Anyone just constantly feel the need to wee but actually don't need to? I'm 13 weeks so would have thought too early for pressure on my bladder?
Not a UTI as urine was dipped yesterday

Clucket87 · 06/06/2023 20:26

@Itonlytakesaminute I did that at the weekend and I am only 10 weeks. I think everyone is different.
Just had my scan date through for the 21st June and I've got bloods tomorrow (midwife didn't do them as my veins have a tendency of collapsing when I have blood taken).
It's all starting to feel very real. X

GingerJanee · 06/06/2023 20:34

@Charlielechat Yea I’m definitely with you on the worry part but the midwives we’re really reassuring and said even if the consultant discharges me at this first appointment they’ll re-refer me if I flare up or feel like I need further attention. I came out very relaxed after my booking appointment and scan after panicking for the last 12 weeks! I’m back in with the consultant at 15 weeks, community midwives 16 weeks and then back for the 20 week scan thereafter. They also provided a pregnancy book and loads of leaflets so hope this reassures you a bit, I didn’t know what to expect but found it all really pleasant.

Charlielechat · 06/06/2023 20:49

@GingerJanee that sounds like a really positive experience! Hopefully mine is too.
You have a busy month ahead by the sounds of it with all your appointments! Definitely good to be seen though!

FirstMondayInMay · 06/06/2023 21:03

@Itonlytakesaminute yes I was like that last week! I was adamant I had a UTI but my urine dip was fine too, I’m back to normal now though so just presumed it’s due to things moving etc

GratefulMum10 · 06/06/2023 21:49

@Thamantha yes! I had this from like weeks 8 which I think was bloating related but I just used to go out with my top button unbutton on my jeans and a long top!

I really need to get some good jeggings though. any recommendations from anyone appreciated.

At least we are into summer months now where dresses and skirts are great for comfort but we all need our chill out leggings /denims at times

@Justanothercyster

I'm 15 weeks tomorrow and nausea is still strong. I get it for about 4 hours after eating or drinking anything so I no longer eat breakfast so my mornings are at least productive. Polo mints are helping slightly. My nausea is worst in the evenings.

I had nearly managed a week without throwing up though but threw up dinner last night.

This is by far my best pregnancy regarding sickness though (throwing up all day everyday for 30 weeks with dd1 and 20 weeks for dd2) so trying not to feel too sorry for myself

@1717caterpillars1mouse this is me to a T - I am just over 12 weeks and I am at the point where I DREAD having to eat as I know 95% of the time I am going to be so nauseous for hours after. I have to plan my eating around childcare/naps/bedtime. Its horrible. You have my sympathy!

Charlielechat · 06/06/2023 22:08

@Thamantha yes me too! Been like this for several weeks. Have had to size up in bottoms already for comfort more than anything. I haven't dared try on jeans for a few weeks now 😂 living out of elasticated trousers and leggings.

Justanothercyster · 06/06/2023 22:15

@bookbathnap I really bloody hope so, it's been awful the last 2 days, anti sickness is holding off me actually vomiting but the nausea is becoming unbearable again 😭

@17caterpillars1mouse oh gosh, hopefully it'll be better then the others for you then!

@GingerJanee glad it went well!

@Thamantha yes! I'm as big as I was at 16 weeks last time around already 🙈 I live in leggings and flowy dresses atm

@Itonlytakesaminute im constantly weeing, it's annoying

I just use cocoa butter, I did last time and it worked nicely. There's not much in moisturising tbh, you're either going to get stretch marks or not. Thankfully no ladies in my family got them and I didn't last time so hoping it's the same 🤞🏼 the moisturisers do help with the horrible itchy feeling later on though I will say that.

I used the secret saviours support knickers and cream for my first pregnancy and probably started wearing them a bit late (16 weeks) so should start soon. It prevented stretch marks quite a lot (I got a few but given how many I’ve had in my lifetime I expected much more) and they were such a nice firm support on my bump as it grew. I used to feel so weird without them on. I also used the ordinary hyaluronic acid to keep the skin hydrated and nice and plump. All my stretch marks were right at the bottom of my bump but they faded nicely and I don’t feel super self conscious. I think they are normal.

wannabemum38 · 07/06/2023 09:11

I've been taking cycolgest for 3 weeks now and switched to rectal after 1 week but now getting uncomfortable and itchy there and I don't know if that's normal or if I should switch back but then that made me itchy too. Don't really want to stop taking them as still got 3 weeks left. Any advice?

Mushroo · 07/06/2023 09:12

I am not having a good time. TMI but my constipation is out of control.

I woke up in the middle of night with stabbing pains that at first I was convinced was appendicitis but after googling medical research, it was the wrong side. It was the worst pain I’ve ever had though!

I went to the loo, and omg I swear I feel like I’ve already given birth. Labour can’t be worse than that. I thought I might pass out at one point! 😂

Im going to the pharmacist later because clearly going to the loo once a week is a recipe for disaster! I’m at a bit of a loss because I’m doing everything right! I’m exercising, starting the day with weetabix and a smoothie, drinking my body weight in water.

It’s like without coffee my body has forgotten what it needs to do!

Id actually take some sickness over this, at least I could whine sickness, this is just embarrassing!!

DH thinks it’s hilarious and suggested I look up ‘yoga for constipation’ 😂

SMG1992 · 07/06/2023 09:36

@Mushroo I've been struggling with that too! It's so strange as not something I've ever had an issue with before.
I've been adding prunes to my diet daily and bran flakes which does help, but if I have one day without it's back straight away.

Mushroo · 07/06/2023 09:42

@SMG1992 thank you I’ll try prunes! I’ll try anything at this point 😂.

No one mentions this about the magic of pregnancy….

SMG1992 · 07/06/2023 09:45

@Mushroo I read it's because your body digests more slowly to ensure all nutrients are being taken from food but yeah not a great side effect.
Also I swear it makes me look more pregnant as my stomach gets huge!

OnNaturesCourse · 07/06/2023 09:45

@Mushroo

I know you say you are drinking loads of water but exactly how much? I have had to double my water intake alone. I am now having to drink 2-2.5L a day and then I will have a 330ml of can of fizzy juice and/or some flavored juice on TOP of my water intake.

Even then I am only managing to go once every 2 or 3 days. Massive improvement on my very early pregnancy when I went nearly 2 weeks without a movement.

I have my scan today and I am SO nervous. Everyone keeps asking if I am excited but honestly I am not. I can't shake the feeling something is wrong. I have been so sick and poorly. My diet is terrible. I haven't taken my pregnancy vitamins more than 5 times as my gag reflex is so high. I haven't rested as I should. I'm exhausted, ill and honestly don't see how my body would be able to grow a baby given its current state and input! I get like this before all my scans in previous pregnancies too but never this bad... Anxiety is high today!

Mushroo · 07/06/2023 09:54

@OnNaturesCourse glad it’s not just me that going to sporadically. I’m probably having about 1.5l of water plus other drinks so I’ll set myself a challenge of 2.5 a day of water.

Feeling anxious is so normal, I hate scan day! You’ll be fine I’m sure though, babies are leeches so you probably feel crap because the baby is taking everything. Good luck with it x

OnNaturesCourse · 07/06/2023 10:13

In that case I really hope I am carrying a good leech 😂

Drinking ALL the water is hard, and I really struggled at first but you get used to it (and used to feeling slightly less full of "it"!)

Mushroo · 07/06/2023 10:14

@OnNaturesCourse you’ll have the loveliest leech! 😂

OnNaturesCourse · 07/06/2023 10:18

Definitely going to be bumps nickname from now 😂

NoodleQueen90 · 07/06/2023 10:25

@Mushroo I've had this since about 7 weeks as well. Pharmacist gave me fybogel sachets which I've been using now and again. Been eating lots of fruit, porridge every morning, walking lots and drinking ridiculous amounts. It's still an issue sporadically but a couple of days on fybogel seems to sort me out. I was in tears trying to go one of the times so I feel your pain, hope you get sorted out.

Mushroo · 07/06/2023 10:28

@NoodleQueen90 thank you, I’ll ask for some cyborgs.

I love this thread so much as there’s always someone with the same issue. Feels much less lonely :)

Mushroo · 07/06/2023 10:28

Cyborgs?! Fybogel!

NoodleQueen90 · 07/06/2023 10:34

@OnNaturesCourse my scan is today too, my partner has left work and waiting on him picking me up, it's at 11:45. I was excited but now it's here I'm so nervous I feel sick!
Best of luck with your scan, I'm sure everything will be fine for both of us 🤞🏽

NoodleQueen90 · 07/06/2023 10:36

@Mushroo cyborgs made me laugh 😂
