@FlyingHighFlyingLow I'll try the saltwater for now! They're on my tongue too so I can't leave them alone 🙈

wannabemum38 · 04/06/2023 21:47

So apparently little bean doesn't like meatballs and now snickers bars boo lol

17caterpillars1mouse · 05/06/2023 07:51

My baby only seems to only like salsa, olives and occasionally toast lol

Looking for advice... (sorry for just barging back in)

Had worsening back pain for two days, put it down to overdoing it in the garden. Woke up this morning with horrible cramps really low in my pelvis - it's constant dull aches but with flare ups like waves where the discomfort is so bad I'm kinda breathing through them. 😕

Still have all my symptoms like nausea etc.

Bit worried with how intense these cramps are getting though. Is there is point in calling EPU as I know at this stage (12 weeks) there is very little they can/would do.

If you're at all concerned definitely ring midwives with your symptoms and see what they suggest, hope all is well x

Just to update on my covid and scanning situation... Just spoke to the scanning department they said anyone with covid can’t come in at all so will have to rebook so have given me Tuesday next week which also means my Husband won't be able to come as I won't have childcare then 😢 . They said that unfortunately means I’ll miss out on the screening test. They said they can still do a quad test which screens for downs but doesn’t screen for edwards or Pataus. I'm just sat here crying my eyes out basically 😢 meant to be 13+3 today and it's all just too late.

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 05/06/2023 09:40

I'm sorry @TulipVictory . Any chance your dates are wrong and could be a couple days behind so can just sneak in the test? They will check.

Edwards and Pataus are much rarer than Down's. If every 1 in 700 have Down's, its 1 in 5000 for edwards and 1 in 16000 for Pataus so the chance is very very small x

Mushroo · 05/06/2023 09:43

@TulipVictory im so sorry. Could you afford to do a NIPT privately? That will test for everything and you could book it in as soon as you feel better.

It’s expensive though so not an option for everyone :(

TulipVictory · 05/06/2023 10:54

Has anyone seen this? And know if it is any good? NIPT test kit sent home to your door for £299?

mybabycompany.co.uk/non-invasive-prenatal-testing-nipt/

Mushroo · 05/06/2023 12:15

@TulipVictory i think they are a list of brands that do the NIPT so I’ve heard of Iona and Panorma but not the others.

I suspect it’s all fine though. Are you close enough to the clinic to get your blood taken? Not sure I could DIY it!

Lillybobs86 · 05/06/2023 12:25

Hello All,
Hope it's ok to join, I am 14 weeks :)
I am so grateful to get this far after traumatic pregnancy last time with my daughter and shortening cervix so a lot of monitoring this time around, they were planning to do the cerclage stitch however just monitoring for now.
Also ectopic last year so I am so thankful to be here ❤️
Just read a few comments about sickness etc .. Well I am pleased to tell you finally last week when I hit 13 weeks morning sickness eased off and I am eating like a horse 🤪🙈

wannabemum38 · 05/06/2023 12:38

@Lillybobs86 welcome to the group and massive congratulations.
I'm 13+4 and still having some sickness hope it wears off soon!

ThomasinaLivesHere · 05/06/2023 15:01

@TulipVictory sorry about your test situation it’s such a shame to miss out but hopefully you can get something privately done to give peace of mind although cost is a pain. And like Mushroo I’d find it hard to do bloods on my own. I tried once and didn’t work.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 05/06/2023 15:01

@Lillybobs86 Welcome and congratulations 🥳

SMG1992 · 05/06/2023 16:24

Hi All
hope everyone is doing well
ive just had 4 days in Cornwall which has been lovely
I have my scan tomorrow morning - I’m feeling nervous because of my MMC in January but am hoping all is well and I can start sharing the news!

RG84 · 05/06/2023 17:01

Ladies what is a HGM midwife appointment?

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 05/06/2023 18:15

@RG84 never heard of HGM, google doesn't have it as a common acronym. When is it? Could it be glucose monitoring - as in is gestational diabetes a concern? Just thinking GM could be glucose monitoring/management but that's a complete guess.

RG84 · 05/06/2023 18:20

@FlyingHighFlyingLow it could be that then, makes sense. I had Gestational diabetes during my first pregnancy and in Dec 2022, i was borderline diabetic. The midwife at my booking appointment next week said they aren't going to do a glucose test as it will come up positive anyway so I guess they will start monitoring me now. I'm also a ceoliac. Happy days!

99SR · 05/06/2023 18:38

@OnNaturesCourse how are you getting on? I’ve also been experiencing cramps today plus almost a pressure feeling in my vagina. I’m terrified! It’s my 12 week scan tomorrow. I just have a bad feeling.

Itonlytakesaminute · 05/06/2023 19:54

Had my NHS scan today and all is good, 13 weeks along now

@99SR I have had period like pains and felt heavy in my uterus for the past few days but I think it's just everything expanding so it will just be that

wannabemum38 · 05/06/2023 20:09

@99SR I've had period type cramps before and a weird heavy feeling in my lower regions all quite normal so my mum told me.

TulipVictory · 05/06/2023 21:08

Thanks @RG84 none of them are local to me though. I'm definitely going to look into NIPT after my 14 week scan next week now though just for peace of mind

@99SR I have mine on Wednesday - good luck for tomorrow. I decided to try and rest up as much as possible today to see if it helped. It did. The cramps have eased but the backache hasn't. I am wondering if I am maybe a bit dehydrated.

wannabemum38 · 06/06/2023 06:47

Good luck with scans this week. I'm going to be telling work today about baby hopefully that will go OK. Also my best mate comes back from holiday so I hope I will be telling her later tonight busting to tell her!
