry weather. The only time I've had nosebleeds before is when the air has been really dry on holiday so that's definitely a possibility.

12 weeks today! I have my scan on the 14th June, nervous and excited.

I start my aspirin today advised my the midwife when I turn 12 weeks.

Tastes utterly revolting but 2tablespoons apple-cider vinegar , 1 tablespoon of raw honey add some water or sugar if needbe but I do it neat and down it - it's vile but works a treat for coughs. My FIL told me about it years ago.

Another one but you'll have to check you can have it being pregnant is bronchostop - again doesn't taste great, is herb based but not completely natural I don't think. Worth a check though incase it is. One of my clients told me about that one and again amazing for long standing coughs.

RG84 · 09/06/2023 10:33

@Mushroo @Nclktnntt Thank you ladies, I will try the remedies and the mint tea. Hopefully something should work!

SunSparkle · 09/06/2023 13:20

I’ve got sinusitis and so my face and head are throbbing with the pressure. Feeling a bit sorry for myself today and I vomited up my painkillers this morning. Going to try and get some toast down and lie down for a rest again while my daughter is at nursery.

Charlielechat · 09/06/2023 14:16

@Mushroo I feel the same! DHs are not the best at making us feel better 😂 Have you still been doing the gym?

Mushroo · 09/06/2023 14:20

@Charlielechat honestly not really! Averaging about once a week plus a bit of very very light yoga. Hoping for this burst of second trimester energy everyone talks about!

My friend just asked if I am doing parkrun tomorrow and I can’t think of anything worse 😂

How about you?

Charlielechat · 09/06/2023 14:32

No none at all 🙈 I hadn't done any exercise since I got pregnant apart from walking, but did one single workout last weekend 😂 I'll be off work for summer in a few weeks so I'm hoping I'll have more time to do exercise then. I really miss running for my wellbeing tbh! Walking just isn't the same

Mushroo · 09/06/2023 14:36

@Charlielechat definitely get where your coming from, the lack of exercise is feeding into feeling bleh. I might try and keep some hand weights by my desk so at least I’m doing something.

Hopefully we’ll feel more energised soon!

ThomasinaLivesHere · 09/06/2023 15:29

Sorry some aren’t feeling great with colds etc. Hope you feel better soon!

It’s a while a way but I am worried about getting bad colds in winter time when we’re heavily pregnant. It can be uncomfortable enough that far on without having a cold. I’ll definitely be getting the flu jag when they come around.
